Just made our ressies at Sci-fi and saw on some reviews how everyone raves about the milkshakes. Was wondering if you have to pay extra for the shake or is that considered the drink in your meal? :3dglasses

I pretty sure I have read on here recently that it all depends on the server you get......:confused3

We ate there the last week of July & had the DxDP & we didn't have to pay extra for milkshakes.

Not sure if you've been, but make sure you request a car. If its busy, they sometimes stick people at the tables in the back & its not as much fun. One of my fav rest ever.

We got ours as our desert....we asked for them in to-go cups and they were perfect to carry around the park for a bit, plus we were WAAAAY to stuffed anyway, so there's no way we would have eaten a regular desert.

We have been three times and we got the shake on the plan all three times...The first time we went the server told us without asking that the milkshake counted as the drink...We asked to be sure it was still covered the second time we went because we loved it so much...We did not ask and we were not informed the third time but it was covered by the plan when we received the check...

BTY, we ask for a glass of water also...Because the shakes are really think and do not realyy help wach down food ;)

We got our shakes as our drink as well. Then our server asked us if we would like something to drink "on him" Love Sci-Fi. I like the way they treat people in there. ;) Needless to say his tip reflected it because he was just a plain ol' nice guy...even without the free soda. :)

Certain places you can order a specialty drink....like I'm pretty sure at The Plaza, 50's PT, etc...am I right or is it all just different each time?

We've gotten smoothies and milk shakes as beverages at 50's Prime Time, Whispering Canyon, Le Cellier, and Konas. I've also gotten a virgin strawberry daiquiri at both the Flying Fish and California Grill as a beverage on the DDP.

...my question would be could you get the milkshake as a dessert and get a soda as your drink for example??
Thanks!

I love this - I'm the exact same way when a server treats me well. That is until I realize the bigger tip I gave them pretty much nullifies the "free" whatever they gave me, and I feel like a chump.

You do not have to request a car...It is an "automatic" thing...However, when you check-in the time of your ADR they may ask you if you would like to take a "table car" if you will be seated faster...At that time you can say yes that you will take the car or no that you will wait for the next available car...

I think 10:30 is a bit early for the type of food they serve...You should be fine around 11:30..Should not be too packed then.

I've seen two cars one with a big table in the middle and the one with the front and back seat(i want that one). Is there a name for it?

The one with the big table in the middle is the "table car" and the one with the front/back seat is just a "car"...They will actually show you a picture of the two cars and ask which one you want...But again, there is the assumption that you want the "car" not the table when you make the reservation...No worries.

Just an FYI. We went when my DS was 4 mo & he feel asleep before we were seated. There is NO NO NO room from your lap to the counter area. When we go back next we'll have a toddler, so we're going to 50's instead. I'm a little sad b/c this is one of my favorites, but figured we try somewhere new this time.

We were there last week on the deluxe dining plan and we were able to get the milkshake as our beverage. It did not count as a dessert and we did not have to pay extra.
