Hi everyone,

I just found this great website so I decided to join in the fun! My name is Patty and I am a wife and mom, a GS leader and a travel agent. My DH and I have been married for 22 years and we have a daughter who is 9. We are traveling to WDW in December for eight wonderful, fun-filled, action-packed days/nights. :wizard:

I have been to WDW 53 times, and its a favorite discussion topic for me. I'm always on the lookout for new hints tips, so if you have any to share, just let me know!!

Thank you for the warm welcome!!

To 2chinooks, I lived in South Berwick years ago, but over time made my way out here to the woods! I love Barrington, it actually seems smaller in some respects to N/S Berwick. I miss the easy access to Kittery & the seacoast though.

Is anyone going this year? We're going December 9-17th, so we'll be there over mousefest, so not only do we have the excitement of our vacation, but we get to check out all the mousefest activities for the first time.

We will there RIGHT before you as we leave on the 8th. I am excited to be there in December as I never have. We will be attending the VMCP on the 7th (DDs birthday) and I cant WAIT for that!

Yep, 53 times. People think I'm the Disney addict until they meet my mom! It also helped that we lived down there. We were "snowbirds" and whenever family came to visit, we went with them to WDW. I have six sisters and brother..which meant quite a few trips.

We're hitting the Christmas party on the 11th. We went years ago..oh my, I was just thinking we didn't have my daughter then, so it must have been over 9 years ago..wow!

I can't wait..The one thing I'm looking forward to is trying a dole whip. Everyone talks about them and I can't believe it but we've never had one.

Our last trip was in 2004, and there have been so many changes, we can't wait to check things out.

My older DD is 9 also. I am so glad that we are going now when the magic will still be real for her. She is such a BELIEVER in all things magical - I will be so sad when she stops believing.

We were at the beach last week for vacation and DH buried a treasure chest that we put together before we left. He made a map and stuck it in an old wine bottle and had it "wash up" on the beach right before we went to fly kites. DD found it and is still certain that pirates put it there.

Of course, her wonderful friends :headache: kept telling her that we must have planted it there but she refuses to acknowledge that and has never once asked me if we had anything to do with it.

So, I think that she is smart enough to know that things like that are not necessarily "real" but she believes anyway!

To JKSB...we were driving home from Walmart last night, and I yelled out only 16 minutes until the fireworks...at 8:59p I said again, "Oh look, there's Tinkerbell headed for Cinderella's castle." My DD spun in her seat to look out the window crying, "where, where is she...I don't see her." I do love this age when magic is still real. We only have one child and I think that keeps her "young" for her age. Some of her friends are a little more grown up than I want her to be.

To Sharpay's Mom: Maybe we'll cross paths. Are you going to MVMCP?

Boy I've met more new people here today, then I have in a month on another board I belong to. This is just wonderful! I love Barrington, it's really a nice safe community. I don't truly live in "Barrington Proper" we're down on the Lee end, we live down by the traffic circle.

Now that I have my DD in school, it feels like we are more a part of the community here, it's going to be hard to start school soon with what has happened to the elementary school's principal. (Her 21 year old son was killed in a bad automobile accident on Sunday) I feel just awful for her and her family. It will be hard to see her there in front of the school with a big smile welcoming the kids back, when you know that she is going through so much.

It's was really fun chatting with everyone today, and I hope it continues, but thought I would suggest for those that are traveling in December to make sure to put a LGMH (Lime Green Mickey Head) on you bag that your will be taking into the parks...maybe we'll run into each other!

Pike - do you know that the Pop Warner people are going to be there? Are you part of PW??

My DDs cheer for them and I am PRAYING they dont make it to WDW. Isnt that terrible??? lol We planned this trip long before we signed them up for cheer and it will take an act of GOD to rearrange things if they did wind up there.

Nope, not part of PW. Although I was a cheerleader in high school many, many, MANY years ago!:laughing:

We had all ready chosen our dates when we found out that PW was going to be there. I've heard many say not to go during that time and I've heard just as many say it's no big deal.

I am so excited to go!

My DD is going into fourth grade..had to believe its our last year at the elementary school, seems like just yesterday we followed the bus to kindergarten and watched her get off the bus, get greeted and go in for her
1st day.

I'm happy for you...upset for me :mad: as my DH said he would stop by Home Depot on the way home and he forgot! :eek: He said he would write it down and pick it up tomorrow...if he doesn't I'm off to Portsmouth!
