and either quite a result, or they don't know what they are doing. Wonder which?
I had written to complain about not being able to book AP or Shareholder rates more than 3 months in advance.
Here is the reply I got today:

Thank you for your email in regards to your difficulties in obtaining a booking for February. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued fidelity to the Resort and having shares in the resort shows how much you believe in the magic that we strive to provide. The sales for Annual passport holders and Shareholders are generally slightly later than the traditional bookings but this is only for a short time. In regards to February we can actually book now for you and I apologise if you have had information to the contrary. If however you wish to come at a busy time and you are worried that there will not be any rooms available to you, you can make a traditional Bed and Breakfast booking and have this modified once the special rates become available. If you would like to confirm a booking for February based on what you have already booked in October I can give you an idea of the cost. For an arrival on the 15th of February including Disney Express service, Half Board Premium for two adults, in a standard room at the Disneyland hotel there will be a total holiday cost of £1245.36 (this is according to availability as always)Please call on 08448 008 111 to make your booking, if you encounter any difficulties please do not hesitate to ask for myself, I am in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 8 am and 3:30pm.
Wishing you a magical stay in October and looking forward to welcoming you in February,
Kind regards, Sarah - Guest Care Department, Disneyland Resort Paris.

Might be worth noting down that name and number for future reference!
I should also note that while I didn't send it here, the reply came from this address:

Book, book, book!
Actually DH might have a heart attack if I immediately book something else, although we have talked about a long weekend in Feb (he will be doing a Masters course with the OU from November so can't take much time off) and the May half term week, when we are going with another family too. Not sure if we'll stay onsite though.
I've emailed her back thanking her and asking when I can book May!

Good grief I got a reply to my second email within minutes. Here it is:

I have taken note of your comments and have forwarded this information higher up. In regards to booking in May the sales for next Summer will be opening in November/December time. There will be a delay before the Shareholders can book their special rates but as stated below you can reserve your room on a Bed and Breakfast basis as soon as the sales are open and then transfer later to a Shareholder booking.
Wishing you a magical evening,
Sarah

wow - thats a result!!!!!

so, basically all we need to do is phone up and book as normal (and i assum pay the 10% deposit), and then, when its 3 months (or so) from the date, we phone up and get it transfered to a shareholders booking...... have i got that right??? (been out all afternoon with kids, and brain is suffering from lack of intellectual stimulation!!)

so, we would get our discount, but we can book earlier than 3 months???

sounds too good to be true lol but i do like the ending to the email.......

Thats how I interpret it too. If so that is good of them to do a cost adjustment months after the booking. Not many companies do that for holidays.

Thanks for letting us know Cathy:thumbsup2

Just to confuse this topic, I'd emailed CRO and ADMIN teams similar query and today they got back to me.

On the subject of whether a booking can be adjusted to obtain a later released discount they said:

"These special 30% offers, as all our special offers, apply only to new bookings, therefore I kindly suggest you either book now with only 10%, or wait and see if other 30% discount offers will be running."

This came from the ADMIN team who are based onsite. This was also my previous understanding of the situation

So - I think maybe the offer to update the booking of the OP was perhaps a special one-off for the OP, or an incorrect castmember?.

Regards

Iain

Thats certainly my understanding for AP bookings Iain - if you book using your AP, the price you accept is the price you pay. Any extra discounts that come out (ie 30% off) after you've booked, you can't take advantage of, as its for new bookings only.

Britchic's email response from DLRP though - that may have been all based on shareholders discount, which is only 10% at all times anyway. Is that correct, shareholders?

Correct.

Shareholders is 10% at all times unless you are booking in for a shareholder event when the discount is more but only on specified hotels for that event.

Yes I wasn't asking them about EXTRA discount, just the normal AP or shareholder room only prices, which I had been told I was unable to book until 3 months before. Really it was the 3 month opening for bookings that I was questioning.
From now on I'm always going to contact her when I book anyway!
