The last 2 are off!!! :) I also was able to see one of my stepsons on the bus.. He put down the window so I could snap a photo (typical!).. Of course the busdriver asked if I wanted him back.. I politely declined! :)
So, now I have several hours to myself..
I shed a few tears until the little boy I watched told me to quit being a big baby they were "only going to school"...

I have a DsS that is a junior in HS..
I have a DD that is a freshman in HS (the little fish in a big pond but thank gosh she is involved in sports w/ upper classmen so she has some older kids to rely on)
I have a DsS in middle school.
I have a DS in middle school.
I have a DS in 2nd grade.
Wow! My kids are all growing up... (yep, teary eyed now.. it's too quiet and they've been gone all of 15 mins!) Definitely have to get to scrappin' and finding productive things to do!
Didn't we just bring these kids home from the hospital?:confused3 ;)

I know! I get that way when I look at mine too...they both have become much more confident this year...Remember that feeling, though, when they come home and start complaining about their English teacher and all the homework they have...:lmao:

Oh I so hear that!! Especially PrincessJ complaining about all the homework and that she has practice after school! The DRAMA of HS! I feel I have given her the knowledge and the work ethic to do things right (mommy's way) but this year should be the test especially for me..because I can't stand over her shoulder any more.. I have to hope what I have instilled and talked to her about sunk in! DS12 is a little more like me.. must get the job done, do it well & now, and than I can relax... PrincessJ is more like DH... Do the job...and do it well...but I want to do it on my own schedule not anyone elses! popcorn::

I'll be nervous wreck...just like when DS20 started driving to school. He will have to call or text me that he got there OK for a few weeks. I'm sure I'll be shedding those tears when my baby is driving down the driveway on the first day. For 2 weeks we still have to carpool though, he can't drive alone till Sept.
The other car pool mom said he can follow her on the route for a few days...then I think she will just be following him :lmao:

I would so be doing the same thing.. another reason we got text msg. over the weekend so if there was an emergency she could txt me.. especially when on the bus.. can't never hear w/ screamin' kids in the bkgd. "what, who, where?"
They haven't completed the repairs in our student parking lot...so here is hoping they have enough parking spaces today..because if they invade the teacher parking lot I'm sure there will be a mass lecture to ensue on the kids...yet the issue is totally out of the control of the kids..and should have been completed this summer.. I mean it's been tore up since the weekend after school let out.. June 1... so why the heck could that have NOT been finished by lets say Aug 1! :confused3

We have 22 days until school starts, but we'll be spending 12 of those in Florida, so I know the time will fly. DD#1 is starting middle school and DD#2 is entering first grade. I'm a bit nervous for #1 but she doesn't appear nervous at all and I hide my feelings about it. I don't cry on the first day of school, though, I happy dance:). I love them but they've been home all summer and pretty bored and driving me up a wall, so I'll be happy to get us all back into the school routine.
PN96, the parking lot thing could happen for a lot of reasons. We had hoped to have new carpeting installed in some of the classrooms over the summer, we started the process to get the funding approved back in April, but one obstacle after another made it impossible. It's very frustrating.

I still get teary-eyed at remembering the first day of school and it's long gone for me. Dds are 27 & 25 respectively, and sometimes, I really miss those little girls planning their first day outfits, taking pictures, making lunches, buying supplies...you know the list!
Enjoy these days - they go way too quickly.
Now I'm teary-eyed again. I miss my babies!

Thanks all!!!
DS7 did try to talk us into letting him skip this year and start school next year.. He is now trying to figure out why we go to school for 2 years.. 2008 and than we get out in 2009! We were trying to explain that a school year runs differently than a calendar year. I plan to sit down tonight and show him the "school year" in a calendar version and that he really is not going to school for 2 years just 9 months.

Loved his day!
Loves his teacher!
Ate lunch with his girl-friend.. they have been in class all 3 years together!!
She is an only child so has separation anxiety issues from mom...so DS helps with this... and she feels more comfortable and the drama isn't as bad...
He brought his science book home to read some pages with us... and he kept tellin' the teacher how funny it is that she and DD have the same first name... and of course that he loved seeing the baby at the fair!!!
So far so good...and he ate all his lunch!!!
the little girl I baby sit for is ready to tell me about her excitement so I'm off to see how her day went..
had to fill out DS's paperwork first before anything...because if he brings everything back completed he gets a treat.. of course he said the teacher told me..that I should have no problem earning these treats because if mom could drive them back to school after she filled them out they'd be turned in before she left to go home! LOL These teachers all know me so well!!! :hippie: :thumbsup2
