a friend and i are doing MNSSHP for the first time this year! i hear they offer free face painting. we're not dressing up but thought it would be fun to get our faces painted. i wanted to see what kind of designs they offer. please post pictures of the face painting here!

also, do adults do this, too? i would think so since it's disney, but i don't want to be the only 32-year-old walking around with my face painted!

How much does this cost during MNSSHP? My son wanted to get his face painted at another amusement park but we didn't have time.

I heard there is one in Toontown, not sure where.

We went to one right when you cross over into Adventureland, near the Dole Whips. I think Timon is usually there for meet n greet. Also, Capt Jack was setup near there last Sept. It is the crossing near Crystal Palace. Hope that helps!

I had my face painted at MNSSHP in 2003 - so did DH. It was a lot of fun. I can't post attachments yet, but I do use that photo as my avatar - small and hard to see, but my fav photo of myself.

I plan to have it done this year, as well... I'm all about free. :cool1:

Oh, I didn't know the face painting was FREE during the parties! Are the lines usually long? Do they use the same designs that they have during regular park hours (that we usually pay out the nose for)? We're doing our first MNSSHP on 9/05 and I'm getting really excited - I love learning new Disney stuff! Just when I think I know it all...

We've never had her face painted during regular park hours so I can't tell you if it is the same or not. As far as lines, they will probably be pretty long. We skipped the first parade last year and went to face painting so the line was not too long. We waiting about 10 minutes, if that. So, I would suggest either going right when it opens (I'm assuming 7:00) or during the first parade if you are sticking around for the second one. I would also imagine Toontown to be more crowded than Adventureland so I would go to that one. These are just guesses on my part. Have fun!

P.S. I heard there are free stroller rentals during MNSSHP too.

Here are my boys at the party in 2005. There was no line at all we pretty much walked up and had it done. The face painters work really fast too, they were done in less than 5 mins.

bump!! I'd love to see more pictures of people who did the face painting during MNSSHP. I'd like to do this myself since it's free. I've always wanted to. However, I'm going to be captain feathersword and my DH and DS will be the Wiggles, so I really don't know what they could paint on my face. Feathers?? LOL

I'm bumping this again. Has anybody got their face painted this year at MNSSHP? I still want to do this and I'd like to know what are my options.

Is the face paint easy to wash off?

We were there for the 9/5 MNSSHP. My son got his face painted as a pirate (there's also Goofey, some princess ones (Tink & Cinderella for sure) and a few other boyish ones,) sorry thats all I can remember, and yes it washes off easily with a wash cloth and some soap.

We actually paid for these adorable paintings $24. We did go to MNSSHP but there was just too much to do in too little time. When we passed by the painting I did see they were doing to same designs as regular days so this sample was on there board. We asked for pink instead of red to match their bows. Even though we paid, it was sooo worth it. The girls felt so special. It helped too that they were each painted the same so they had a reminder of how cute their own face looked when they looked at eachother.:goodvibes

We were there 2 weeks ago and my DD, DS, and me all got our faces painted. The kids thought it was really cool that mom joined in the fun! We got a little bit of extra magic, too, b/c my son, who was dressed up as a lion, only wanted his face painted to match his costume. The lion design was not on the list of "choices", but the CM obliged without a single complaint. It was great!

Here are the pics I snapped:

Does anyone have a handle on the exact location? Do they start at 7 sharp? I am guessing DD will want her face painted, so might as well get it done early...

thanks so much! Last year at DD's bday party I had hired someone to paint faces...there is a picture of her on the wall with her face painting and she keeps asking for it. I can't wait to surprise her with that!!

Yes!

Yes - it will sweat off, too. ;)

Actually the lines gets smaller as the evening goes on. If you dont plan on doing the 1st parade - it's the best face painting time. We go to the one by the Dole Whip place...if youre standing in front of the Dole Whip joint, it's to the left.

We went to 2 MNSSHP this year.

My son did Jack his first night (you can see the t-shirt, too):

And then the 2nd one he did "Kitty Cat" - and I did it too:

Photo threads are usually found on the theme parks community board, so I'm going to move this over there now.
