Has anyone ever booked two consecutive stays and only added the DDP to one of them? In other words, if we went May 23 - June 1, could we make two separate reservations, say May 23-27 and May 27-June 1, and only add the dining plan to one of them? Just thought this might be a way to enjoy the plan for part of thet rip, and also cut down the cost.

:cool1: :hippie: I heard of this being done many time on the Dis Board. But I have never done this but I know many have so you should get many to respond that have actually done this.

Yes, you can get the Dining Plan for one reservation and not the other. Do be aware though that, while unlikely, it is possible you may have to move rooms on the day you switch reservations (and you will need to re-check-in, but that's no big deal).

You can do this with two separate reservations. Keep in mind that unless you have an annual pass or you are a DVC member, you'd have to buy some form of park ticket with both reservations.

Not necessarily. The first part of the stay could be 5 nights, with a 10-day pass and DDP, then the second part could be a room-only reservation. The tickets would still be valid (within 14 days of first use).

OP, you'd have to make 2 separate reservations and put down 2 deposits - $200 for the package, one-night's stay for the room-only reservation. The package part would have to be paid off 45 days in advance, while the room-only portion would be due when you checked in for that part of your stay.

Do be aware that your DDP credits would expire at midnight of the day you "check out" of your package reservation. You couldn't drag them out over the length of both stays.

That is true. You would need a park ticket with both reservations only if you want DDP with both reservations. that is the sort of question that is generally asked - can we stay in 2 different resorts with DDP at both.
