I know people always get edgy about waiting for these.
I booked on Saturday by phone. About how long should my confirmation take?
I really want to forward all my details off to customer services!!

When you book by phone do you only have to pay a 10% deposit?
If so when is the rest payable?
Sorry to hijack the thread :)

Yes 10% deposit and your confirmation will confirm the date balance has to be paid. Which I think from memory is 60 days before.
I took the option of it being paid automatically from credit card so that I didn't have to remember :)

Thank you very much.
Means that we might be able to book our 2 planned holidays next year at the same time which we wouldn't have been able to do had we needed to pay in full at the time of booking.

Hope this isn't too OT but although we've never booked 'directly' with Disney, we used Dawson and Sanderson which works out the exact same price and i think they book directly with Disney themselves. But both times we were meant to recieve like a confirmation letter from Disney and we've never recieved it either time. But Dawson and Sanderson have their copy of it there so last time they gave us a photocopy of it and the same this time. I just find it a little odd.

It's usually 48 hours but can take up to 72... Don't worry, the email will come soon:)

As far as I remember it's 2 months before you're due to travel. I always pay the whole amount, otherwise I'll forget

Cool.
I'm wondering how to word my e-mail when I send the confirmation through to lady lady who is going to work soem Disney magic for me.
SHould I allude to wanting a park view, or even CC? Or should I jsut say something like, I can't wait for thi trip, I've wanted to stay in the DLH since I was 12....

Now that's tricky... But if you don't ask, you don't get... Maybe just say you'd love to stay in CC and see what happens...

Exactly....oich its tough! I was laying in bed last night imagining getting to the check in desk and the guy saying:
"Oh, no, madame, Castle Club check in over there!".........I wonder how much extra it is?
I'm starting to sound like someone else we all know and love!
In other news it is 10% and then 60 days for the rest. But I am going to pay early and the lady said that's fine, and it doesnt even have to be on the same card, and you can do it in installments if you wanted, I could pone up today and pay another £200 off, then the same next month etc.

Or ask for a park view as i know some rooms you dont need to be CC to get one of these..i think lol.

I'd play the dumb card. Well for me it wouldn't even be a card. I always thought that the DLH was ONLY the bit over the gate, I didn't even know that there were side parts to it until recently :confused3

That's because the Travel Agency you book with owns that booking. The confirmation that Dawson and Sanderson get is the only confirmation that gets sent out. You as the client will never receive any direct correspondence from Disney - similarly, you cant call up disney direct to check on the booking and make any modifications.

You shouldn't have because Disney doesn't have your details on file. Disney books with the TA and the only information that they have for you is your names. The email confirmation goes directly to the TA and then the TA sends the confirmation out to you.

ooh I see. That makes sense then, the woman said we should of recieved a copy but maybes it just depends with Disney?? Confusing lol. Wonder if it depends which company you book through? Some may be more well known with them or something.

No...when you book through a travel agency, they own that booking....all correspondence goes directly through to the travel agent. Disney will never send anything out directly to the client for 2 reasons #1) They don't have the guests information. Aside from the guests names, they don't take down info such as address, phone number, etc. #2) It is against Company policy to have direct contact with the guest as it is made through the travel agent.
It doesn't matter which company you book through - all correspondence will go through the Travel Agent and you get everything from them.

How can they post a confirmation to you when they don't have your address to post a confirmation to? The only details they have are the agency details.
Unless your TA didn't book direct with Disney?

I don't know for sure, but I would assume that if you were really worried about the booking confirmation, then you could probably make sure that you asked Disney for your booking reference or whatever they call it when you book.
That's kind of what I did when I booked online last time - I made sure I saved a copy of the confirmation webpage, which I then deleted once I received the all important e-mail.

Does anybody know if I can cancel a few days off my reservation, or cancel the whole reservation if I have booked it through an agent? I have the confirmation number she gave me, but at this point with our days in question I would rather just cancel what I need to.
Thanks for any input

I booked my trip directly with Disney over the phone on Monday. They told me that I would get email confirmation and that this would be needed for check-in and flights. The lady said 24-48 hrs. Exactly 48 hrs later I had no email and started to panic. :surfweb: I phoned Disney again and they said it could take up to 72 hrs. I checked my email every couple of hours and 24hrs later I had my confirmation. Not that I'm obsessive or anything! lol
I was told that the balance would need to be paid 60 days before the start of my holiday.
