how much time to get from the magic kingdom to the grand floridian?

Hey my fellow mouseketeers,

I've planned a surprise afternoon tea for my mum at the garden tea room in the grand floridian, I was just wondering about how long it takes to get there from the magic kingdom by monorail? I want it to seem as though we're just going on a little monorail ride for no particular reason and then decide to have a look at the hotel...I'd like to try and time it as well as I can, so if anyone can help me out that would be great!

It probably would be faster for you to take the boat "shuttle" from MK over to the GF. The boat ride takes about 10 minutes. The monorail will be stopping at Contempory, TTC and Poly Coming back from GF next stop is MK. The boat ride is really nice. Have a great time! That is really nice of you.

aww thanks MinnieLee...I almost let it slip yesterday, mum must have wondered why I looked so confused all of a sudden! But the boat ride sounds fantastic, we're staying at Port Orleans so we'll be spending a lot of time floating around on boats, it really is the ONLY way to get round Disney!
