This is a link to the text from a speech (http://www.schuylersmonster.com/ATCC_keynote.html) given as the Keynote Speech at a Texas conference about Augmentative Communication.
It's quite interesting. The man who gave the speech has a written a book about his daughter and being the parent of a child with special needs. The book is called Schuyler's Monster (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Schuylers-Monster/Robert-Rummel-Hudson/e/9780312372422). I have been reading his blog for a few years and reading about how well his DD did with her communication device had a large part in us choosing that device for our DD.
