YAY!!! fun pictures!!!

I was rather surprised at how addictive this is...but my husband, who is already mortified that I take pictures of our food before I allow anyone to start eating, will now be subjected to THAT MANY MORE pictures...b/c there is a gift shop every inch or so! We are going to have to get that extra card for the camera!:cool1:

some of the BEST details at Disney are in the gift shops, from park to park and theme to theme! Shame on ME for not noticing before!

I'm even MORE psyched for our trip...and I didn't think that was possible!

I was wondering also where that was and would have guessed it was the world of disney at DTD ..... btw, I have never seen that giant stitch on the World of Disney sign! how awesome!

I don't think Disney sells American Girl dolls, but they do have "My Disney Girl" dolls...which are essentially the same thing! Same size anyhow!

I think they cost around the same as well!

I don't know what store they are in, but yes... there are Precious Moments that are Disney themed. You can get them at Hallmark as well.

They are pretty much like American Girl dolls. That picture was in the Germany shop. I didn't look at the price, so I can't really help with much. I'm sure I'll be getting Brooklynn one in time.

I saw in one of the pics Precious Moments that look Disney related in what store is this? I collect Precious Moments and I think this would be a nice Christmas gift for my hubby to buy me. They are Disney themed aren't they???

There are Precious Moments things in several places, so you shouldn't have trouble finding them. They have Dumbo and Teacups and all sorts of cute ones. I'm fighting off buying one, because I know if I do, I'll think I have to have more and more and more!

I am coming over for 2 weeks on September 15th and frankly after viewing this thread the word excited does not even begin to approach how I feel right now. Is it wrong to get that excited by simply seeing pics of the inside of stores?? Heaven help me when I reach a park!!!! :woohoo:

Every time I look at this thread I can't believe how many picture opportunities I have MISSED!!! SO not this year! I'm going to be a picture taking NUT! The best part of taking pictures of gift shops and such is that I don't have to convince them to smile...or to stop squinting...or to "look at me!"...stores don't close their eyes at the last second...or TALK during the picture taking (my HUSBAND:rolleyes: )...nope, stores are just ready to be photographed!

I can't WAIT!!!

Re: the dolls; the Disney girl dolls are less expensive than the American girl dolls, but don't really compare to them imho. There is a lot less hair, and the doll is not particularly great quality (but it is cute; if you'd like the outfits, they will fit on the AG doll) The dolls in Germany are something else altogether. They're custom done, and really beautifully made - and priced accordingly. I would not give it to a young or "rough" child, to say the least.

I'm glad someone knew the true information. I didn't check them out too closely, since I knew Brooklynn was too little right now for anything like that. I was thinking that I had heard someone say how expensive they were, so that was enough to stop me from looking any further into it! :)

Lucky for you, it is a small store. Just a few racks of stuff on the way out of the entire group of attractions. I think I have a few others in my millions, so if I come across them, I will put them up for you.

I bought one for my mother in the shop IN Cinderella Castle (sorry can't remember the name). It was of a little girl dressed up as Cinderella. I loved it! They had tons of other ones, I plan on getting her another when I go next year. I know it's awful, but often times my sister and I joke about how we are going to divide up things when my mother passes away (she's only 46, so it's JUST a joke, please don't throw fire at me) and I annouced as soon as I handed my mom the PM that I was planning on having it back some day. My sister just laughed at me and promised me I could have it back. Again, just a running joke in the family...it's all in good fun. :)

Hi! Sorry, I didn't catch the price of anything when I was snapping the pics. They did have some Star Wars stuff for sale in the Lego store at DTD. I'm not sure if the Millenium falcon or Walker set were there. The other place to look for Star Wars legos would be at the gift shop at the exit to the Star Tours ride in DHS.

I'm subscribed to the resort gift shop thread and just love it... so I thought I'd come over here and subscribe to this one as well. I'm not a big shopper so I never thought I'd be so into these photos.. but honestly, any photos of anything having to do with Disney are just great!

I saw several different characters on these kinds of dresses throughout WDW, and I thought they were so cute! I wanted to get one for my granddaughter, but they didn't have them small enough for her. I think I'm just going to get one and let her grow into it, because your picture reminded me of how much I wanted one.

I agree about the Grand Floridian. I think about every part of it is beautiful!

I like to shop virtually, planning out what I hope to be able to buy when I'm there, and I'm acquiring quite a list! One thing I would love is that Partners Statue that you took a picture of. I wonder if it's like, 19.99 dollars or more likely 50 dollars. Did you have a peek, and do you remember MeMom?

I was thinking the same thing - my fiance loves the Partners statue and this would be the perfect present for him for our wedding (he's going to get me one of the glass roses from Beauty and the Beast :lovestruc )

I just wanted to say that though I have never been to Disney, this thread sure has made my day. Been kind of down in the dumps lately due to some personal stuff but these pics sure have cheered me up and made me more and more happy to be coming to Disney in April. :love:

Last Christmas time I went with a list. :santa: Just a small list. But it was like a scavenger hunt :woohoo: to see if I could pick up a couple things I had seen here and there on the Dis.

I posted another thread where I'm asking if anyone has seen what will be offered in the gift shops for this year's MVMCP. When I saw what was offered last year, a couple things were added for my 'scavenger hunt' before we went.

MeMom, those pics actually did help me. LOL I love that princess Minnie!!! I wanted to get some Disney Crocs for each of us but was scared to order them in case they didn't fit right, so I can just try them on at the store. I wanted to get a Disney Journal so I can do a trip report and remember everything. And with our local Disney store closing down, I have yet to find a Disney baseball cap. I'm sure we don't want to wear the crazy hats all the time. So thanks a lot!!! Now I know I don't have to kill myself looking for the stuff here, can just pick it up when we go down there!!! :woohoo:

bbrnca, you are so right. Normally I can window shop like the best of them and rarely cost him money (except when it comes to my pets). But I think he was screwed long before him signing the contract. Just because I saw that they have a Disney pet item shop. LOL He did sign the contract and I laminated the index card so I can put it in my bag everyday. That way if he starts complaining, I can just whip that bad boy out!!! :rotfl:

OMG... that's the first snowglobe I ever bought that started my Cinderella Collection! I got it over ten years ago. I guess mine the base is a little different (no logo on front), but the globe and castle are the same. LOVE IT! Very cool to see it's still around. I didn't see it when I was there last year.

the crocs are sold in all the resort gift shops, Mousegears, DTD, and many kiosks. So you should have no problem fiinding them.

Thanks for your help! My boys would like to get the dark blue Mickey crocs and I would like to get the sandal-type crocs (I believe they are called the Adera crocs). Do you think the CTD World of Disney store would carry the style I want, as well as the Mickey crocs?

Disney carries the Disney style crocs as in the picture. I have also seen the Disney Pirates of Carribean crocs there. But never any non-Disney style crocs.

Oh my Hubby is going to love all of the NBC/Jack Skellington stuff!!! I got him a stuffed Jack about a month ago and he said that he's going with us and sitting in our resort window. LOL

I'm also planning on getting each of us some Crocs the first day we are there too. Sure beats ordering them online and then them being the wrong size. At least we can try them on there. :thumbsup2

I'm not the poster of the pics, but these are most likely in the Villians shop at MGM DHS. That shop has amazing theming for its merchandise displays. That is the shop with the evil queen and her raven in the window.

This is a little OT, but I was in the local Disney Store today and there was an older man in the store taking all these pictures. I was laughing to myself wondering if he was a DIS'er in need of a Disney fix!! Before I found the Dis, I would have thought this guy was off his rocker taking photos in a store, but now I get it. Just thought others might appreciate the humor in this.

PLEASE please please tell me that this picture is from World of Disney? My boys and I are planning to buy crocs the first day we're at WDW (we'll be spending midday at DTD) and the Mickey crocs are the shoes both of my boys want to get. Those shoes are still there, right? Thanks! :flower3:

You can get any and all of the Disney Crocs at the Crocs website. They now even have Disney flip-flops and the fuzzy ones in a disney style (they are the "mammoth")

Tinkergirl - not the OP, but the doll heads look like the ones in the Germany doll shop at Epcot - where you can build a doll to your specs - hair color, costume, etc.

And the MVMCP merchandise is only sold at the MK during each MVMCP, and only at certain shops like Pin Traders in Frontierland or The Emporium on Main St.

I also love those Jim Shore figures! It combines 3 things I love: Christmas, Disney, and a quilt-look (I'm from the Quilt capitol of the world, Paducah KY, so it's a small requirement that I like them!)

My son-in-law is from Benton, KY.

The trouble with looking at all the Jim Shore stuff is that I want so many of them!

Honeybee8200 - Just be careful with plastic bowls and dishes for cats. Some of them can develop acne from plastic and get bumps on their chin. Per the vet we had to switch back to china and glass dishes for the cat because of that.

Also, I didn't find them super durable if you have a large chew-loving dog...my big oaf of a dog ate hers! :eek: :headache: It wasn't pretty...:scared:

Do they do dog leads for the like of a Labrador, you know the shorter sturdier type? My wife got a lead the last time we were there but I am sure its for smaller terrier types as its so long

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to shop but only when I am in DisneyWorld!!!!

I hate going to the mall here in Jersey, I hate the parking, dealing with salespeople who are not nice and don't want to be there etc.

That is why I save as much $$$ as I can and go a little wild. I have bought so many things over the years sometimes I get upset when nothing really new comes out for me to buy haha.

I did start collecting the Christmas Ornament collections that come in a book. Not too expensive and I think a nice keepsake.
