He has a very young face and with the hat on you don't see the gray.
My parents always miss the kids that can't make it too.
I'm the oldest of 5 and we rarely have all of us together due to schedules and stuff.

Here's mine from the late 60's by the Cuff Links
(Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance)
Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Tracy, when I'm with you
Somethin' you do
Bounces me off the ceiling
Tracy, day after day
When you're this way
I get a lovin' feelin'
Come with me
don't say "No"
Hold me close
Tracy never let go
Tracy, you're gonna be
Happy with me
I'll build a world around you
Filled with love everywhere
And when you're there
You'll be so glad I found you
Come with me, don't say "No"
Hold me close
Tracy, never, never, ever let me go
Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Come with me, don't say "No"
Hold me close,
Tracy, never, never, ever let me go
Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Never let me go
bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah
Tracy, never let me go
Bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah

T: hello
C:Hi honey
T:hey I need to call you back
CIs everything o.k
T:yeah fine I am going for a pirate
C:Huh?
T:really I need to call you back
C: o.k when do you think you can call me back?
T: honey it's a dash so i am not sure but I will call you back o.k
C: o.k then bye
Lucy you got some explaining to do.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I was sooo excited the other night when I got a pirate and attempted to explain to DH who was on the couch next to me... He still doesn't get it. I tell him "It's just a game we're playing" and he says "When do you get your prize?" :confused3 :confused3
"Do they mail it to us" "Is it one of the retired anamatronics from the ride?" :confused3

SOOOOO excited!!! I've actually started pulling stuff out of closets and drawers to start packing for ME :cool1: :lmao: I'm probably STILL not going to sleep tomorrow night because there's still a bazillion things to do before our flight Friday morning ... but at least I can now say that I've STARTED. DH told me tonight that he's done packing ... just a last few things to pack for the kids, and then the only one left to worry about is me ;) :woohoo:

So I'm deleting things off of my memory stick and I come across this PowerPoint Presentation that I had done on Panama for my Business Spanish class. Here are the important parts (read: best!) of the presentation. Maybe some of you will find it interesting. (FYI-- the whole presentation was done in Spanish so the captions are, well, they're not in English. And the Spanish is most definitely not perfect!)

OMG, 5 hours until we leave for the airport. I don't think I can go to sleep because I feel like if I fall asleep, I will never get up.
Today was just an insane day, trying to get everything done, plus trying to get a little spa time in too. Shouldn't have saved so much for last minute. Actually had a meltdown today: had a glitch with my contact lenses (and we DO NOT travel without spares - could ruin a vacation) hated everyone (family, friends), didn't want to go....yadda, yadda yadda. But after my second Pomegrante and Vodka, I am feeling just fine now, thank you very much.
So we are traveling with 5 suitcases, DHs is at the limit, I still have a little bit of room left in mine (about 10 lbs) and the garment bag is only about 27 lbs, so that is good. The girls should be within the limits. 2, maybe 3 carryons. I knew we were going to have to go to 5 bags, it was either that or go over the limit, and if I'm going to pay $25, I might as well have a whole other bag@

We are checking in two bags each .. plus I will have a rolling and laptop.. DH will have rolling and backpack.. I have no idea what MIL & fil have until they get here tonight.. :lmao:
My DS and DSF is taking us to the airport in the morning..
Have a safe trip
USAA told me 1% fee on the phone yesterday. Maybe it depends on which card you have. :confused3
Most used to hide the additional fee. The 1% was imposed by Visa/ M/C mso check your statements carefully.
We won't have pirate costumes either. DH wouldn't be caught dead in any kind of costume. He actually told me he wants to put a bag over his head so I don't embarass him with all this DIS nonsense.:rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl: I will try to talk him into at least wearing our pirate t-****s. I have some jewelry, a bandana and an eye patch that I might wear with some denim capris.
Why or why do the minutes seem like hours this week? Where is the time fairy? :sad2: I am not sleeping well either. DH just keeps asking why I am so "uptight". Yea, like you planned any of this cruise or did anything other than pack your clothes and the cameras (which aren't together yet and he has to get some videos off the hard drive of the camcorder :headache:). I really do love him but...15 days in confined quarters might lead to someone going overboard.:lmao:
Here is what we do. Since mine hasn't helped either, we can put them in the same room and you and I will bunk together :lmao: :lmao:
Just checking in..
Safe travels to those who are leaving..
I am sooo jealous but I guess someone has to hold the thread together ..:lmao:
Well yesterday was not my day.. after the mishap with the wallet, I went and got a hair cut and color after work.. and she was consistant.. good hair cut, bad haircut, good hair cut , bad haircut.. consistant..
I got home and each one of the boys commented to me.. "oh, you got your hair cut. new style??" they were trying to be polite.. normally ( on the good haircut cyle) they don't even notice or say anything.. but not this time..
:confused3 ;) when people meet me I know that they will smile and say hi but under their breath will be "wow, look at that bad haircut"..;) :confused3 or maybe I'll just wear a hat or a tiara...:wizard: :bride: princess:
then I got home and went to plug my laptop into the internet and get on chat and the thread but the internet was down.. DH looked at it and then Geoff (DS#1) and concluded that the router was fried... so no internet for me.. but I must have looked so sad with my bad haircut and sad face that they felt sorry for me and DH went to get a new router.. so Geoff has a project today to get it working...
7:30 am meeting and so the day goes... but only 3 days until TOAL
Susan. Most people here don't know what you look like so they don't have the "good haircut" to compare. We will think you look just fine :goodvibes
I won't even try to catch up today. Left work today at 1pm. Finished up a bit. Got hair done and took DS out to dinner. His birthday was yesterday. Then he brought the laptop over and showed me how to use it. Loaded lots of programs and we put some movies on the harddrive so I don't have to carry any discs. Tomorrow is crunch day.
Question for those at the Hojo. Is ther a fridge in the room? I will be ordering some stuff from Vons or Albertsons and was wondering about that.

Hi everyone!
I was on the WB repo--it was the trip of a lifetime! I know you all are going to have a BLAST!!! :cool1: Savor every single moment, take LOTS of photos (no one in our group complained that they'd taken too many pictures, but lots of folks wished they'd taken more, especially of cruise mates) and enjoy canal day. I'm reliving my excitement when I was just days away from sailing. Wish I could join you!!!!!
Have fun!!!

:wave2: Terri - have no fear -DH was like this too the first time we sailed with the DIS - didn't have any idea who they were but when pirate: night came around and that group have over 300 pirate: - he felt left out and on our next cruise - I made the mistake of renting a costume from a costume shop. He looked very good and got tons of complements while I had the cheapie halloween store costume trying to save some $$. I haven't had a problem since. In fact, we've sailed DCL so much we ended up having to buy our own costumes. We dress up but this time, DH is scaling down - says the full costume is too heavy and hot for him.
As for the "togetherness." I agree with you - after about 9 days - I'm dying for him to find his own excitement and not be stuck to me like glue. This time, I'm sticking like glue to Cheryl, then we only have to worry about the togetherness in the cabin. He has learned to take a walk when I start getting a little snippy. For his safety - he now takes off and leaves me alone for about 1 hr then I'm good to go for about a couple of hours.
DH is super nice and sweet but sometimes I need some me time. Best to leave me alone then.

We are stagnating too with the packing thing. We have 2 bags packed soooo many more to go :rotfl2:
Mouseketeer night is held in AP on a nonshow/event night. All of the servers dress up in mouseketeer costumes. Not sure what other activities happen. We thought that it would be fun to all dress up like mouseketeers too. I am sure we will have a sing-a-long or too.

We are going to dinner in San Pedro with the DT group on Saturday night and driving home that night. I think we will all sleep better at home than in a hotel room. We will then be driving to my DM and DF's house to leave the car in Palos Verdes and catching a shuttle to the port.

OK - so I need to pack a red shirt - I already got my Mousekateer door magnet - just wasn't sure on what you all were doing. I was off on one of my misadverntures. Didn't want to be left out. The servers use red t-shirt but I think the head servers use yellow. Not sure I have to double check on that.

That's right - I remember now. I got the pirate costumes almost packed but really, I don't know why I am resisting this packing. I was reading an article at the salon today - it was my turn to try and look pretty - didn't work! :rotfl2: Anyway, it said, when packing for a cruise/vacation. If you can't wear it 3 times - take it out. Good advice for this cruise. I'm not rearranging my mental packing list. I am taking out the extra pants I knew I will never use. :scratchin maybe I'll just pick up shirts on the way. I mean - after all, I'm going to be buying souvenirs - may as well use them. :lmao:

Hi everyone! I am way behind so I'll guess I'll catch up when I get back! We leave in just a few short hours! :yay: We are finally packed & taking 2 more suitcases than I had hoped, but oh well such is life! We have 8 bags to check & 4 carry ons for the 4 of us. I can not get over how much stuff we have & we aren't even packing costumes!
I worked all day yesterday on my FE & Pirate flag. I just wanted to add some things with iron-on transfers & nothing was working out the way I wanted. It took me hours & hours & then I worked on my FE gifts till the wee hours. Nothing like waiting till the last minute huh? I was so brilliant that I took the dowel out of the FE before I ironed it & I managed to sear the back & front together which means I no longer had a hole to put the dowel through. So I pushed & pushed trying to get it back through & I pulled my back out. :sad2: Oh well maybe DH will have to push me around DL! :rolleyes1
Anyway I just wanted to say bye & wish everyone a very safe trip! See ya on the...

I understand the light side of it. Sometimes laughter is the best thing. I can't help but think how it really would put a damper on things. I lost my MIL while we were on the Magic in AUG 06. They could have gotten a hold of us on the ship but left a message on our cell phones instead. When we woke up in port we turned our phones on and got the news. It was not a pretty sight walking off the ship with tears running down our faces. Not the normal sad tears to leave, more I was hysterical. We NEVER turn our phones on anymore till will clear the port. I debated on booking this cruise because we will be on the same ship at the same time, this year will be the 2nd anniversary and it's still hard. Sorry to ramble, felt like sharing my story.
Hey - totally understand that. In Sep 06 - I was on the 11 Night Wonder. Got a message via my DD who was at home that my BFF from High School ( I was also the godmother to her then 18 month old) had started to get sick. She had had a seizure at end of July, some more in the beginning of Aug. Then on Aug 25, I had gallbladder surgery. She called beginning of Sep asking me to take her to the docs but as I was getting ready to leave 3 days later - I hadn't even packed yet (:scratchin.......seems to be a reoccurring thing) so I begged off saying - "I'll try and stop by before I leave."
Well, as luck would have it - I DID NOT stop by, I packed loaded my DH, myself and my DS (it was celebration trip for him) onto the Magic. At St. Lucia, I was notified that she was VERY sick - almost into coma. I told DD who had notified DS who had notified me that her DH had called our house. I forgot, we left and in Antigua, right in the middle of the terminal, as we were shopping, DH went to the ship to drop off souvenirs and make room for more. Well, DD call DS who chased DH down who had to come and tell me in the terminal in Barbados that Loretta had passed that morning.
I was heartsick. It also happened to be my dad's birthday. I totally forgot and when I called mom - I had to pretend that I was calling for his birthday. I was sick, went back to the Wonder, asked Guest Services about getting off the ship. They told me to go and wait in room - someone would get back to me, they never did, I became aware of it as we left the port. I was soooo sick - I was also in shock and couldn't function.
I did however, make an awesome friend from this - I think it was Loretta's way of looking out for me - the next day one of my tablemates - we were at a table of 14 noticed that there was something wrong with me - she asked me and I am usually a very private person about things like this - I prefer to suffer in silence but for some strange reason, the dam burst and I spilled. Pam, DisneySweetie - almost a total stranger at that time, reached out and hugged me and tried to console me - almost a total stranger. So for that I am eternally grateful and consider her a good friend.
I learned from that experience - I am a Leo and we are rather proud, private people, but I learned that you can always reach out and try and console others. Since then, I have made a conscious effort to stay connected with friends and with our group of friends.
I wish I had learned before it was too late. But, now in memory of Loretta, I make an effort to do what Pam did for me - reach out and console - even if it means just a . Never undestimate the power of touch.
Sorry - didn't mean to be a downer just wanted others to know - you can always take a lesson out of something. BTW, my godson is now 3 yrs old and I see him on a regular basis. Calls me Nina too. :goodvibes

And I wasn't doing anything tonight - just goofed around with mom. Dang - I could have gone.
On a note, I was walking the furr kids when 15 ft from the house, a loose German Shepard (loose) decided to make nice and came loping across the street. True to her nature - Chloe - the white one - all looks and no brains - waves her pretty curly tail and goes to sniff. While Isis, my diva - stands guard. All looked to be nice -(remember - I'm afraid of German Shepards) when the GS turned to Isis too rapidly and she snarled, launched herself and they got into a squirmish. About scared me half to death as for the first time I put them on a split leach. You all know the one - one leash but its split into 2. Well, they tangled me up and the dogs are lunging around me. All I could do was scream out my son's name. Luckily he had his upstairs window open. Took 2 screams but then he came running out and threw his shoe at the German Shepard and ended up having to pick up Isis - all 51 lbs of her to calm her down. She has always been a friendly dog and I've only known her to snap at those dogs that invade her or nip her. Scared me as I have not seen her snarl like that in a long time.
Don't know whether that is a good thing or not. I mean they were on leash so that was good - and she was protecting me - she might have smelled the fear on me - (I was bitten by a GS when I was little) so she reacted. She reacted this way when I was thrown off the bike by another chow mix. Then she ran off with the dog to play so I prefer to think she was protecting me. YUP! That's what I'm going to think.
Wow - where is everybody. You'd think they were all on vacation or something. :lmao:

Okay fellow repo cruises, I need opinions please! We're getting a little paranoid because we're schedule to land at 12:30...with the ship leaving at 4, that's not much leeway. Tony has double-booked us (I LOVE SW) so we can fly out either Sat. night or Sun. morning. It looks like we could get an airport hotel w/shuttle at a decent rate. So what would y'all do? I hate to abandon our pets for an extra day (a sitter is coming in but it will still be traumatic), but I'd also hate to miss the ship and be swimming to Cabo to catch up!
Probably asked and asnwered but with the way things are going - don't take a chance unless you booked with DCL. Then they have no choice but to wait for you.
Can Dh join the bah humburg cruise club? He is not sure he wants to know anyone and will look embarresed to be seen with me and my "imagary friends"
leave Sat nite.. i am so nervous about leaving the day of the flight.. what if something goes wrong? and the way airlines are today it can go wrong..
that's my thoughts
Sure- the more the merrier and plus we might be able to guilt them into particpating. :rotfl:
If we had it to do all over again I would arrive on Saturday. We don't get to LAX (if everything goes as planned) until 11:50. We only have 40 minutes in DFW to change planes. No direct flights from our area. I would even go for staying in DFW (DH has family there) overnight and flying from there Sunday morning, but we already booked through DCL and it is too late to change things now.
Well Terri, at least your booked through DCL and they will wait for you if they have too. If your not booked with them, then the ship will leave w/o you. If they do leave, they will have to get you onboard. So you have not worries. your fine.
Actually, there are quite a few So Cal people who won't be leaving until as late as 9:00am! ;)
Y'all are guilting me into an earlier pick-up time. We are not scheduled to be picked up until 12:30-12:45. Should I have scheduled for an earlier time? Dang it! Wonder if its too late to change?
Course, we'll probably still be adding last minute things. :sad2:

It was closed out (1/2 of this crew is in or on way to California already).
If you put a FE out, odds are you will get stuff in it.
I just found out about this website a day ago! I'm sad about the fish extender program being closed. It sounded like a lot of fun!!! Can we still sign up to be involved in the group????
http://mspmg.photobucket.com/albums/v631/chokeyd/Dancing.gif
We'll find a way to wriggle ya onto the list. Although it is formally closed... I for one have a couple of "extras"....
Now bear in mind... I'm not in charge...
and I'm sure there are some who consider me to be ...
a trouble maker!
Though it's probably too late to be "official" (many have already printed out their maps), If you put up a fish extender, especially if it has the Capt Jack logo on it or a door magnet, odds are anyone who has extras (which will be most people I'd expect) will toss something in there. Feel free to download the maps and put stuff in other people's FE's (starting with the best stuff in the cabins at deck 6 mid-ships :rolleyes1 ).
I can't remember the final number, but I think it was over 120 cabins in the end - I think I bought for like 140 or so.

Dan - Julie told me it was 140. :scared1: FREDS4 - I made extras so if you post your cabin number again - I can make a note on my map. Also, Julie - I believe she is cabin 6050 has a dry erase board for any upgrades. Also, I will be bringing a memo board too so I will put any info on there too. I am in room 2100.

:wave2: Michelle,
I figured since we leave about 1/2 hr from the port to time it so that we get to there just as the rooms open. We've been on there so much this summer that I don't want to eat onboard. However, I forgot that I have a lot more friends on here than the last time. So I could have played friendly and waited like the rest. But I hate crowds. So I figure we should be getting onboard around 1:30. Barring anymore health outbreaks that is.
SIGH! OK - guess I can go and attempt to pack my camera bag.

I almost called you to ask....if you are bored tomorrow night (not sure if you have DL pass or not) we are meeting for the EP in DCA.
In regards to my cousin - thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers. It was very strange for me today...although I am heartbroken over the loss of her..I felt it was important for DD that we keep on with our plans. I will not be able to go to the funeral as it is in Michigan on Fri. My Aunt called to give me the funeral arrangements...it happened so quick...yesterday she wasn't feeling well and went to the ER..she wasn't even checked into the hospital yet and went to the restroom and had a heart attack when the clot went to her heart. They said it was quick and I hope she did not suffer.
Ok..I really have to get some rest..to many nights of insomnia....going to Long Beach Airport in the morning to pick up a fellow pirate.

My Aunt called to give me the funeral arrangements...it happened so quick...yesterday she wasn't feeling well and went to the ER..she wasn't even checked into the hospital yet and went to the restroo and had a heart attack when the clot went to her heart. they said it was quick and I hope she did not suffer.
Hey Des -
:grouphug:
As for tomorrow - DH is again ( ) going to play poker so I may go - depends on if I can find my AP. I always have it but it has disappeared from the slot. Maybe I'll go and look for it now.

Look for it! I would sign you in but I am still in my blackout period for CM! :sad1: I can drag you along with me tomorrow nite tho for parking purposes if you want...give me a call if you want to!
Ok..honest..I'm leaving (of course..I will never post #2000 if I stay busy and away from the boards!)

I want to be there eary to meet up with everyone!

Well, I'm pretty sure I have enough - but whatever it is - it's sitting in a box somewhere at Grand California waiting for our arrival :cool2:

Ok..I am out the door..going to meet up with Crusin Mike and family for a Target run...and then on to dinner tonight with some fellow pirates!
Hope everyone is having a great day and trying to be stress free...
Ack! Everyone seems to be meeting everyone else already- the only person iv'e met is you! (desiree) for a few moments to get the lanyards and stuff. Everyone is here but i'm not seeing anyone... or meeting anyone.... I hope we don't have a repeat of the last cruise in which I talked to everyone for years before the cruise and then went on the cruise expecting to see everyone and only saw a few people out of the TONS of dis'ers that went on that cruise too!

mean old car, parking where it doesn't normally park!
DH even has this as my ringtone on his phone! :sad2:
Where it began, I can't begin to know when
But then I know it's growing strong
Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo
And spring became the summer
Who'd believe you'd come along
Hands, touching hands, reaching out
Touching me, touching you
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
I've been inclined to believe it never would
And now I, I look at the night, whooo
And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two, oh
And when I hurt
Hurting runs off my shoulder
How can I hurt when holding you
Oh, one, touching one, reaching out
Touching me, touching you
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
Oh I've been inclined to believe it never would
Ohhh, sweet Caroline, good times never seem so good
Maybe you could show our pirate: Navigator!
really now :confused3 :rotfl2:
I used to do the embroidering on hats when I worked at DL!
That's cool.
I was impressed that the machines did it and they put in the names and voila- within a minute or so it's done. They did our 4 hats within like a minute and a half. (several machines at once) Very cool!
Well everyone.. we went went back to DL for another 7hrs or so- although we did NOT make it to midnight again. We left about 9:30pm- kids were getting tired and I didn't press them to stay because my feet were hurting. LOL (blisters and aching feet!)
Kids zonked out really quickly and I'm heading to bed soon too. tomorrow's plans are DCA in the morning/half the day or so, probably come back to HOJO in early afternoon and have lunch in our room, kids will probably want to swim again- and then head back to DCA until 9pm, meeting Wendy/etc. at electrical parade at 8:15pm is the plan... then if we can manage it- we'll go to DL till midnight. not sure if that will really pan out staying up that late though. LOL
And then Friday at HOJO all day- kids swim, wash a load or so of clothes..... and DH flies in Friday night. then DL and DCA all day saturday with the daddy man.... who I miss so very dearly at this moment and can't wait till he's here because I know my kids will act like totally different kids when he's here. :rotfl:
Hope I manage to get to the meet on time tomorrow- otherwise I might not meet anyone else till fantasmic on Saturday night! geesh..... don't want a repeat of what happened last time. I suppose maybe I should have planned more MEETS with people while here in Ca before the cruise- ya think? LOL
hope everyone is getting packed and/or safe travels if you're travelling now.... can't wait to meet you all, if not here-- hopefully on the cruise!

Hey Des - They will not open the terminal until at least 10 am. When we left in July - we got off the ship at 10:15 and they still hadn't opened up the terminal. I'd wait a bit - as hard as that sounds - especially if your mom's in a wheelchair. Plus - all the die hards (know anybody like that? :rolleyes1 ) who have gotten there like at 10 will be in front of you making for a long wait. Unless they are polite and let the wheelchair in front - which if that's the case - I say go for it! :rotfl2: Exploit - Exploit, Exploit!
Now off to search something else for that pass.

Greetings all! We went to DCA and DL today. Ended up being given a PH for our WDW tickets and didn't realize it until almost 2. We did get to see the fireworks from the hub's front curb and then headed to Fantasmic and sat in the second row of people at the far left open seating area at the 10:30 show. After hearing how we weren't going to make it I did not expect to get such good seats. The fireworks were delayed 10 minutes due to the wind conditions too...so there is hope. :) It's DL for us tomorrow and will stay until we can't stand up anymore. It was a little hot for a couple hours but things cooled off by 4/5 and stayed nice the rest of the day.

Hey Lisa - tomorrow night - keep an eye on the CM's doing parade duty - if they hold up their flashlights between their hands horizontal - that means fireworks have been cancelled. They will not be allowed to say anything until a few minutes past the scheduled start. Sometimes they know ahead of time Just thought I'd give you a heads up. This is a signal for others CM's and it gets passed on down the road. However, they will not confirm or deny. Just say - they have to wait. If you see it - beat the rush and get out.
Have fun!

Hi everyone! I am way behind so I'll guess I'll catch up when I get back!

Yes!! So jealous of everyone who's already in CA or who are leaving soon, but at least just 2 more work days and then we're out of here!! I started some packing last night and immediately realized there was no way I was going to fit everything into one suitcase and the wheeled duffle. I pride myself on minimal packing, but there was just no way. So now I'm also taking a small suitcase to carry-on. I hate having carry-ons, normally it's just my backpack I wear on, but what can you do. DS is going to have to wheel the carry-on, at least until I get the other bags checked in.
And I'm ignoring the scratchy throat I have this morning. I refuse to accept that it might have anything to do with DS's cold that turned into a sinus infection. Will not be sick. Will not be sick.

Today is my Friday   :yay: :yay: So to all those leaving early safe trip to everyone. Cheryl and I will be on our way 8:00 am Saturday. Wish we were there now.
Some of you we will see Saturday night, the rest on Sunday. Can't wait to meet all of you. Oh yeah please don't encourage Cheryl to be getting up on the tables. :dancer:  the insurance won't cover her falling off.
John
John, I'm not sure we're going to be able to undo months of encouraging her in just a few days. :rotfl2:

1 more sleep to go - yay!
Have to work tomorrow morning but will finish at lunch time. I have a busy morning planned so it should fly by.
See you all soon!
Gosh - seeing all of you excited has made me excited! I'm in panic mode as I can't find my AP. I know I shouldn't get a replacement just ask for a courtesy pass but if I go and get a new picture for my replacement, come next month when I have to renew - maybe they can use my new picture. Sorta like the DMV - you pay to upgrade a photo. ::yes:: HM...... might be able to sell DH on that one. :confused3 Worth a try if I get to see my friends tomorrow night - Des - I'm coming with you - you may not have invited but I'll come with you! :lmao:
UM.....John - Cheryl has to dance - maybe not on the tables but on the chair in Rocking Bar D or perhaps the stage??????? Please - DH doesn't dance and I need a dancing partner - its either Cheryl or you.
Or as one of the Blackstreet Boys said on the cruise in July - they were taking a picture with the resident star - Joey Fatone. "A Joey Sandwich" - or Oreo but I prefer a John sandwich ok? :rotfl2:

Where it began, I can't begin to know when
But then I know it's growing strong
Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo
And spring became the summer
Who'd believe you'd come along
Hands, touching hands, reaching out
Touching me, touching you
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
I've been inclined to believe it never would
And now I, I look at the night, whooo
And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two, oh
And when I hurt
Hurting runs off my shoulder
How can I hurt when holding you
Oh, one, touching one, reaching out
Touching me, touching you
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
Oh I've been inclined to believe it never would
Ohhh, sweet Caroline, good times never seem so good
:headache: I would have to kill mine!:lmao:

In regards to my cousin - thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers. It was very strange for me today...although I am heartbroken over the loss of her..I felt it was important for DD that we keep on with our plans. I will not be able to go to the funeral as it is in Michigan on Fri. My Aunt called to give me the funeral arrangements...it happened so quick...yesterday she wasn't feeling well and went to the ER..she wasn't even checked into the hospital yet and went to the restroom and had a heart attack when the clot went to her heart. They said it was quick and I hope she did not suffer.
Desiree - my heart goes out to you and your family. Prayers and Peace to all of you.

I asked this last night, but mistakingly did so during one of those posting competitions... For those aren't taking the pirate bus from Anaheim, is anyone using a private car or taxi? I am wondering the cost. I booked Super Shuttle and it is $60 for the two of us, so, I thought a car or taxi might not be that much more. Also, we wouldn't have to leave at 8 am. I wanted to get to the port close to 10 so that we could get on early and book Palo's brunch and tea if at all possible.
Thanks!!

So I am on the verge of a breakdown. We might not be going. My Dad is feeling worse and does not think he wants to go at all. He has diverticulitis. My Mom refuses to go if my Dad does not go. My Dad is telling us to go without him. My Dad says knowing all of us will stay home makes him feel worse. They keep going back and forth. Who knows what will happen.
Just keep my whole family in your prayers. Especially that my Dad feels better. I really want to go on the trip. But perhaps it is just not meant to be.
I still have to pack. So I guess I am off to shower and pack and prepare for the trip I may or may not be going on.

Usually they let Rich go in the front with his scooter. I told you once they put us on so early, we were the only ones wandering the ship til they opened things up.
Gosh everyone is traveling. We go tomorrow. Today is crunch day. I got crash course with the laptop. Have to see DD to get her case for it. And a few other chores. Please don't go for another Pirate!!!!!!! I left about 20 pages unread.:lmao:

We are going to dinner in San Pedro with the DT group on Saturday night and driving home that night. I think we will all sleep better at home than in a hotel room. We will then be driving to my DM and DF's house to leave the car in Palos Verdes and catching a shuttle to the port.
Hey Roger, I am not signed up for dinner but will be stopping by to say " Hi " I look forward to meeting you and everyone else.

:goodvibes
You sure know how to make a girl cry.:sad2: My DH is also a leo the 26th. Not a downer............good life lesson to pass on to others. Thanks for sharing.:flower3:

Hi everyone! We are here! Our train trip was awesome and I am in my room at the Disneyland Hotel looking at the rides in California Adventure as we speak! :)
So, did we ever figure out how we would identify ourselves at DL park? I heard someone talking about going on the cruise while I was in the pool yesterday, but I didn't recognize her. BUT, I really started thinking about it and I only actually see pictures of a few of you...any advice? Thanks everyone!!!! Can't wait to see you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still have 2 days of work (at least my body will be here, my mind is at DL). I am not busy, so it makes it even worse. I could probably take off tomorrow, but that would just make the time drag even more. I have one last trip to Wal Mart to pick up anything I forgot and food for Mom and DD while we are gone.
My DD talked her boyfriend into coming up for the weekend so he could take us to the airport. We are having them drive my car so they don't have to pay for gas. Plus our luggage wouldn't fit in her little car. Looks like we will be paying about $150 for the extra bags. We have 2 bags each (4 total) and American charges for each bag and Delta charges for the second bag. I could fit it in 3 bags, but then there won't be room for bringing anything back.
I am glad to read DH will have lots of company from other DHs who are like minded. And right now he is not exactly on my good side. He decided to rinse out the snorkeling gear in my tub. Well when I went to take a bath last night you guessed it, it was full of sand. His answer - I rinsed it out. Got to love him. Anybody want one slightly used husband? Now I know why this man didn't get married until he was 35.:lmao:
Those leaving today, have a safe trip. Those still around - please keep me company so I don't go crazy.:rotfl2:

Man oh Man -
NO way to ketchup!!!! A pirate: run no less.
Okay - we're packing - AND I'm still making lists!! Checked in online for both the TOAL and the 5 day cruise followng. Oh yeah & what we're wearing for the flight Fri. - kinda forgot about that.
Happy and Safe Travels to all !!!!
This TOAL is just going to be too much fun!!!
Check back later -------
You have lists?:rotfl2: I have just been throwing my closet into suitcases. :rotfl2:
:headache: :headache:
:lmao:
Wow I didn't realize we had so much in common.:rotfl2: When I was a kid I was attacked by my Aunt & Uncle's German Shepard. The dog knew me??:confused3 I will never forget my Aunt screaming cover your face as she beat the dog with a newspaper to get the dog off of me. Funny how I don't remember going back after that.:rotfl2: I still have all the scars on my shoulder from him.
OK this is just sad. :sad2: Now, I'm not just talking to myself, I'm also responding to myself. Is that a sign of being
That's not so bad?:rotfl2: Have you ever had mulitiple conversations?:rotfl2:

The Moms all arrive here on Friday and on Saturday morning we'll be on the road to San Pedro!! :woohoo:
We've suffered a few setbacks...which is part of the reason I haven't been around (also was gone for 10 days) but picking up the pieces and moving forward.
Can't wait to see everyone....starting with dinner at the Doubletree on Saturday.
I honestly still can't believe this is finally happening. :yay:
Hi Stace: Hope you get the pieces picked up. :wizard: Looking forward to meeting you at the DT.:)
Wow-Finally caught up. Glad to see everyone is having a good time in Cali. Safe travels to those who have not left yet or are on their way. Laura you proubably safe until tomorrow when Andrew pops open that laptop.Have fun with your run. I really need to get to bed I really need to start packing in the morning. Wish me luck. I have till 3:00 sunday morn our plane leaves at 5:30.
Goodnight all!
Just wanted to get one last post in before heading off to the airport. We will be leaving in a few minutes, and I really hope I haven't forgotten anything. Did catch about 3 hours sleep, not too bad.
Will see some of you tonight (how weird id that) at the parade.
Safe travels to all who still have to journey!

So my parents are on their way to the emergency room. This is because the doctor wants a cat scan and blood work done. If things look good he will probably plan on flying out Saturday. If not who knows.
Not sure what the other 3 of us will decide to do. We could leave today or all try to fly out together. Or my brother and I could fly out today and the rest later. I do not think they will rent gimpy me a rental car. So we would probably have to pay more for my brother to rent it.
I have to figure out how to pack by myself now. I was supposed to have a visit from the packing fairy but they could not make it.;) :lmao: I have stuff thrown in the bag and on the floor. But it needs to be organized. Since I can not move the bag to something higher, I guess I will try and get on the floor and hope I can get up. Other wise I remain there until someone else returns.:3dglasses
Thank heavens for trip insurance. If we end up canceling we should get the money back. Or it should cover the changes.
Thanks for the good thoughts.

Hi everyone!
I was on the WB repo--it was the trip of a lifetime! I know you all are going to have a BLAST!!! Savor every single moment, take LOTS of photos (no one in our group complained that they'd taken too many pictures, but lots of folks wished they'd taken more, especially of cruise mates) and enjoy canal day. I'm reliving my excitement when I was just days away from sailing. Wish I could join you!!!!!
Have fun!!!
That was very sweet for you to come over. I wish I was on your trip too. I know the feeling.:sad2:
We are stagnating too with the packing thing. We have 2 bags packed soooo many more to go :rotfl2:
Mouseketeer night is held in AP on a nonshow/event night. All of the servers dress up in mouseketeer costumes. Not sure what other activities happen. We thought that it would be fun to all dress up like mouseketeers too. I am sure we will have a sing-a-long or too.
We had mouseketeers night on the 10 day cruise. It was just fun to see all the wait staff dressed in ears. If I recall....we got a little present that night.:thumbsup2
Hi everyone!
I knew I would miss the pirate: !
I won't even attempt to ketchup..been gone to many hours today. met up with Crusin Mike for a store run...
Then DD and I played around in DTD until it was time to meet up for dinner...had lots of fun (will post a picture later- to tired!) Met up with Michelle, Mary Ann, Christopher/June and familes...Tiggerbaby stopped on by on the way back to her hotel.
Well..calling it a night! More fun stuff tomorrow!
Keep up the good work getting rid of those lanyards.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Castoff..Tina and Chuck will be at DT too!!
Hi everyone! I am way behind so I'll guess I'll catch up when I get back! We leave in just a few short hours! We are finally packed & taking 2 more suitcases than I had hoped, but oh well such is life!
Oh well maybe DH will have to push me around DL!
Anyway I just wanted to say bye & wish everyone a very safe trip! See ya on the...
TOAL!!!
Safe trip by mike's buddy.

John would be honored!!:thumbsup2
We made it to OIA. I also managed to save us $180.00....Both of our bags were overweight....:scared1: ....So picture my mom and I, outside the airport frantically trying to rearrange our luggage. I'm personally carrying 15 lbs of shoes with me onto the plane LOL.....and I'm going to have to shove my purse into the carry on bag that my mom had packed in her suitcase for extra stuff so I'm not accused of trying to bring more than my one allotated carry on and personal item. Thank God she packed the bag, we'd have been stuck is she hadn't.....
Hope everyone who is still traveling has a safe trip......
Ouch!!!Good thing of a little fast packing!!:cheer2:
We are supposed to leave today.
I hope you all have a great day.
I hope things work our for you.

I think you are going to miss the oldest ones this trip!!!;)
We are!!! Jon was already sad about it!
Jon said *I don't even want to do any of the tastings since I won't have them with me.*
Did you know that during the beer tasting that Katherine nearly won the chugging contest??? :rotfl2: She made her father proud! :thumbsup2 And it was dark beer! :rotfl:
Your pictures are amazing. You have a beautiful family.:goodvibes
Thank you! And they're lots of fun to be around!!
Wait until he finds out that the *prize* is knowing US! :lmao:
Debi
I know you've already left.... But, I can understand the melt down!
I may have to start drinking.... I went to a new Dr yesterday and when I told her about the stress, trip, flights, etc....she told me *We don't prescribe things for that.* :confused3 I'm having a PANIC attack and her office doesn't prescribe anything for that????
She offered me sleeping pills!!!!

WHEW!
Double Whew - I can rest easy now. :hippie:
And I can Also say that I  her hair - I wish I had the guts to go that short. It does look awesome on her. I'm jealous. Go figure - there's no pleasing us women.
:) She does look great in short hair -- which is really good because she has her grandmothers fine, thin yucky hair! If it grows to her shoulders it starts looking flyaway and awful.
:lmao:
That is what I have decided! I usually end up with way too many unworn pants by the end of a cruise.
I figure I can rewear the bottoms, sink wash some of the tops & buy a couple new tops. :thumbsup2
nothing better then a nice picture with DOTD!
That's how dh feels! LOL!
The kids got their drinking skills from their dad! :rotfl2:
:goodvibes
I'm sorry about your friend but, I think it is wonderful that you were able to make a new friend fromt he experience!
I agree about us Leos being proud/private. My *epiphany* came when I found out they needed to deliver 7dd early and they weren't sure she was going to be alright.

Wow, we spent 1 day at Universal yesterday and it took me forever to get through all of your posts. Foolishly volunteered to be in the sound effect shows and at one point had to keep speaking in a higher voice to play tinkerbell in the show.
I am still trying to get a car service to take us from Newport Coast to the port. Any local suggestions would be appreciated. That is on my schedule today - probably after taking the family to the beach. Being east coasters, it is an event to go to a Pacific beach.

What time Eastern Standard time does the Disney Magic go through the Panama Canal for the Live Web Cam's? My Family would like to watch us go through. I know I have seen this information somewhere, but I can't find it now!! Anyone have an idea??
http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/DCL-Navigators/8-20-05/pages/NAVS09001.htm
We won't know for sure, but the 2005 scheduled had the following times (ADJUSTED TO EASTERN STANDARD TIME):
Entering Miraflores Locks - 9:20am
Departing Miraflores Locks - 10:40am
Entering Pedro Miguel Locks - 11:00am
Departing Pedro Miguel Locks - Noon
Passing Gamboa - 1:10pm
Entering Gatun Locks: 3:50pm
Clearing Gatun Locks: 7:00pm
Isn't this adjusted to Eastern Daylight Savings Time? Panama is on EST and doesn't do DST, so they would be an hour behind east coast time.

Laura.....I am so glad I was there for you that day. I remember it very well. It may have just been a hug and a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen, but I felt it was the least I could do. So glad we are friends now!!!
Have a fantastic cruise and I will see you in just a few weeks in Florida!!

Great - he's not upset but now I have to sit here and pretend interest in the fact that 2 professional poker players wanted to "stake" DH in the big tournament. Guess when? ::yes:: While we are gone.
Shucks honey - that's too bad. But don't they know you already give 1/2 your earnings out? If you give them their share and then you give me mine - what does that leave you with?
OK - so I'm greedy - I don't like to share. :confused3
Can you really blame a girl?
:rotfl: :rotfl: I LOVED the *pretend* interest part! LOL! I've done that many times! :lmao:

We are supposed to leave today.
I hope you all have a great day.

Oh did anyone see this?:
Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories per day
By Chris Chase
After he retires from swimming, Michael Phelps might want to try his hand at competitive eating. The Olympic star recently said he consumes 12,000 calories per day, or 9,500 more than the FDA recommends for an active, young male.
Phelps has to keep his intake up in order to compensate for all the calories he burns during the 30-hours per week he spends in training. He told NBC that an average day might have the following menu:
Breakfast: 3 fried egg sandwiches, 2 cups coffee, 5-egg omlette, bowl of grits, 3 pieces of french toast, 3 chocolate chip pancakes
Lunch: 1 pound pasta, 2 ham and cheese sandwiches, energy drink (1,000 calorie)
Dinner: 1 pound pasta, 1 large pizza, energy drink (1,000 calorie)
Three years ago, Phelps told an interviewer:
I eat pretty much whatever I want. I don't have a strict diet. It's all about cramming in as many calories into my system as I possibly can. To be honest with you, I have a tough time keeping weight on.
Michael better be careful there. There's no surer way to turn new female fans into former female fans than by complaining about how hard it is to keep on weight.

Just skimming through.....finally got the WiFi to work at this motel....DS is literally rolling on the floor laughing over this....he wants this as a door magnet....if anyone is still at home and would be willing to make us one, I'd be grateful. We're in cabin 5013.
We'll be leaving shortly. Decided to take it slow this morning. Will stop at Pinks, then head to our hotel, finally head into the parks shortly after noon I'm guessing.
Realized on the drive that I forgot my Mickey Mail. I do have the contract printed so all I needed was the luggage tags. I'll have to speak with the porters at the terminal and get some. If that's all I've forgotten, then I think I've done quite good.

Thanks!!
One more day for us....
Not sure of a typical cost, but I can tell you that non-airport runs do cost more. With the airport runs, they are constantly going back and forth anyway, so they generally charge less.
Maybe call Primetime and get a quote that way you can compare??

I want to go, but at the same time feel bad going because my parents will not be there. I just do not know what to do. I know I would have a good time with just my brother, but I do not know what to do. He does not know what to do.
What to do? What to do? What to do? I don't know. I don't know I don't know.
GO GO GO!!!
DH and I talked about what we would do if one of us got sick and couldn't go. We both insisted we wanted the well person to go. It is hard enough missing a trip because of your own illness, but having your family miss it too because of your illness is really depressing. I vote you go anyway. Keep in touch with your Dad via email so he can experience it through your reports and book another trip on board for everyone to go another time:hug:
That's just my opinion though. You're going to be less than happy with either option. Good luck:flower3:
If one of us DIED before Sunday monring the others would still be going!!! :rotfl2:
Steph - you have a great looking family! They look like a lot of fun.
Penny
Thank you!!! :goodvibes
Oh did anyone see this?:
Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories per day
By Chris Chase
10ds & I were talking about that this morning. When dh used to play roller hocky and was skating a couple of nights (a total of probably 7 hrs of skating a week) week....he had to consume at least 3,000 extra calories a day (everyday not just the days he skated) otherwise he would start dropping weight like crazy. And dh was in his late 30's!!!! When he was in his early 20's I can't imagine how many calories a day he would of had to consume!!!

I guess when its the week before your wedding there's no time to DIS?
I was thinking the same thing yesterday. :lmao:
So my Dad is not going because the doctor is recommending he stay home. My Mom is probably staying home. Although my Dad is still trying to convince her to go. My brother and I have no clue what we are doing.
We need to decide soon. Our Aunt is supposed to show up at 2pm to take us to the airport. He is still at work. I have to pack if I am going. Thank goodness Elizabeth is already on vacation. Or she might be knocking at my door.;) :rotfl:

Here are some thoughts:
Will you worry so much about your Dad it will affect your fun?
Would it make your Dad feel worse that he "ruined" everyone's vacation?
Could he get much worse from this or just a nuisance illness?
Just checking in to get my afternoon's USRDA of Panama Canal Cruise excitement. Safe travels to everyone heading out today! Over here, we're frantically getting things together since we're leaving a day earlier than planned. The excitement keeps ratcheting up...I just can't wait till Sat. when we're airborne and on our way to CA! I probably won't sleep a wink that night in anticipation of seeing the Magic. :thumbsup2
Only thing I'm NOT looking forward to is the three hour time change from FL time...ugh.
Glad you made the decision to come in a day early. :thumbsup2

Just skimming through.....finally got the WiFi to work at this motel....DS is literally rolling on the floor laughing over this....he wants this as a door magnet....if anyone is still at home and would be willing to make us one, I'd be grateful. We're in cabin 5013.
Monica,
I'm going to day to get more magnet paper. I'll do it -- it is probalby going to be that size though since I can't figure out how to make *fullsize*! LOL!

I am so sorry he won't be able to go. You need to do whatever you feel the most comfortable doing. If this is something he will feel better soon..you should go! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks!!
One more day for us....
We have 4 of us from the DT in San Pedro to Port (about 2 miles) for $50. Don't know if this is helpful

The poor housecleaner is used to our house being more challenging :rolleyes1 than her other houses but.... I felt so sorry for her when she saw my bedroom yesterday. There is maybe 2 square feet that is not covered but that might even be a stretch. I quickly told her I did not need my bedroom cleaned. Poor lady.
The good news is I am paying her the whole time we are gone so that should keep her from throwing in her dust mop.

That would be me. My DS started with his cold last week and is on antibiotics for a sinus infection. I started up with the cold last week. Knock wood it's not so bad yet, but I might just blow off work tomorrow because I'm so tired, and I still need to finish packing by tomorrow night.

When we had someone that did our house....we were the only *family* she cleaned for! All the other days of the week she cleaned for either a single woman (my mom) or older couples (IL's & a couple of their friends) Not only were we a mess but, she had our youngest following her around talking to her the entire time! LOL!
I was so glad when she got another family to clean for but, their kids were gone all day so, it wasn't quite the same. ;)

unapacked and repacked some last night and this morning. Took out some of the just in case clothes lol I figure if we need to we'll buy stuff.
The final tally is 4 checked bags.....2 suitcases 1 garment bag 1 duffel..........
1 carryon (the small suitcase thingy)
DH's backpack
And my SAK bag (I love this bag---fits soooo much)
Nothing much in those bags though-----the important paperwork, camera, and prescription meds.
Everything else will be checked....now hopefully Delta doesnt lose any luggage.

Isn't this adjusted to Eastern Daylight Savings Time? Panama is on EST and doesn't do DST, so they would be an hour behind east coast time.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=192
Your times seem to be right tho
Yeah..I just knew that we were currently an hour ahead of Panama, didn't really pay attention to it being daylight savings time reasons versus thinking it was central time reasons. Someone wanted times for their family on the east coast though, and I think the end result was right.:)
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Leave for the airport in 2-1/2 hours. But have to mow yard first:rolleyes: which is creating anxiety for DW because I keep adding stuff to my list.
Look forward to cruising with all of you great people. It's made it so much more fun anticipating the cruise being here sharing for 18+ months. Anyone who hasn't left...have a safe trip out. :wizard:
What to do? What to do? What to do? I don't know. I don't know I don't know.
I certainly won't attempt to make your decision for you. I'll just promise you lots of prayers for your dad and the rest of you. May whatever decision you make bring you some peace of mind!

Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories per day
The Olympic star recently said he consumes 12,000 calories per day, or 9,500 more than the FDA recommends for an active, young male.
Phelps has to keep his intake up in order to compensate for all the calories he burns during the 30-hours per week he spends in training.
AAaahhhhh . . . that's the problem with me. I think I have the intake part down pat. It's the activity that I should probably think about adding!!! :lmao:

So I guess I am going. I gotta finish shoving stuff in bags. If I do not have it I will have to do without. My Mom and Dad are still at the hospital waiting for test results. We could not twist my Mom's arm enough to get her to go. I know she is going to worry about me in my gimpy state. Afterall I am still on crutches and am taking a wheelchair.
I gotta find stuff that was packed in my parents luggage that we need. Let's just say today has been crazy.
I gotta go. I will sse some of you soon. I hope you all have great weeks. I should be able to post from the hotel.
