View Full Version : Decorate Cabin Doors?

I have seen friends' pix from other cruise lines where the passengers decorate the outsides of their doors. They hang garland leis or battery operated twinkle lights, etc. When we were on the Magic last year, we did not see anyone do this. Does anyone know if it "is done"? Is it okay with DCL to do it?

A fellow cruiser suggested bringing a red bow to put on the door. That would make it easier to find our room. We are cruising the week after Thanksgiving and the ship will be decked out so we will add to the festive atmosphere. And we wont forget our Christmas hats!

We have seen this only a few times in 20 cruises. It must be allowed, as we've seen it on a couple of occasions (seemed to be for birthdays or other special occasions).

I decorated our door with a great American Flag magnet....you know the big ones about 7 x 10 inches. They are sold all over now since 9/11. The doors are metal so magnets stick great. This way is was much easier to spot our door. I also put the magnetic bumper stick from WDW on the door....BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, GOING BACK!!!!! with all the Disney characters on it.

MJ--what a great idea for the bumper stickers and flag!! I hadn't even thought about the doors being metal. Definitely no issue that way of tape pulling off paint or such! I do have my heart set on demonstrating our island mentality on the outside of our cabin!
:smooth: :D  :) ;) :p :earsgirl: :earsboy: :sunny:

KeenerCam....it worked out really nicely. As you said no need to worry about tape. You could even go to the craft store and buy a roll of 1/2 inch magnetic strip to use to anchor your "island theme" decorations for you door!!!! Just cut it to sizes that you would normally use tape for.
