You first need to find a service on which to store your pictures (like photobucket). Afterwards, when you want to post a picture, you hit the "Insert Image" icon on a new message and then put the link to your picture.

For instance, this picture is on http://dvcdisneyandme.com/welcome.gif:
http://dvcdisneyandme.com/welcome.gif
