Mini-Meet Saturday 8/23, Update Post 57 - Trip Report!

Ok it seems a lot of Diser's are headed to the parks this month. Why you all want to come in the greuling heat of August is beyond me, must be the free dining plan? :lmao:

I am always up for meeting fellow disers when they come to WDW.

I will just keep my spray mister bottle full of ice water and if you can't find me look in the nearest fountain.

I am planning a Mini-Meet on Saturday August 23, at 2:00 pm. We will be meeting at Epcot at Club Cool. I picked that location because it is -well- cool, and much better than standing outside, in the heat. ;)

We will hang out there for a little while and then we plan on going towards Mexico to get some Margarittas - or another brain freeze. :lmao:

Last year we got the margarittas and then wanted to ride the boat ride in Mexico. They would not let us on the ride with our drinks so we tried to drink them down real fast, and we all got a great brain freeze. Aengus won the contest he was finished before we were half way through with ours. :lmao:

Anybody want to join us? I will update this list as I get more responses.

Oh yeah, August is also the start of the peak of Hurricane Season. :scared1:

Now when I was paging Hurricane before, I meant Host_Hurricane, formerly of VMK, NOT Hurricane Fay!!!

Well Fay is still a Tropical Storm now, but lets all spread some pixie dust around Central Florida and pray that it stays a Tropical Storm and stays away from us!

In any event they are saying it will be over us by Tuesday, but we all know that could change.

Looks like we will still be good for our meet next Saturday! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I was in the cone but it shifted a lot south. This storm is not easy
for them to predict haha.

Oh and this is just for laughs.. Saw it at school today when my social
studies teacher made us watch CNN so I looked it up and put it on my

After the margaritas we went on the ride in Mexico, Martydog was like "There is a ride in Mexico?" We thought it was funny that he never knew it was there! Oh, and Out was right about the sour apple margarita! When we were there there was a lady exchanging hers because it was "too sour and nasty." The guy behind the counter says "yeah we get that a lot, I don't know whose idea that was to change it," and he gave her a strawberry one to replace it.

After Mexico, we headed off to Norway, but the ride was closed and looked to be closed for a while, as we could see a boat up at the opening that was being evacuated.

So then Goofer had to go meet her family, and the rest of us headed off to ride figment, living with the land, nemo & space ship earth.

Cyre & Hathaway headed off to the adventurers club and Aengus, Fly & Dog, headed to MK to ride pirates. When we got to MK there was a 7:00 parade going by and Angus did not want to be late meeting his family at Ohana for dinner, so we said goodbye and Dog & I went off to ride pirates. We were exhausted and did not make it to the adventurers club, and decided to head on home.

This last picture is from when Martydog & I were leaving the Magic Kingdom at the end of the day. The janitor made a drawing on the ground using water and his little broom. Right when Dog was taking this picture a little kid ran and jumped into it. Gotta love kids ~ or not!

Sorry that we "crashed" the meet, ever so briefly. (GoodSilverPirate & CleverCoolPuppy) Thought no way would we be able to plan for it so never did post in here we might stop by. After the crazy week we had, we happened to be entering EPCOT on our last day and when my DH said what time it was my son was like, didn't you say 2:00 was the DIS/VMK meet in Club Cool? I said yep but we have things you all want to do, well my son insisted, my daughter was like let's go say hi to Aengus, and my DH pushed me (my wheelchair) into Club Cool even though he had NO idea what we were talking about. Was happy to say hello even if you all had no clue who we were...sorry, lol. Spotted Aengus because of his "rock star" pic he posted a while back, but I think we would have recognized your voice had we not known what you looked like. Sorry to see we missed Bug and Ink too. Hope you all had a great time together and have to say again, thanks Aengus for pushing FAY right out of there for us!!! We're home now (CT) and of course it was beautiful here all week :rotfl:

We were in building 41. We are at Disney's Hilton Head Island resort now. The resort is great but I forgot about the internet. I miss having internet in the room, here you have to pack up and go to a hot spot.

You can try dial up... that is what I used. The front desk has a list of local call dial up numbers for most service providers, and since DVC members get free local calls, it's free, s l o w but free


And lucky you at HHI! It's our favorite family trip!! Hopefully we will snag a villa there next summer, just waiting for that pesky 7 month window to creap up.

You can try dial up... that is what I used. The front desk has a list of local call dial up numbers for most service providers, and since DVC members get free local calls, it's free, s l o w but free


And lucky you at HHI! It's our favorite family trip!! Hopefully we will snag a villa there next summer, just waiting for that pesky 7 month window to creap up.

Thanks for the tip on the dial up, I will ask. The last fireworks display for the island was last night and what a zoo it was. We went out and then had a difficult time getting back into the resort with all the traffic. Can't wait until the camp fire tonight and the s'mores. Hope you snag a great unit next year :)
