trunk bay excursion

the 5 star was sold out so we got on the regular st john/trunk bay excursion...how is it? it seems like a long journey for just an hour and a half..are their bathrooms there? i like to be prepared..thanks...amy

We did Trunk Bay on our own, caught a cab at the ship, took us to Red Hook Fairy took fairy over to St. John, took a cab to Trunk Bay and were there by 9:30, had 3 hrs on the beach. Cab driver came back at 12:30 where he left us off and brought us back to the Ferry. Took 1 p.m. Ferry back and other cab driver was waiting for us at 1:30 to take us back to the ship. We did use the showers and bathrooms at Truck Bay Beach. Cabs were $8.00 per person, Ferry was $3.00 pp each way and $3.00 pp to get onto the beach for 12 and older. cabs were per person no matter what age. It was less expensive to do it on our own and had more time on Trunk Bay that the DCL cruise people did.

I would do everything the above poster said except that I'd go to Hawksnest Bay or Cinnamon Bay (my personal favorite) instead. Either of these are far less crowded than Trunk Bay, and just as nice, if not more so.

Just my personal suggestion. Take it for what it's worth....

Hi ganurse!

We took the excursion on the March 30th Magic. I was kind of surprised at the bathroom situation...there were lots(!), and lots of showers, and well-placed foot-baths.

As usual, I completely agree with insightful Senor Ferrari. Trunk is suffering from being on the heavily beaten tourist path. Go see St. John the way it used to be....:smooth:
