Okay, I am crazy to volunteer this week, as I'm swamped, but I love these challenges!!!
So, here is my challenge to you
another template challenge!
This one has a cloud theme background in bright blue and in black/grey
so, the rules:
use the cloud paper somehow (feel free to change it however you'd like)
use three boxes, but they don't have to be all for pics or text, do what you like with them!
have it be disneyworld related!
HAVE FUN
You can change any and everything to your liking! I have two samples of ones I made with this general homemade template, and I'll make a new fresh one later this week :)
Here is the template in psd format with layers. If you have trouble with downloading this template, you can just download the cloud papers and make the rest up as you go! I think we can all place rectangles ;)
http://www.sleepingbean.com/clouds1.zip
Here are the cloud papers

http://www.sleepingbean.com/clouds3.jpg
samples:

as for prizes, I am sure I can think of something, but I don't know what just yet....maybe I can make some stickers of text or characters of your choosing? We'll think of something!!!
:)

Yippee!! An easy challenge! That's what I need this week. I can handle this one!! THANKS!! I'm so glad we got this going, I was afraid that we'd miss a week of challenges! Even if I don't do a layout, I follow the threads religiously!

Okay - I use SBC+ and I cannot upload the cloud papers since it's a .PSD file. Can anyone help me? Or should I ask this question over on the SBC+ thread?
Thanks!!!!!

You can just download the cloud papers jpgs (see links in the first post). The first link is a zip of a psd file, but the next two are jpgs

Thank you sleepingbean! I'm sure we all have something that can be scrapped with beautiful skies behind it! I think I'm going to zoom in on the paper to make the clouds bigger and fluffier...if that makes sense!

Disney Cruiser, my jaw just dropped! That is so cool! (I wanna CRUISE!) Now I had no idea Disney had cloud control! I just love it! Great idea to use the cloud effect for a letter fill!
I don't think I would have thought of that! :thumbsup2

Oh -- the goofy cloud took me HOURS to make.... It's a very specialized digi scrapping technique that I couldn't even begin to explain in a post.... LOL!! :rotfl2: Just kidding --- I bought the whole photo (cloud included) when I was on our cruise.... I have a release for the photo, so I think it would be OK for me to pass it along to you, if you want to PM me, and you can try to extract the cloud? :goodvibes

Believe it or not, the clouds are in the background! The rest of the stuff is CM products. And the font is a combo of Star Jedi and Star Jedi Hollow.

QuiltyMom-- That is SO COOL! These are coming out really unique.... What a fun challenge! How'd you get that fame type edge on there using CM products?
quiltymom
08-08-2008, 10:45 PM
Here's how I did it. I added a square photo blank onto the page, then under the photo tab gave it a "cloud" edge. I then flattened it to make it an element so it would accept papers, etc. Then I chose a paper to fill the element.
It took me a while to figure out how to do that, but I'm happy to pass the tip along to make it easier for anyone else!
Did I answer your question?
Pooh46
08-09-2008, 03:11 AM
It's very interesting how the "clouds" are being used. DisneyCruiser - I must say that the Mickey & Goofy clouds are neat even if you did buy it that way! Great layout!
Caitsmama - I love the black and white layout. What a great idea!
quiltymom - Very cute! Love the pictures and the frame edge.
Here's mine. I deleted the background from my picture with the magic eraser and then used the cloud paper as the background. Then I put an overlay on top.

Christy - LOVE that lo! That pic of the ship and those clouds are one of my favs.. i bought a license plate with that pic on it, and hung it on my kitchen wall (I have a disney cruise themed kitchen)
Quiltymom, great lo! I really feel like i could follow your story - and the accent is definately on your photos!
And of course you can scraplift anything i do! LOL
Pooh, that is SO COOL!!! Very creative idea!! Great job!!

quiltymom,
great page! it all ties together perfectly! And very creative use of the clouds (like the zoom!). I can really feel the story!
Pooh,
That is really beautiful. I love your take on this page, the texture to the photo, the tab on the bottom left, the boxes with zooms under the word Canada....love it!
Very creative ladies!!!

Pooh - what a lovely LO. It makes me want to be back there! Sigh...
This is so much fun! I love to see how everyone comes up with something so completely different, but each so wonderfully unique!
And DisneyCruiser, do you think that I'll see Mickeye & Goofy clouds when we go on our cruise? If only... ;) I love the way you did your LO, too!
What a bunch of creative people we have here!

Here's my entry....I uhm, used a lot of 'creative interpretation' with the "boxes"......there are 3 PICTURES, so I'm hoping that counts to satisfy the rules of the challenge. If not, then I'm just sharing a LO I guess! ;)

terri, love it. I was JUST thinking of how to use a map paper in the layout (thinking of an animal kingdom layout and a map with africa) and I love how you worked in the map and the "you are here" good use of the tall box for journaling. That works great!
ngneer - that totally counts! I see three boxes, and that is all you had to do was find a way to use three. it works! Beautiful picture of the castle and I love the cloud mickey in there!

I created a two page spread... and overlapped them a tad, so you could see how they will flow. When I order them in a photobook, the pages will tuck inside the fold a bit. That's what I allowed for.

makingscrapbooks - I just love using the images as the main page background. That is a really nice effect for an Epcot WS layout! Great idea!
marileeh - fabulous use of color combining here! I love the bright green and pink with the bright blue. I like the shrinking of the clouds so there is more white and the frames on the boxes being askew! Great layout :)

Wow -- so many awesome and different layouts this week! I love that two page spread of WS -- what a great idea! And the Canada layout is awesome. I love the Canada pavilion. I always take a million pictures of it, too!
I finally did one today, too!
Here's mine! Made with a Disney ride photo, Dolly's Dreamings TOT overlay (freebie on her blog today, also linked on my blog), Britt Shiver Me Timbers frame and staples, Artistic Grunge background paper (not sure of designer's name), black cloud paper from this challenge, arrow from A Work in Progress Kits, Date Stamp by Britt.

This one took a life of its own only after being inspried by all of your Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror Layouts! Thanks for inspiring me. I was going to go for the blue clouds but needed to scrap the Tower from our last trip. We didn't ride it this year, but you have to take a picture of the Tower! :)

Okay, I came up with a prize. Keep in mind I am not a scrapper expert by any means, nor am I in business of selling this stuff, but in light of our many SCARY entries, I was inspired to make some Disney "scare" with a Mickey theme. Just some extra elements that may be fun for you! I will give it to the "winners", but if the winners have no use for this one, I can make something else for you! Just let me know :)
Oh, and Bean helped me with this :)
here it is (I have it as a psd format, if that is compatible - 300dpi 12x12). There are textures to some of the pieces, but hard to see at small size here!
I'll announce winners first thing in the morning, tomorrow!

You guys TOTALLY should go to Disney for Halloween! MNSSHP is a BLAST! I'm going again this year in September. Everyone is allowed to stow away in my suitcase. :) I completed all my MNSSHP LOs a while ago, as paper LOs. For this year's I'll do some digitally. :)
I don't think I'm going to make this challenge this week. (I'm really sad now that I saw the prize!) :( I just had oral surgery, and I think I'm going to be out of it the next few days. So sad, this is the first challenge I've missed in a LONG time. Everyone's entry so far is fantastic though!!

I made a right side to go with my page for this challenge. I didn't have any other pictures from HS that went with the b/w spooky feel so I just rounded up some more of my ToT pics. It's a lot of ToT .... but I'm weird about getting the matching page done so I can [mentally] move on. :rotfl:
