That's too funny I just said to my husband I think I will cry when they blow that horn. (he thinks I'm totally ridiculous!) I even cry when I see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom! We are going to have fun Shawna! The good thing is we won't have to worry about trying to find each other, just come across the hall:rotfl: knock and introduce yourself! We'll have drinks, heheheh!

PoppyGirl - Any of the locations you mentioned is fine with us. As for times I would choose the sail away party only because I have no idea what time we will get on board. We're coming from PORiverside and I don't know what time they pick us up yet.
Thanks again for getting this all organized.

So, I signed us up for the Day at Atlantis Excursion, but now I am having second thoughts. It just seems like alot of money when we have already paid so much. Do you think I will regret it if I cancel this excursion?:scared1:
My family went on this excursion last year and it was A highlight, if not THE highlight of our trip. Atlantis is huge and perfectly beautiful! I kept looking around and saying to myself, "I can't believe I'm here." We spent all day there, first spending some time at the beach and in the sea, and then hit the waterpark for the majority of the day. The waterpark was like nothing we had seen before. The lazy river was soooo much fun, with small rapids, lifts, waves, and the option to go down a big waterslide. There were smaller slides, too, and huge, gorgeous pools and waterfalls. One raft ride/slide thing took you through a clear "tube" that went through the area where the sharks were swimming--so you looked around you and there were the sharks!! My kids were amazed. I would highly recommend this excursion, but we are not repeating it this year because of the cost. My kids want to go back but understand it is expensive (they are teenagers) so we are going to go to Blizzard Beach at WDW the day before we board the ship. We've never been there and I think it will be great.
Many have posted on other threads about getting waterpark passes through the hotel next door, which saves quite a bit for a family of four.
Love it!!
Anytime's fine, I think 2:30/3 ish would be great for a meetup.
Got all my docs together today...Only a couple more weeks!

Well, the excursion is 160.00 through the disney website and I just found a website about shore excursions in Bahamas and they say you can buy the passes for a total of 65.00 at a kiosk when you get off the ship? I think I will cancel and take my chances. We will find something to do...a massage sounds amazing! Good for you, I'm jealous!:cool1: Hey I went back to page 10 and I am looking at that web cam the ship should be sailing soon!
I haven't heard about the kiosk, but I am doing this "excursion" on my own to save a few bucks.
We have reserved a room at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island (www.choicehotels.com). We will take a taxi to the hotel, check-in and check-out at the same time. They give us 4 wristbands (2 adults and 2 children) for full access to Atlantis which is right across the street. It looks like right now the room costs $293.00 and they add on around $60 for taxes and fees. That would make the cost somewhere around $85-90 each.
This might be a way for you to save a few bucks and still have guaranteed access to Atlantis for the day. You might want to consider it!

Ya, we weren't signed up for the waterpark just the Aquarium and Beach day. I don't really want to go to a waterpark all day. We have season passes to one by our house so I'm just not that thrilled about that idea. I just wanted to do the beach and Aqarium at Atantis. The disney rates just seem high compared to some of the other excursions you can get right off the ship! We will see when we get off the ship what kind of deal we can get? If not then I spent a hell of alot of money for the Mickey pool waterslide!!:yay:

Hey everyone! There were some ideas posted on my other thread about where/when we might try to do a DISmeet. I'll list the ideas and see what everyone thinks.
Places:
1. Promenade Lounge on Deck 4--there's drinks/snacks available, not usually crowded and easy to find each other
2. By the Mickey Pool ice cream station--the kids can play in the pool and everyone can get a treat
3. Cove Cafe --however, this is Adults only so I'm not sure that would work
4. Deck 10 during the sail away party
5. Secret Deck 7--not usually crowded
Times:
1. During sail away party
2. 3:00pm on Sunday (first day onboard)
3. 2:30pm on Sunday (first day)
4. Second Day (Nassau day?)
Here are my thoughts: find somewhere that both kids and adults can be relaxed, not crowded, snacks are always a plus!
It would be nice to meet early before there are tons of things planned.
What time will everyone be arriving onboard? We'll be getting there fairly early as we are at WDW the week prior.
Also, how should we find each other? One group had everyone wear lime green nametags. Any ideas?
I like "4. Deck 10 during the sail away party." My mom will be in her wheelchair for the sail away party and we heard that that was the best place for wheelchair access so we are taking her to Deck 10.
I also heard that if you go toward the front of the ship on Deck 10 when we are sailing away then that is your best chance to see a school of dolphins swimming with you. We'll see if it's true I guess :)

Hey Everyone! Hope you had a good day off...or at least that you had a day off today! :goodvibes
I was taking a little inventory of people's responses to the DISmeet and it sort of looks like meeting on Deck 10 during the sail away party will accommodate the most people. So...now we just have to find Deck 10. DH suggested that we do a "Rose and Jack" DISmeet...hanging off the bow (or stern? I don't know the difference! Think Titanic) of the ship. Oh yeah, he's a barrel of laughs all right.
Does that sound ok? And it also looked like most people liked the green nametag. Any ideas for the best way to print them out? I've been making tons of magnets but I don't think they'd stick to me. :confused3
So I'm going to suggest that we meet on Deck 10 just prior to the sail away party, perhaps grab a snack (for those of us for whom eating IS vacation), wear our lime green nametags. Anyone want to make a big sign on a stick like the tour groups have at WDW so we can all find each other?
We will be leaving next Tuesday for WDW so I'm hoping we can make a decision before then. I guess some others might be leaving early too.
So, what does everyone think? Does that sound good? Will it work?
Can't wait to meet you all!

Hey shawna, do you want me to make yours? I am going to use the backs of the old navy name tags, and stick those prints out on the fronts! I can make 3 extra for you guys or we can just make one for me and u (I can't see that it's necessary for the DH's to be wearing them too)Let me know I am going to send the pics to my work email and put them together today on my break! 12 days, crazy! :cool1:

Or just print it to large envelope labels if you have the printer labels.
I'm short (5"2'), so I was thinking of sticking it to my forehead so you all would be able to see it.
Well, maybe after the first margarita. :rotfl:
If Deck 10 is easiest, we'll do that. Having spent my last cruise on the Wonder in a wheelchair I can totally understand the reasoning behind this. lol
Who's making the nametags? I agree the family members not participating on the board don't really need them. hahaha.

From what I can recall in 2006, the cast members and characters held a dancing party on Deck 9 at the Goofy pool during the sail-off party. We stood port-side on deck 10 near the forward 'funnel' so we could check out the party below and then move forward to watch the ship leave port.
What have others done?

Mine showed up at the beginning of this week because my agent had to next-day mail mine from from another state.
If you still haven't gotten them, then as an alternative, you can fill the forms out on-line. They are the same documents. You just need to create a MyDisneyCruise.com account and have your reservation number.
The luggage tags come with the documents. You can add some tags to your bags with your name, cabin number, ship name, cruise sail date, and reservation number.
And I agree with Shawna that I would call Disney or your TA and find out what the hold up is.
I have a hard time believing that someone else hasn't already shown up at the port without luggage tags in all these years... they can probably duplicate them at the port.
No, it's not exactly the same as getting the packet, but more importantly, it gets you on the ship to start your vacation with us! pirate:

sas_mk...I was thinking all of those exact same things! I check the weather obsessively several times a day :surfweb: and vacation thoughts have completely taken over my life. I took my kids out to eat tonight and the weather channel was on at the restaurant. I got irritated when someone changed the channel to Oprah! :lmao: I don't know what I will live for when I get back! (have to plan another trip most likely!)
And just today I was thinking that everyone on our thread seems so fun.

So I had a horrible dream last night, no I take that back it was a nightmare! I dreamed that I couldnt find all of my thread friends during the sail away party and when I got back I checked the thread and everyone was like "that was the best meet and greet EVER!! I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I missed it! Everyone was talking about how great it was and I was just sad :guilty: HAHAHA.
I dont know what im gonna dream about when this is over this vacation is taking over my whole life. Laundry, whats that? my kids who? you want me to get of the boards and make dinner, really well I want to be on that ship right now but we cant have everything we want now can we? :lmao: :lmao: Im NOT right!

9 days until we leave!! I still haven't finished packing. Ok I've only packed dd8 and I still have to do everyone else. Thank god dh has to go back to work tomorrow. I can never get anything done when he's home. lol I'm still trying to decide if I want the kids to just be absent from school or to withdrawl them from school. Our school takes being absent way to seriously. If the kids miss three days in a row in a six week period they will send the Isd police out to our house. The school sucks. But its such a hassle to withdrawl them for a week but better than having to go to court for taking them on vacation:rotfl: . Sorry to rant...
So what is everyone doing in Nassua and Castaway Cay? I've booked us The Dolphin Encounter with Blue Lagoon Island on Nassua and the Stingaray advanture on Castaway. The kids are going to die when they find out!!

We have decided to figure out excursions at Nassau when we get there (hoping to get a deal) Then at Castaway Cay we are doing Parasailing in DH and I, Jetskiing DH and I, and the Sting Ray adventure all of us! What time are you doing the Sting rays? We have 3-4! I feel like we are doing too much this day but we are only there once! I will be off the boat right when we dock and not getting on till we leave. Tikilyn--Wow. I cannot believe that about your school! That's awful! Ours has been great. The teachers are sending home all their work this Friday so that we can work ahead before we leave. My kids will actually be missing 8 days...and they were both just sick and out for 3 days each! I guess I'd be in jail if I lived in Texas.
But that experience like you are having is one of the reasons I homeschooled for 2 years--I didn't want the school to run my life. Actually, I don't like anyone to run my life! Just ask DH!
I hope it works out for you with minimal hassle.pixiedust:

I was really worried about the absence thing also. The school handbook is so sternly worded that i was almost afraid to "ask permission" to take MY OWN child on vacation. I went in to fill out the request for extended leave and was told on the phone before hand that they would have to present the principal with the paper and wait for him to "approve" it. So i go in fill it out and stand there talking to one of the secretarys who has been on a DC before so she and I were talking about how much fun we would have. I saw another secretary take the form to the principal who signed it WITHOUT even LOOKING at IT!!! I couldn't believe it. it was this huge deal and here he just signs it. They are terrible though it said on the form that all work has to be done before he can go back to class.
We don't have anything planned yet for Nassau other than exploring. At CC im getting a cabbana massage, and we are parasailing (with starmom) even my ds wants too!

Everyone has such fun excursions planned! I am reading through all of them and second guessing my own plans.
We are going to spend the day at Atlantis on Nassau, but we have no plans for our day at Castaway Cay. Since we will be there without our kids, we will probably spend some time relaxing over on Serenity Bay. I see a nap in a hammock in my near future! :cool1: I also gave my DH (and myself) snorkel sets for Christmas, so we are excited to try those out!
I also have a new fancy digital camera that is waterproof. It takes great pictures on land, but it seems so wrong to put a camera in water. Hopefully it works because I would love to get a picture of sunken Minnie! :)

Well, I usually don't make it past 12:30am or so these days (I can't believe I am admitting this... I AM GETTING NOT OLD, I AM NOT GETTING OLD...), but I definately want to try to get to the 70s party, the Wonderquest scavenger hunt, and the Icebreaker social. They all seem to be after 10pm on the previous Navigators. Those are on my official 'wish list' of activities. (Yet another list.) :earboy2:
I attended the cooking demonstration and the galley tour in 2006 and definately enjoyed those activities. They were short, but we were able to taste samples of food at both... not that I need that. popcorn::

Hi Everyone,
Having "done Atlantis" last year on this trip, this year we are just doing the glass bottom boat tour at 10:45am (Nassau) and then just walking around and going back to the ship to relax that day.
At CC we are snorkeling again (awesome fun--wouldn't miss it!) and then hopefully my DH and DD12 will be parasailing....DH hasn't agreed to that yet and hopefully when he DOES come around, there will still be an opening for them.
My DS15 is not as adventurous as his sister--she wants to swim with dolphins, sea lions, and stingray and he doesn't want to have anything to do with them--but I want to try and keep everyone together. Is that wrong?
Haven't started packing yet, but hopefully will get lots accomplished in that department this afternoon. We fly out of the Twin Cities 1 week from tomorrow!!! :yay:  :yay:

We had originally booked the Dolphin Excursion in Nassau but dh has to be careful in the sun. I decided that 4 1/2 hours was just to risky. Well, I think I freaked everyone out when I told them about how I had seen on the Disney Forum board that people got Sealice in the Bahamas! It's in the water, I think it's the larva of Jellyfish? Anyways, they sell sunscreen/Sealice and Jellyfish repellant! Alot of us have ordered it. From what I read, they are out only at different times of year, tides, and areas in the water.

It's not like headlice. It's almost like bites from the larva, more like a rash on your skin. You have to order it online. It takes a couple of weeks for delivery. Like I said if you research it, I don't even think it's that time of year.:confused3

Ricky'sgirl, I don't think we get the sticky luggage tags for the return trip. Only if you are going to a resort afterwards. That way they deliver your luggage to the correct place. :confused3

We are finishing up packing this weekend so we should be all set. Next week is gonna take FOREVER !!!
So, yesterday DH went to the doctor...sinus infection. At 2:00am, DS wakes up.....ear infection....DD and I are both already on antibiotics for sinus infections....this is the third round for all of us! We need a vacation to the bahamas....oh wait! We're taking one!
My DD's have been sniffling and my DW is getting over bronchitis. I told them all if I am sick when we go on this trip I was gonna throw them all overboard :rotfl:
As for our excursions, we are doing the Atlantis tour with a stop by the casino in Nassau and on CC we are doing the snorkeling, sting rays, paddle boats and the DW and I are sneaking away and going for a bike ride through the island for a little us time. Other than that we are open for whatever.
As for the meet and greet, we will be there. It will be hard to miss us. We will be the obnoxiously loud group of 10 with 1 lady in a wheelchair. Trust me, you shouldn't be able to miss us :jumping1:
If you check out my Myspace page and look through the Christmas 2008 pics then you will see what kind of a mess of a family you are in for because that's pretty much the crew that is going :rotfl2:
Not long now :woohoo:

PoppyGirl have you tried using NeilMed Sinus Rinses (Neti Pot)? It's a saline sinus rinse. DH and I found great relief from our sinus infections when we used it last month. You can find it at your local pharmacy. No Rx is needed.
Hope you're all feeling better real soon!

hahahaha:lmao: I feel the same way...I have to keep telling myself that I have packed enough! We will not run out of clothes...we will not run out of clothes. Yesterday I counted our underwear again! :rotfl2: Thank goodness we leave on Tuesday! Otherwise I think I'd need to be admitted somewhere!
On another note, DS no longer has a fever:worship: and I think his meds are working. Anyone ever heard of an ear infection that appears like a honeycomb? That's what the doc told me yesterday. It's like pockets of fluid surronded by infection. He has to miss a competition today which he's worked toward since September, but we are all taking it in stride. We've done all we can....best to just let it go now.
So, since I'm home AGAIN all day today, I'll probably obsess over packing (Oh my gosh I have NEVER been this organized on a trip before!) some more and watch movies with DS.

I've never been so obsessed with packing clothes! I'm giving myself a major headache. :headache: It's not like you can run out and buy something when you're in the middle of the ocean.
I'm finishing packing today and tucking the suitcases away out of sight. If I've forgotten something I'm past the point of caring . . . well not really but I'll deal with it. :rotfl2:
PoppyGirl since you're the first of our group to leave I just wanted to wish you a Bon Voyage! Warn the good folks at Disney that they're about to be invaded by a bunch of vacation starved DISer's. We are ready to Party! :dance3:

Thanks for the Bon Voyage....that's really sweet of you! I cannot wait to get into the warm sun!
I have to tell you guys something fun. My friend Steph moved to FL last spring. We haven't seen her since they moved, but she is driving over with her DD and meeting us at MK the first day we arrive. No one in my family knows so I'm just going to be like, ""HEY! Look--it's Steph!" And they are all going to be so thrilled to run into someone we know!

The thread sure is slow today. I guess everyone is busy packing and getting ready! :cool1:
I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out the packing thing--take as few suitcases as possible (baggage surcharges), make sure everyone has a "day bag," follow all the airline regs with our 3.4 oz bottles in the 1-Quart bags (one for each), enough sunscreen, prescription drugs, OTC drugs (just in case); and then try to pack so we only have to drag what we absolutely NEED into the hotel the night before we fly out...then haul everything into CBR on Friday until we have to re-pack on Saturday night because they will pick up our luggage that night--and have all our docs, passports, and yet another day bag with everything we need at the port so if we get on the boat and our luggage isn't there, we will be prepared!! I was a Girl Scout, and I need to be prepared!! Trying to think ahead and anticipate is driving me crazy....not to mention trying to get everything done at work that needs to be done before I can leave on Wednesday. ugh!! I need a vacation--luckily, that is coming soon!
And don't even get me started on "cruise casual" dress clothes for four people for four evenings. I'm not even considering packing "pirate gear" for pirate night.....:)
But it will all happen....it has to....and then I can enjoy my vacation!

You described it so well. I had no idea what a process it would be to pack everything we will need for our trip. It is hard to figure out carry-ons, stuff for the DisneyWorld portion of our trip and then more stuff for the cruise portion.

We were planning to pick up the kids at school at 2 o'clock and drive 3 hours (that's how long it takes on a good weather day) to the Twin Cities.....and I will be packing on Thursday morning. But NOW....what if we have to leave on Wednesday to beat the storm, and I have to work, and the kids have tests scheduled at school on Thursday, and I'm NOT ready!?!?!?! More stress to add, and we didn't need any more! We MUST be in the Cities by Thursday night because Friday is an early morning to catch our flight.

Hey, we got packed up early, took the kids out of school, and made it to the twin cities last night to beat the snowstorm--and we did!!! We are safely at our hotel--the storm started here about 2 o'clock this afternoon. We spent the day shopping at Mall of America (like my kids needed any more swimsuits or shorts!) and now we're just hanging out waiting for our flight out at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Hopefully the snow stops and the flights aren't delayed too long. We are ready to go!!! We'll see you there--on Deck 10--for the sail away party. Bon voyage!! :yay:  :yay:

Same here! I ran into PippiLatte on Deck 10 at the start of the sail away, but didn't catch anyone else... I hope everyone had an awesome time, too... even if I came back alittle redder than planned! I really enjoyed my whole day on Castaway Cay! What was everyone's favorite part of the trip?

Hi Everyone! Did you all find each other at the Sail Away? I looked for everyone and couldn't see any of our lovely green disboard meet tags! Of course it was so windy that day it was hard to look closely for anything. If you did meet, I hope it was fun for everyone.
We had a wonderful time! As soon as I unpack our masses of luggage I'll post a couple of photos...maybe we saw each other and didn't know it.
Our favorite part was Castaway Cay too. My son and I took a bike ride--it was his favorite thing we did on our trip. I'm thinking 5 day next time too--mostly for that double dip on CC!!

We had a great trip as well!!
We said hello to "Connor's Dad" at the sail away party, but we didn't see anybody else on deck 10.
By far, our favorite time was at Castaway Cay. Sunshine, good food, hammocks -- what more could you want!! We went snorkeling too, and we took some great pictures of all of the sunken "treasures" in the snorkeling lagoon. I will have to post them soon.
I had never been on the Wonder before, but because of all of my time spent on the disboards, I felt like I already knew my way around the ship. I loved knowing all of the little tips and tricks that made my vacation even more magical.
Now that I am home, does anybody know how long I will feel like my house, car, etc. is rocking? I really just want the world to stop moving!! :rotfl2:

Hello All,
We are back safely from an amazing vacation and like PoppyGirl and starmom, we are thinking a 5 day cruise will be in our future.
I didn't run into anyone on Deck 10 for the sail away, unfortunately, but "Met" did find me at the Beach Blanket Buffet during lunch when we boarded so it was very nice to meet her and I hope her group had a great time.
We tried to hang around Deck 10 during the sail away party as long as possible but the chilly winds started to take a toll on my mom so we took her inside.
We drove from Ohio to Florida a tired, worn out, stressed out family and returned from Florida a refreshed, rejuvenated, closer and stronger family with a lit fire and determination to not let work and daily life take us over any longer.
My wife and I have seen the light in the importance of quality family time and we have made a commitment to ourselves to try and get away from the chaos of life, at least, once a year if not more.
Our goal is to do a Disney activity (Mainly the cruise) every year from here on out. We are going to look into the Disney Vacation Club and see if it is doable and/or a wise decision. Anyone a DVC member and if so any comments or advice on it?
Here are a few of our shots we bought from Shutter's...

I hope everyone made it home safe and sound! During the sailaway party we ran into pippylatte, Connorsdad (thanks for the bubbles) and Met! I have to say the service we recieved was EXCEPTIONAL! :cool1: However, we found out the hard way that I get VERY seasick and even with the arsenal of dramimine and meclezzine it didn't help me. :sad2: :sad2: Nick loved the kids clubs which was a god send considering clay and I spent a lot of time in our room with me lying down:( poor clay i think i ruined his time but I really could not help it. I guess I am not as good at "puke and recover" as I used to be! :rotfl: So unfourtunatly we have decided we are MUCH better off on land. Which is terrible we would have loved to do the bounceback offer or even 2 stops at CC but it just sucks that you have to get on a boat to make it there!

Shawna,
I am so sorry you were seasick. I could not believe how rough it was the first and last nights. I did end up skipping dinner the last night because I was not feeling well. I spent that time curled up on the comfy loungers on deck 4 with a couple of blankets from my room. The fresh air really helped me feel better, but I still didn't want to look at any food. Luckily, I had brunch at Palo earlier that day so my stomach was definitely not empty!! :rotfl:

Hi Everybody!! We didn't find any of you on Deck 10 during the sailaway party--I sent my kids around looking for the green tags while I "held our spot" by the railing--but they came back with no news of green tags.
We all head a great time. Our 15-year old son spent lots of time in Aloft and playing basketball or soccer on the sports deck, so we went hours at at time without seeing him. Daughter (12) did not participate in the kids club but instead hung around with her parents most of the time.
Unfortunately I fell ill on Wednesday afternoon with fever, chills, etc. Didn't go to dinner that night (missed Parrot Cay) or breakfast on Thursday morning. My family had to do the packing--I was so weak I had to use a wheel chair all through the disembarking process and through two airports. The good part was I slept on the flight home and then in the van all the way to our home 3 hours from the airport. I am still fighting a fever and headache.
We spent wayyyy too much money at Shutters--my husband and I are both suckers for photographs and we have family photos taken two evenings, plus individuals of the kids. I think I have 25 8x10 photos--yikes!! Then of course had to get a big photo album to put them all in.
We went to the DVC presentation on Wednesday at noon (I was still feeling good) and ended up joining. Hopefully we can make it work. It sounds like a wonderful thing and my husband talked with several people who all said it was great and they wished they had joined up sooner. We bought the minimum points possible (160) but should still be able to vacation every year if we can get away and if not, the points will carry over to the next year. There were all kind of incentives to join on the ship--we got a free 3-night cruise to use by the end of 2010 and lots of other perks. I wasn't expecting to join but just went to the meeting for the information. So we will be "doing Disney" for the rest of our lives, hopefully, and then will be able to pass it on to our children to enjoy when we are gone.
I am waiting for my husband to get home with our photographs--I still use a camera & film so he had them developed today and I can't wait to see them (7 films!). We had an underwater camera and took some fishie pictures while snorkeling--but this year none of us swam out far enough to get a mickey photo.
DH and DD did end up going parasailing at CC and had a great time, though said they would like to have been up in the air a little longer (it was only a few minutes--which was probably OK with DH but DD wanted more!)
I have also been waiting for the world to stop rocking--mostly from the boat movement but partly from being ill!!
Take care, everyone!

Did you have to pay like $20,000 to join the vacation club or do you get to do payments or something? I only read about it and didn't really get how it works?
MinnesotaMouse
03-08-2009, 06:33 PM
160 points x $105/point. I think the downpayment was like 10% or something but one of the incentives was $5 back per point purchased so we used that towards the downpayment. Then then rest is spread over 10 years of monthly payments with interest--but we can pay it off any time with no prepayment penalty (if we find chunks of money along the way). :)

We so enjoyed this cruise! Unfortunately, we didn't meet any other disers:guilty:
Quick question for you all. Does anyone else have sick kids? I don't know if it's from Oceaneers Club, our time at WDW or just plain being exhausted, but both of my little girls are running fevers around 101.5 - 103.3 and have terrible coughs. Looks like their little vacation from school will be extended! Just thought I'd check to see if anyone else got sick--thanks!

Mine's fine, did you fly home? Maybe it was the plane? I find it hard to believe that anyone could get sick on that ship I think my skin is peeling off from washing them so much! hehe

Hey everyone. We got home last night finally and I'm glad to say I'm finally home. I'm glad to hear everyone had a great time. The cruise just felt to short for us to get to do everything. My kids (esp DD8) loved the kids clubs. Ds5 enjoyed them but wanted to stay with mom and dad most of the time.
Did anyone find the ship extremely cold the whole time? I know the weather was sucky for us anyway. I was so cold I wore my jacket the whole trip. The poor waiters probably thought that was the only thing I packed as that was all they saw me in :rotfl: . I just kept thinking wheres the warm weather, we suppose to be in the Bahamas. I know most of you all are from the north and enjoyed the warm weather but this southern won't be cruising in March again.LOL
We did the Blue Lagoon Island dolphin encouter and really enjoyed the whole experience except the fridged water:lmao: . Bought some great pictures of the kids with the dolphin.
Castaway Cay was really nice but again I was cold and the water was freezing. My dh went to go snorkling and came out sherving. We did the stingaray adventure. That was cool until one thougth my finger was it's lunch and bit me:scared1:. Thank god they have no teeth.
We love the shows onboard. Dd was asked to be a drawf on the first night (she was the tallest one on stage). Food was pretty good on ship.
Gosh I sound like a huge complainer but it was cold! We did book a place holder date for a 7nt cruise and took advanture of the 10% discount and 200.00 onboard credit. I think we'll enjoy the 7 nighter more due to the fact there are more sea days. All in all the cruise was ok but next time well book in the summer time for warm weather. Oh all four of us came home sick, sick, sick!!

I know it wasn't the trip home since she started to get feverish on the plane home Saturday. I love the hand cleaner aspect of the ship and you wouldn't think one could pass any germs, but if you sat in the shows at night, you'd hear people all over the place coughing. That's the only reason I was thinking the cruise at all. We were in WDW before and after the cruise, so I know she could have picked it up anywhere. :confused3 You know those pesky germs, they're everywhere--even Disney!

I definitely agree with you -- it was cold. Inside and Out! I didn't exactly plan for such cold weather, so my "warm" clothes got plenty of use. Oh well, next time I know to bring a nicer sweater to wear to dinner instead of my fuzzy hoodie!

Thank goodness, we did not get sick. We are both still recovering from all the fun we had. I can only imagine how much harder it would be if we were sick as well. I hope your girls start feeling better.

I love all of your pictures! It looks like your family had a great time on pirate night! :goodvibes
We were thinking of taking the kids back this fall, but I am not sure it will happen. I did a rough breakdown yesterday of the prices, and I think the $99 bounceback offer would still cost us around $2400. That would be a trip with hardly any extras. We would have to fly there, stay one night in a hotel, and rent a one-way car to get to the port/back to the airport. It is also amazing how much tips, taxes and port fees add to that $99. It is still a HUGE savings over paying full price, but I am not sure we can really swing two cruises in one year. :sad1:

sas_mk...where do you live that it would cost so much for airfare? Whew! It's less than $200 per person for us--I got it for about $130 on our last trip.
But I know what you mean...it really ISN'T a trip for $99...especially after I added up my account from Shutters!

I am from Utah. Right now, the cheapest flights I can find are for around $380 roundtrip. We are thinking maybe it would be smarter to wait until the new ships come and one of the old ships is relocated to the West coast. Then we could drive the 12 hours to the Port!! I'm just ready to get back on board now!! :rotfl:

Yes, it sounded like the port fees and taxes add up to another $150pp, and that gets us a guarentee room in that category, not a specific room number when we book - the waiting starts all over again. :rolleyes1 It is definately a great deal - we are looking into October (I think Halloween :maleficen might be fun!) - but we usually don't take 'large' vacations twice in a year, so we are still planning.

Poppy, I don't know if you checked, but next year school calendar is up on the web. We are thinking about going during fair week. The kids also have off the following Monday for Yom Kippur. However, halloween is also a possibility. When we were coming home from BWI I was able to locate your place. It looks very nice.

I actually did check the 2009-2010 school year calendar, but I'm planning on going with my girlfriend and not with the family. (I know, I know....) Anyway, we'll probably go visit my family during the insane week in October. I'm sure you know which one I mean!
So you saw the farm from the highway? It looks much nicer from afar....less smelly too!
