For those who have not received your documents yet, here is a link that can help! http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US Enter your DCL reservation number for the reference number. You may have to limit it to your country and zip/postal code, but you'll see the progress of your documents!
Mine got here today and Deb's gets to her on Monday :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks Tracy, now I know to be on the lookout for my docs tomorrow :woohoo: Although you quoted me about the dining for 2nd seating, I don't know if you answered.
I'm not sure if we can still get you in. I have already submitted the final list. Send me an email to twhipple@fastmail.fm as soon as possible with your DIS Name, real names (everyone in the room, including your last name), reservation number and room number and I'll see if we can add you. But I need to have this no later than noon tomorrow. Thanks!

WOO HOO!
No, I didn't get my docs, but even better I was given my official notification at work and that means I retire next Thursday!!!! Going out with a great package, too! I am so excited! And what a way to celebrate - a DCL cruise with my DIS friends!

Congratulations! We retired March 1st, and have been celebrating ever since. You cannot imagine what a difference it will make in your life!
To the family that lost both their mothers - My heart goes out to you. These big life transitions are so hard on the people who remain, and I know how much you will miss them.
I've started my packing piles, made my down leg hotel ressies, and ordered up my owners locker delivered to the Radisson. Feeling GOOD!
Seaulater, You've been away and had your hands full. I see you're on the "list" for a couple things - do you need a hand? You don't need any more stress, and I'll be glad to help anyway that I can!

Tracy, thank so much for the link - our docs are scheduled to arrive on Monday. I am thrilled about this, but being a newbie I have no idea what these documents will even be LOL I just know it means our cruise is almost here. So what exactly are "the documents"?
And while I am asking newbie questions, I am wondering about the fuel surcharge (saw info at another place on this site). If we have to pay that, did we already do so with our final payment, or is this something extra we will need to pay once on the ship? With 2 rooms and 7 cruisers, this is not a tiny charge, so I want to be prepared.
Thanks to anyone who can supply helpful info!

luggage tags, transfer info, cruise contract if you didn't fill it all out online, that sort of thing. Reminders of stuff to bring and documents needed to check in.
If you had to pay a fuel supplement you already have. It depends when you made the reservation if there was a fuel supplement.
Took me awhile to get to this 3rd round!
Joanne-I am so sorry for your loss.
Tracy-thanks for the UPS link. I found out my docs were sent yesterday are on the way and will be delivered Monday!
Scott- My brother had a bottle of "BADA Bing!" wine-must have been from Jersey :lmao:
also--(I don't know why a jersey wine would have kiwi-peaches yes-but kiwi:confused3 ;) :goodvibes
As for Tropical/v Formal DS T.J. thinks tropical IS formal, so that will work!
To all of those who have cmpiled info and made all the plans-THANK YOU!!!-I am so impressed and in awe.
I am looking forward to putting names w/faces and grass skirts!

Who is doing the opposite and staying at WDW before the cruise? We're staying at the CRB from Aug 26th till the first. It's going to be tough staying up till 3am for EMH at the Magic Kingdom and getting to the port by 11am the next day, but it will be worth it! :thumbsup2 At least we'll get to relax on the cruise.

Hey, we have those exact same plans!
We are staying at POFQ from 8/26 - 9/1, and too funny about the MK night! My ds turns 13 on 8/31 and he has planned the whole day...breakfast at CM, Disney Quest in the afternoon, dinner at HDDR, and then MK until 3 am:thumbsup2
I do not think mom and the little sisters will make the late night at MK, but Dad and his older brother have happily agreed to keep him company for the night. My guys will be the bleery eyed ones when the cruise starts, but glad to know they will have company :)

Hi there, for those of you that are planning on rebooking dummy date one board then changing it I saw this at the top of the page
NEW CANCELLATION POLICY - Effective 8/31/08
If you need to cancel your cruise and are within the penalty period for doing so, Disney Cruise Line will no longer allow you to change the date. You will be required to cancel your existing cruise and absorb whatever penalties are in effect and rebook the new date.

Hi Tracy, thanks for the link. My docs are suppose to be delivered on Monday - 8/11. I can't wait!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

We will be flying in Sat. Aug. 30 and staying at VWL for a couple of days. It'll be our first DVC stay there and we are pumped! What a great way to start the cruise!!
Ulittletinker, we don't have our docs yet either so don't get too nervous yet!
When does the penalty start for canceling cruises? Isn't it within 75 days or something like that? Most people change those dates farther out than that when they book dummy dates so it probably won't effect that but for people who have legitimate reasons to move their date, those are the ones who will be effected.

Virginia, the cruises are handled by the cruise concierge team so you can always email dcl.reservations@dreamsulimitedtravel.com for question. I am on that team so you can also contact me and I'm happy to help. I have been watching your reservation for the room number too. I know it makes it nerve-wracking, but it should be assigned soon. I need your cabin number for three things (but one you're dealing with) - FE gifts, linked late dining and Dreams Unlimited Travel's gifts. Feel free to contact me as I'll be watching it carefully for the next week until I leave. After that, you can contact the team if you have any questions. Don't worry that something is wrong because I have called DCL numerous times and if someone was wrong with your room/reservation, we would have found out already :goodvibes

75 days for non-suite rooms for most sail dates (the PC cruises were 90 days). The changes within the cancellation period that I've seen were for illness, injury, death or job loss/change. I guess it's DCL's way of pushing their insurance.

We are staying before also. Arriving on 8/29 at the Yacht Club for 2 nights and then at the Radisson at the port the night before the cruise. I'm really excited to stay at the Yacht Club since we haven't stayed there before. We are only doing the parks on Saturday(8/30) and the rest of the time we will be relaxing by the pool and enjoying the resort area. Yippie!!

Did not get a chance to pack anything last night, so will need to take some time to leave a bit early today to get things done! I don't think I've EVER gotten everything packed at a leisurely rate in my life! ;)

We are coming in late on the 25th, staying at BWV until cruise time, then we head back to WDW for one night at WLV. They changed our flight at least 3 times and we had more time on the tail end before, but it is still okay! As long as Frontier keeps operating through our vacation, we are good to go:rolleyes:
No EMH for us. I can barely stay up until past midnight, but little man Merrick will not be a good, happy boy if we stay up that late....and I will not be good, happy girl if we did that, too! I am a "Get there as early as possible and sit and anticipate getting on that ship" kinda girl.
Am I the only really looking forward to sleeping on the ship? I always sleep like a baby on DCL and I am so ready for a great nights sleep!

Sent you a PM on this.
I just wanted everyone to know as far as the linked late dining. I have submitted the request that everyone be linked for dining that requested it (through last night), but as with everything with Disney, this is just a request. It is possible that we will not find out in advance if this has happened and it's also possible that we may not be linked once onboard. Regardless, we are going to have a fabulous time!!

Hi! Tom and I will also be "trick-or-treating" in the MK after the cruise:) We will be wearing our "tropical" attire---complete with cruise lanyards as our costumes:) We will spend 5 nights at the Dolphin after the cruise and we are also at the Radisson the night before the cruise so it looks like we'll be seeing lots of DISers! We'll be in EPCOT the day we disembark from the ship---with lunch in France and dinner in Germany---never eaten in those restaurants before---really looking forward to it! I was sad to see that Alfredos closed in Italy:sad1: I'm now on the look-out for a "good" Maryland wine to bring to the open house---wish me luck!

Allen says that could be an excuse to bring one of our DS's. . . . .NOT!!!! We'll also be flying out on a red-eye (from Colorado Springs) and arriving at MCO on 8/30 around 5:30 am. Allen said I'd have to find him a place to sleep until we can get into our room. We'll be staying at CSR so hopefully I'll be able to find an empty hammock for him. LOL
Oh Yeah, I did pick up a grass skirt for Allen yesterday which I'm hiding in a closet till it's time to pack.:rotfl:
Got a call from the DR yesterday ie: thyroid biopsy. He wasn't 100% certain which makes me wonder why didn't he wait to call me till he was certain? He told me it looks benign but we'll have to watch it and it may need to be removed in the future. He also said that the 2nd smaller nodule might be precancerous (whatever that means), but he needed to check futher with the pathologist. I guess this is good news, anyways I have more important things to think about. . . . like getting ready for this fabulous cruise and spending time with some new friends.:cool1:

That was my first thought, but the date ranges match what everyone else seems to be posting, arriving on Monday, and it was shipped from Orlando so what are the chances that its another company.
This cruise was a gift from my in-laws, and we booked through RCI, thats where they got the gift from. RCI's headquartes may very well be in Pheonix. I'm going to call them and find out.
Our next cruise we will be sure to book through you though.:earboy2:

Hoooooraaaaaaay!
BECAUSE i AM A NEWBIE I FOULED UP OUR PRESTAY THEN CRUISE THEN POST STAY SCHEDULE A BIT.
Well, actually the schedule is fine, it's just that the transportation seems a little .........convoluted.
My hubby hates driving (does a lot of it for work) and requested that i fix things so that he does NOT have to drive at all while on vacay. Okey dokey, no problem.
I scheduled us to stay on property at Beach Club for the night before (we arrive at Orlando airport at 4:30 in the afternoon). BUT I only booked one room and in order to attach it to our cruise ressie they had to only book one of us (cause we are in 2 staterooms as there are 5 of us). I know 5 can sleep in the rooms at Beach Club and since it's only one night. . . .but the DCL computers don't like that so Only daughter and me are listed. I was assured all of us can be transported via Magical Express. All of us will then be transported by DCL in the am to the port.
Its after the cruise that things get really wierd. I booked the Movies resort separately. There is no transportation to that resort straight from the port, so i have us going back to the airport and taking Magical Express from there!!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3
Is there an easier way??? THat will NOT involve a rental car?
help please:confused:
Thanks

Hi everyone.
Now that we are back from the Magic 10 year anniversary cruise, we can start concentrating on the 5 day cruise. For the roster, we are in cabin 6574, have first seating for dinner, and we live in Lake Mary, FL. This will be DCL cruise number 39 for us. Is it too late to get on the Fish Extender list? We have the one we made, it got lots of comments on the Mexicam Riviera cruise especially form the kids. Looking forward to the cruise.
I had some minor hand surgery yesterday and we are leaving today for a week long meeting in Minneapolis. People at work are not sure I still work at the hospital. See you all soon. Alex

Boy, when I first got on this morning, I thought - great, only 3 pages to read - that was on the old thread, then I find 5 pages on the new thread, just since yesterday morning!
Janis - congrats on retirement!
Joanne - sorry about your loss.
Linda - good to hear from you again!
Since all the other Denver doc's are being delivered on Monday - maybe ours will be also. I did not check the link, figured that they would show when they showed. But we are Wyoming - not Colorado - that might make a difference, we normally get our doc's almost last - Linda in Utah is always last!
Scott and I will be at AKL for 2 days after the cruise.

WOW - I am trying to get caught up on all of the going-ons and what a great group of people getting this all together.
THANKS HYGIENE99 for contacting us regarding lanyards & namebadges. Let us know if there is anything we can do to contribute or "Donate". On our last cruise we didn't get involved with "the groups" but could tell how much fun the DISBOARD group was having. WOOOHOO !!
ATLANTIS: We made our reservations last night at the Comfort Suites so we can experience Atlantis without the cost. Our reservation was $125.00 plus other fees. ATLANTIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Stayed there a few years ago and wouldn't miss a visit for anything.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: We finally remembered to get travel Insurance. Went through USAA and only paid $150ish. Little cheaper than Disney.
CLIPART:
DISNEY's MAGIC ARTIST DELUXE has some awesome Disney Art that turns out great. Even Pirate Mickey & Minnie. Our program is a few years old but they still have copies on Ebay for around $4.00. Worth every penny not just for the cruise but as a great art program for kids.
BoosGram: We hope you get the rest and relaxation you need. I am 40 and taking care of my 85 year old grandmother that has moderate dementia. WHEW! I have to most admiration for someone who has been through it. I often say that I am not sure which is harder for the mind to go before the body or the body to go before the mind. You apparently had to deal with both. We are so sorry for your loss and do hope this cruise is a "New Beginning".
Just wanted to share a few of my tips in case anyone is wondering.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SPENDING OUR VACATION WITH ALL OF YOU !!!

I know it was brought up at some point, but I don't remember a definate answer.
Are both ships going to be at CC on Tuesday. Everything online that I have seen says yes, but how can they dock both ships? I've never been there but from the photos it doesn't look possible.
If they are docking both ships will it be way over crowded?

Contact DCL or your TA and tell them you want the transfers to Movies. After the cruise they will take you to any of the Disney Resorts and Swan/Dolphin so no problem there. Since you already paid for two one ways (because of the Beach Club), there should be no additional charge.
I know it was brought up at some point, but I don't remember a definate answer.

Both ships are NOT at CC on Tuesday. The 4 night schedule is being altered to allow us to be there instead. They will have a day at sea so we may see them, but they are not docking.

For those who have not received your documents yet, here is a link that can help! http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US Enter your DCL reservation number for the reference number. You may have to limit it to your country and zip/postal code, but you'll see the progress of your documents!

Thanks Tracy! Mine are scheduled for delivery on Monday August 11th.

LINDA!!! You finally surface! Sure, blame it on work... we know you were on the anniversary cruise.... :lmao: Is Robert coming??
We ended up not going on the anniversary cruise, had to cancel at the last minute, but DCL was wonderful, they let me move to another cruise, only a $100 fee I think it was, maybe it was $75.
Robert is working on a job out of town (pipeline) and can't get off, I think my friend Karen is coming with me.
Can't wait to get on the ship and relax and see everyone!

Presented the budget to our Board last night and got it approved for our new fiscal year that starts Oct 1st, so that three month project is now done! YIPPEE!
This weekend I am planning on designing the scrapbook project we are doing. I have it all in my head, I just need to transfer it to the actual thing. Thanks for the offer on helping, I'll let everyone know at beginning of week my plans and what I may need help on.
I will try to "repent" and check the thread every day now.

Not often at all. My sisters place is pretty small, and when we come, it includes the 2-3 humans and 2 dogs. It gets pretty crowded in her tiny townhome:crowded: She usually makes the trip up here, which I greatly appreciate!

We sailed in Sept/Oct of 2004 and we were soooooooo glad we bought trip insurance. Won't relive the details, but we get it for all sailings now.
We usually use access america, but went with the company that DVC uses for point protection for this trip, as we insured our points for this trip, as well. It was our first time doing that, but I just don't trust hurricane season!

Did you use the link that Tracy gave us to track your docs? Mine are supposed to arrive today, so maybe yours will too.
Thanks Tracy, how does Disney handle the seating? Last time I cruised we just linked together on our own with other DISmembers.

DD has it. She just learned a week ago how to swim under water with a mask, and how to snorkel. Of course, now, she has swimmer's ear! I have Cortisporin drops for her ears (DH gets swimmer's ear all the time, so he always has an extra bottle of that around), but do I need to take her to the doctor anyway? Do they ever prescribe oral antibiotics for them? If she cannot swim when we get to WDW or on the cruise, she is going to be one miserable little fishy!

I don't think we will be able to stay up till 3am for EMH at the Magic Kingdom. If I want a child in a good mood for Port Day, I will have to pass. I hope y'all have a great time with the extra hours.

Another bit of advice for everyone. CHECK YOUR FLIGHT SCHEDULE!!! Both mine and my sister's schedules changed. She was notified, I was not.
Ours were changed as well and we were not notified. I just happened to be checking our flights for our Adventures by Disney trip at the end of September and noticed the change. The price had also dropped, so I got credit vouchers for the difference. By the way, we are flying United.

Still curious to know how I can check to see if and to where my documents were shipped
If you put in the reservation number and it comes up and says nothing matched, your documents may not have been sent yet. Not all documents for the September 1 cruise have been shipped. DCL tells you that you will get them 7-10 days prior so there is still a lot of time. :goodvibes
Also wanted to wish Neil (Pappy) a Happy Birthday:cheer2: :cheer2:
Can't wait to see everyone again, and meet all of our soon to be new friends!!!
Happy Birthday Pappy!!! :dance3: :dance3:

You'll need to insert the zip code of your TA.
HTH!
Thanks, I gave it a try, but nothing came up for me yet, guess I am just going to have to find some patience :lmao: not my best trait.
ETA: Now I read wino's response and I guess mine really haven't shipped yet.

WOW busy place, so welcome aboard new folks, will be good to see old friends and make some new.
5K race this morn, Susan Koman race for teh cure, then drive to Denver wedding adn then I fly to Dallas for a conference, there our team will present some new software, getting that ready consumed our last week.
Too much work and I feel so disorganized, will pull it together after Dallas.
Block party sounds great,
First timers will be late arrivers with us LOL their flights changed and will be on the red eye with us.
KEWL pic of Buddy,
Our pups were funny this morning, they have been following us around all morning knowing we are going somewhere, usually a walk, Lynn just told them they have the morning off, and they both went and layed down, silly pups.

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!!!!!!!
For the ones that mentioned attending the EMH at KM until 3 am....it is a lot of fun....Mom and I stayed at the MK 'til 3 am during our Christmas trip and it was a blast...and the park was mostly empty.....we walked on just about everything!!!!!
When I mentioned to Mom about the EMH 'til 3 am on the 31st....she looked at me and said Been There...Done That...Not Doing It Again (remember WDW slogan a few years back....Been There, Done That, Going Back).
There is one thing I will mention to those of you that are planning to attend the MK EMH.....make sure you bring some cash with you. I had planned to charge our meals & snacks to our room key and I was able to for most of the night but at 2:30 am walking by the Dole Whip stand...I just had to have one.....when I handed her my room key she said the computers were doing there nightly updates and that it was now cash only....luckily I had some cash on me.

Thanks for that tip, Elaine. I think we are going to do it. We had a dinner planned for Whispering Canyon that night. Three of us still have days left on our passes so 3 of the family will need them. When we compared the price of dinner vs. 3 passes, the passes won! Cancelling WC and heading to the park. We had wanted to do evening EMH when we were there a few weeks ago but didn't get the chance. We aren't going to tell the rest of the group but instead give them our own version of a Million Dreams. We're gonna tell them we decided to go watch Wishes and we have a great spot to see them from!:woohoo:

How are you all getting to the port? Right now we have a mini van rented and I think we got a good rate. (So good that it would cost us more to do the rental return thing in PC.) I would just like to hear what you guys are doing.

Sorry to hear your FE gift didn't work out. I was so looking forward to your surprise.
The FE gifts themselves are good to go (I even ordered more to make sure we have more than enought for each stateroom), I was just hoping to personalize them with some cute stickers from zazzle, so that part is a no-go. Any Disney approved stuff is limited in what you can order and they don't do stickers for that. I did order some cute personalized T's for the family, though:) Tim tolerates so much with me sometimes:rolleyes1
How did you get your docs so soon! Okay, so just a few days earlier, but still!

How are you all getting to the port? Right now we have a mini van rented and I think we got a good rate. (So good that it would cost us more to do the rental return thing in PC.) I would just like to hear what you guys are doing.
would like to know?
RATE & parking at the port = total cost.
Ok, let me rephrase that!! How are you all getting to the cruise - whichever one your are on!!!:lmao:
We are renting somerthing and driving to the port.
Why is the van more exspensive than Disney transportation?
we will pick it up at the hyatt across the street from DTD, ther night before!
since thereare 6 of you, sounds like you wil need the mini van, a quick check on avis tells me about 100 bucks is what you should pay.

Ok, that is getting us there. How about getting back. We have late seating but a 1:30 flight out of MCO. Would that be enough time to do the rental car pickup at PC?
The rate we got is $185 plus tx/fees = $250 for the week for a minivan. Not sure if we can do better. What do ya think? We have never tried the split rental thing. How big of a PIA is it?

Don't forget about your parking fee - $15 per night paid in advance when you arrive. That puts your rental at $325. You can definitely do better with one way rentals. You will have time to get the rental and get to the airport on time. We usually have late dining and we have always made it to WDW after getting a car by 10 or 10:30 at the latest.

I just checked on it and Budget would cost us $225 for both parts of the rental. Our rental is currently $250 plus the parking so $325. That saves us $100 bucks. Where do you pick up at WDW? I guess we would take ME to VWL and then pick up the car the day before.
I guess I will do a search and get some more info. Thanks, Tracy.

I can't remember where the Budget location is exactly, but I think it is on Hotel Plaza Blvd. Avis is a little more convenient at WDW (just across the street from DTD at the Hilton). I think Budget might be half way down the street so a bit of a hike but doable. Both are convenient at the port though, just drive past the exit for the terminal about 1 mile or so and Budget is on the right, Avis on the left.

There is a budget at the Double Tree. Not a bad walk from DD, not as close as the hilton, but certainly doable....10-15 minutes maybe?

I'm trying to use the CAA/AAA online trip tiks to create my own trip tik from POP Century to the port and I need to know if DCL uses the north terminal or the south terminal.....does anyone know????
Edited to Add: Found it.....Cruise Terminal 8...Northside Terminal. The actual address (on the Port Canaveral site) in case anyone else is looking to do MapQuest or CAA/AAA Trip Tiks
Cruise Terminal #8 - 9155 Charles M. Rowland Drive Port Canaveral Florida
Thanks
yvette:scared:
ARe you sure about ME from airport after cruise.
Anytime I have ever inquired i was told that you cannot take ME unless you FLY into MCO. I have wanted to drive to MCO from another airport then catch ME but was told I could not because I did not fly.
Is your concern that the DCL bus from the port does not go directly to ASM and stops at other hotels first? It sounds like going to the airport is more complicated than making stops at other hotels.
How about getting a limo-there are several recommendations on these boards for good services-I think Happy Limo.
I a not sure as I have never used a limo service. We are doing the car rental thing to the airport.
Ok, so 3:00am leave MK get back to room by 3:30-pack-drive to Port.

When you leave Orlando Airport (MCO) take 528 East straight to the port exit. It will take approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour and make sure you have TOLL MONEY. But you will see the signs for the exit to the cruise terminal off of 528.
Hope this helps.

We're still coming - my mother-in-law had a heart attack about five weeks ago so she and her husband can't come - no doctor would allow her to fly the Atlantic at present.
We're all ready to leave (I think) - Helen has packed the cases and re-packed several times. She has even done all the FE gifts in early preparation.

Merrick and I will be there early...Tim will be taking the car back to Dollar/Thrifty or whatever it is called at port. We'll be the dorks in the matching POC personalized T's! (And I do say that with pride:goodvibes !)
By the way, off the subject...should I be worried that DS knows how to operate a remote control, pointing it to the TV and everything, and still can't walk? I think that is a sign to turn the TV off (after I watch my DVR'ed so you think you can dance, of course:rolleyes: )

I think your ok for now. Maybe hang the remote like a caret and dangle it in front of him. This may encourage him to walk for you. Although, be careful for what you wish for. Once they know how to walk, you won't be sitting for long. :scared1: Enjoy the still times.

We have a party of 7 and after playing with the numbers, it seems the best option for us is a limo service. The cost for a large van is $230 plus tip.
The rental return option may be a tiny less expensive (one day mini van rental, gas tolls, etc x two), but the convenience and ease of the service I think will make the slight additional cost well worth it.
We are scheduled for pick up POFQ at 9:30, so we should be at the port nice and early.

We have such a good rate on a mini van that we could not pass it up. We are renting from Enterprise with our corporate rate and with taxes it is $56 each way with unlimited mileage. We have never had any problem getting to WDW after a cruise before 10 or 10:30 so to the airport should not be an issue.

Virginia, thanks again for keeping the main FE List! I will need it when we get back to update my FE speadsheet! SOunds like others have done the same thing. Packaged about 80 yesterday at Mouse Beach... about 200 to go! HA!

Linda! THanks for the call yesterday. We enjoyed touring Vero BEach Resort. Can't wait to do the scrapbook Project you have planned! It sounds GREAT!
TOday, it's off to AK... Yak + Yeti, and the Supremes in EPCOT.
Good morning!
Georgie-Wish we were there. Have a great time- I assume you are at Mouse Beach?
David-I hope everyone is feeling well. Happy to see that you will be cruising. Have a safe trip across the pond.
Just curious-maybe Tracy, you or soemone else may know the answer.
What happens if one person in my cabin does not come. DH may not be able to make the trip. We are in a Cat. 4, which is a room for 5. I did split DVC points and cash to pay for the cruise. If he does not come, do we still stay in the same cabin, which has been assigned already. If so, do I get refunded for his portion (actually it would be a child's portion because the first 2 are adults)
What if I do not know until day of or day befroe cruise-can I go to port and say-"he is not coming?" Will that be a problem?
Thanks.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer when using DVC points. I would recommend calling Member Services tomorrow and asking them about both scenarios. As far as the room, they will keep you where you are at more than likely because the ship is sold out. If you don't know until the day before the cruise, I think you will be out all money & points paid, but again, I don't know how the points work with the cruise so you'll have to check.

I am kind of old and slow, but I will be in that mad dash to get either a dinner or brunch as I haven't been successful in getting either so far . I have read that if I don't get either that we can go to the bar at Palo and order the infamous souffle so many rave about, and maybe that will have to do.

One more question--since the ship is sold out, does that mean that cabin assignments will probably not be changed? I really wanted to incorporate our cabin no. on our door signs, to avoid them "walking off" but just knew that if I did, that we would get moved. Should I feel pretty confident now to go ahead and add those cabin numbers?

I think the points would go into a holding account. I was under the impression that once you use them for one of the adventure collection (cruise) they cannot be used for anything else and you lose the $95 fee associated with it. Also, someone correct me if wrong, the new cancellation policy goes into effect on 8/31. If you get to the port and cancel his reservation there, the new policy will be in effect. There is a point of no return on cash reservations. I just can't remember what it is but as we get closer, it is less and less likely that you will get much if any of that money back.
I didn't know you could go to the bar and get a chocolate soufle! That makes me feel a little better about not getting that ressie at Palo! We are going to try when we get there but not optimistic.
Gonna leave the rental car as is. When I looked at it, we really would only be saving the parking and Laxdad says for that amount, he would rather have the convenience. It was a good thought!

We have never had one of our cabin numbers changed when we selected it at booking. I would think you are pretty safe at this point but maybe a more experienced cruiser can answer. BTW, we've also never had a magnet walk off. A little concerned about our FE though! They are just so cute!

No, I didn't get my docs, but even better I was given my official notification at work and that means I retire next Thursday!!!! Going out with a great package, too! I am so excited! And what a way to celebrate - a DCL cruise with my DIS friends!
Yes congrats, a few months for me but I know I will not get a package.
You are too young to retire.
Congratulations Janis. Are we going to celebrate on board?
I have about 4 more years give or take.
Too many vacations to do.

Scott-congratulations on the running.
I haven't done any this year. Knees and ankle problems.
Also had a friend watch my stride. He is one of those running guys that looks anorexic on his good days. Anyway, my foot does not hit square, I wear the wrong shoes, ect. So I have a ways to go.
I am looking forward to putting names w/faces and grass skirts!

Whoo hooo!!! Just got an even better rate for our rental car!!! I had seen some bad reviews for Simply Wheelz so I decided to look around. Rates were thru the roof!! $500-600 for a minivan! Yikes! Got an email from Hotwire so decided to see what they had. I got a minivan for the week thru National for $213 all fees included! DH is an Emerald Isle member too so pick up and drop off will be a breeze! Just thought I would let you all know in case anyone was interested!

If you put in the reservation number and it comes up and says nothing matched, your documents may not have been sent yet. Not all documents for the September 1 cruise have been shipped. DCL tells you that you will get them 7-10 days prior so there is still a lot of time. :goodvibes

SCRAPBOOK CLASS INFORMATION!!
THE 8TH OFFICIAL DISBOARD SCRAPBOOK CLASS (hosted by Seaulater)
Okay, so I have not been procrastinating, just focused on other things, but I have now spent this weekend and designed our project, completed my sample (while watching the Olympics and talking to Georgie on the phone while she and Joe were in Vero Beach), eating chinese food (thanks Peter for the great idea) and just finished my Sunday night steak, so here's the scoop:
DATE: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th (sea day)
TIME: 12 NOON - 1:30 PM
PLACE: TBA (Based on the previous cruises I have done this I am 95% sure we will be in Animator's)
DETAILS: Each person will be making a 6 x 6 scrapbook themed to our Cruise. I will purchase the 6 x 6 books this next weekend, so I need to know if you would like to scrapbook or not. When you come to the class you will receive all the materials and embellishments needed to do your book as well as instructions for the book. The cost is $10 so it helps partially reimburse me for the cost of all the materials. The only thing you need to bring to the class is yourself! If you end up having a conflict, just stop by my stateroom after the class and I will give you your supplies, because by following the instructions, you could put it together on your own, even if you are a beginning scrapbooker.
Here is what I'd like to do. PM me with your real first name and stateroom number (you will receive a message the night before on your stateroom phone reminding you of the class and the final location). Tell me how many books you are planning on doing (kids are more than welcome to come and do a book too.)
DEADLINE: Yes, there will have to be a deadline so I can pack everything to haul to Florida and have everything pre-packaged for everyone. So, let's set Monday August 25th as the date for the cut-off.
Any questions, ask away, and if anyone has scrapbooked with me before on the ship, feel free to add any comments or suggestions or feedback (whether positive or negative) on the class.
Remember, everyone is welcome, whether you are a beginner or expert! Scrapbooking is easy (I am not going to do anything really difficult that is hard to understand). I have found that when someone has gotten stuck that another person at the same table has just jumped right in and helped the other disboard member with their book too.
Everyone should have their book completed or pretty close to it and then all you do after the class is add your pictures and you will have a great tabletop book to share with family and friends from this cruise. You don't have to worry about bringing any pictures to the class.
I will post a list right before the cutoff date so you can double check that you are on the list, and when you PM me, I will send you a confirmation back via PM so watch for my reply. (just give me a day or so in case I am not on the boards when you PM me.)
Can't wait for this cruise to renew old friendships and create new ones!

in the Roy Suite!!
September 4, 2008
Time TBA
We will be hosting an informal get together immediately following the cabin tours on our day at sea. Everyone will be welcome to stop in and see the Roy Suite and have a glass or two of wine and some cheese (we may even have some curds from Wisconsin ).
You are asked to bring a bottle of wine to share with the group (one per room/family unit). Children are welcome for the tour but we ask that only adults stay as there will not be any entertainment for the children. If things get too crowded, we will move the party up to Deck 9 near the adult pool.

Are the Radisson meets usually by the pool? I'm trying to remember the restaurant(s)/bar(s) in the hotel and can't. We didn't spend much time inside.

Not much can be done about this Peter as there is only one day at sea, there is only so much time. The cabin tours I believe were going to start around 12:30 with the wine & cheese party at 1:00 or 1:30. I hadn't set an exact time because I was waiting to see what Tasha thought was a good start time for the cabin tours. Since I have invited a number of people who probably don't read the boards, the wine & cheese party are pretty much set. Maybe Tasha wants to do the cabin tours at 2:30 after the party?

Welcome to uor 2 newest cruisers.

The roster has been updated Phew >>>>
The informational pageabove the roster, has been updated with all the new links, Elaine, please post the newest version on page one  Click link in my signature to view, it contains, oh, about everything you could think of. LOL
Still looking for a link to the deck map ?
Also removed the Palo brunch since it did not go thru!
Several other links to FE lists of all kinds Now it is up to the people who created the list, to update them. An Update, Date on the list would be helpful!
There is also a Cut off date of August 21, 2008
to get on the lanyard list. and fe list ...
New cruisers will be added to the roster, until August 27, 2008 - they can receive lanyards, as I have blank name badges printed, just have to fill in info with a sharpie. not a big deal.
ok need to telephone DVC, DET, avis and budget.
Also, Just wondering how many people are renting a car to get to the port FROM WDW RESORTS, and or some sort of Transportation other than DCL transport?
IS there Anyone who would like to get to the ship, for $11.00 P/p with no driving.
I am looking at a 55 passenger motorcoach.
Would pick up people at up to 3 resorts, at the world.
This would arrive at the port to be the early group about 9:30 or 10
Smaller coaches also available, - 28 passenger, of course the price goes up a bit per person.
Just wondering?

Merrick and I will be there early...Tim will be taking the car back to Dollar/Thrifty or whatever it is called at port. We'll be the dorks in the matching POC personalized T's! (And I do say that with pride:goodvibes !)
By the way, off the subject...should I be worried that DS knows how to operate a remote control, pointing it to the TV and everything, and still can't walk? I think that is a sign to turn the TV off (after I watch my DVR'ed so you think you can dance, of course:rolleyes: )
I'll take that as a yes:thumbsup2
Now you need to keep the remote on a high shelf, but I never get to watch anything on the livingroom TV except DVDs and the Disney channels when my DS is up. Grown up TV time is 9pm on.
I agree. I do enjoy them both
You wil have to ask Peter to post on main page
I have your information posted on the main FE list.
Virginia, I don't see the updates when I click your tagline link.

I also do not drink wine, but since Scott does, he will be bringing wine, so some non alcoholic wine would be great - I usually just drink water at these functions. I am guessing that there are some other non-drinkers out there who will also be bringing non-alcoholic wine or fruit juice.

I can move up the scrapbooking to 11:30 and run it 11:30 - 1 p.m. if that helps. I just don't like to do it too early, or it messes up with stuff the ship has planned in the morning and around lunchtime they don't schedule anything.

Then it is a BYOP or BYOS - depending on where you are from!:thumbsup2 I think I will bring my refillable mug and hit the drink station on the way. Not a wine drinker but give me the drink of the day and I am one happy girl!!

I can move up the scrapbooking to 11:30 and run it 11:30 - 1 p.m. if that helps. I just don't like to do it too early, or it messes up with stuff the ship has planned in the morning and around lunchtime they don't schedule anything.
I think we need to hear from Tasha about the cabin tours.

Wine & Cheese Party
in the Roy Suite!!
September 4, 2008
Time 1:00 or 1:30 (following cabin tours?)
We will be hosting an informal get together immediately following the cabin tours on our day at sea. Everyone will be welcome to stop in and see the Roy Suite and have a glass or two of wine and some cheese (we may even have some curds from Wisconsin ).
I told DH that if he brought a nice wine, Tracy, Bill, Peter and Jenn might let him sit on their verandah during the wine and cheese party. ;)

Can't wait to be on board already!
On saturday we headed to DLR and met up with some friends that won the dream suite. It was amazing! I'll post some pics in a bit!

I picked up my cruise documents today. Now I have to hope that the documents for the September 7th cruise will arrive before we leave for our dream vacation as well.
My dress for formal night arrived today as well as did the supplies to make additional FE gifts. I think I am just about ready to go.

We may have seen each other over at D'land on Saturday, just didn't realize it! We spent the morning over at CA doing the Segway tour and then tottled over to D'land for a few rides before a great party up at Club 33 that evening.
We're also flying out on the 29th but staying at SSR.
Have any of the other DVC members signed up for the tour of the dream suite in Cinderella Castle on the 31st? Marc is hunting for a time right now....
Michael
ETA: Woo Hoo! 1:40 p.m. for our tour of the suite! It'll be great to compare it to the dream suite at D'land!
