MK parking cost/morning traffic

Hi, all!

I've tried searching for this info, but I'm getting no results from the site's search engine.

1) How much is parking at the MK?

We're arriving in Orlando earlyish Monday morning and would like to drive straight to the park, without checking in at POR first . . . so I assume I have to pay for the parking since we won't be checked in yet.

2) Driving from Tampa, which I've been told is around an hour, 30 minute ride . . . how much extra time should I allow for morning rush hour traffic to be at the MK turnstile by 8:45AM? Would a 6:30 departure from Tampa do the trick?

2. I've nenver driven from Tampa so I can't help with number 2.

Depending on what part of the Tampa area you are starting from, an hour and a half should be okay. Interstate 4 through Orlando is usually stop and go in the mornings from Disney all the way through downtown. But you will be coming from the west and will be getting off before the major slowdowns. Barring, of course, the possibility of an accident or something.

If you happen to encounter major slowdowns before you reach the Hwy 27 exit, then get off there and go north to Hwy 192. You can come in to Disney that way, too.

If everything goes okay the hour and a half should get you into the MK parking lot. Keep in mind that you still have to ride the tram to the TTC and then take the monorail/ferry over to MK. This takes another 30 minutes or so.

If you show your reservation at the parking booth, they may let you by free. Or get a receipt and ask for a refund when you get to POR.
