Those are the dates I'm looking at too! I thought the Friday would work well but now I'm thinking the Tuesday will be less busy.... Has anyone been on a Friday and a week-day before? Did it make a big difference?

MNSSHP is an awesome adventure for everyone !!
One word of warning to everyone, especially those of you who are going on Halloween night ....
my kids and I did the party on Halloween night in 2006. It is a memory that we will never forget BUT do the trick or treating back in Toontown as soon as you can. The line ups get extremely long (for good reason) and the longer you wait in the night to go, the worse it gets. The little ones will have an extremely hard time waiting for candy in the long lineups. At 5:30 pm we left a relatively empty park to go and have dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and when we came out at 7 pm there were hoards of people !!!! It is a magically, wonderful night and the Boo To you Parade is not to be missed !! The castle is looks amazing along with the fireworks !! You will notice a lot more crying and whining after about 10 pm from the overtired little ones. Costumes are almost a must !!! I could not believe the number of adults that wore them too !
Don't let anything I say deter you -- I was not prepared (silly me !) but we made the best of it !! You'll have lots of fun !!
PS - make sure you at least go and see the Haunted Mansion, and ride it if you can !! It is well worth the line up. And if you have a Photo Pass make sure you have your picture taken in front of the hearse ...... I will say no more !!!!
HAVE FUN !!!!!

I hadn't posted before now b/c it took me this long to clue in as to what F&W stood for! :lmao:
We plan to go to F&W on Oct. 6th.
I see a few are going to MNSSHP on Oct. 2. We are going to MK that day, but not the party. It's my lo's b-day and I didn't want to confuse it with Halloween, among other reasons.

Will be at WDW sept 16-23. Thought about attending MNSSHP on the 16th but got adrs for 8:20 pm at 1900 Park Fare so... Might be going on the 19th but will decide once there. Want to see what the weather will be like. We went on Oct 31 in 2003 and enjoyed it. It was packed/sold out but managed to get on alot of rides with minimal wait. Still regret not buying one of the special t-shirts being sold at the party. Thought I could get one later on during our trip. Didn't realize they are only sold during the party, it was our first WDW trip.

Just booked yesterday --Oct 30-Nov 4..adding on to a Disney Cruise. DD24 was a CM at Haunted Mansion a couple of years back but I am wondering as much of a Disney nerd that she is and this is her idea, is it really for the very young kids??? I am not sure that myself or DH would dress up and if it's crazy busy then that won't be 'our' thing? Me, I am looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival!!:thumbsup2

I would try calling again and speaking to someone else, or go on the WDW website. I just checked and they show availability. They don't offer a discount for pre-purchasing tho. When we went on Oct 31 in 2003 we had no problems ordering our tickets months in advance. Good luck :)

That is strange :confused3 Glad I could help. So did you get your tickets ordered up? Are you aware that with the seperate party tickets you can usually enter the park as early as 4:00 even tho the party doesn't officially start till 7:00? :thumbsup2 Thought I'd mention it just in case :)

We are going to the Halloween part on Sep 9...still deciding on costumes...since it will still be hot and humid! Last time we went I ended up carrying my son's costume parts as he over-heated. It was just his cape, rubber rat and skull, but still... I need to carry all of the candy and treats!

Just bought the MNSSHP tix for October 13. We'll be having dinner at Narcoosee before hand - regular clothes there and then changing into our costumes after dinner. I'm gonna dress like Wonder Girl (I hope that's appropriate). And DS wants to be Link from Zelda games which means dressed in green, with a sword and shield. I'm thinking people will think he's Peter Pan with a sword and shield! :)

We'll be going the exact same dates as you out of Detroit on Spirit Air. Tickets were $55 taxes in each way so I couldn't resist. We'll be at MNSSHP on Saturday the 4th as well. I'm squeezing in a birthday weekend for my 8 year old which works out cheaper than a weekend at Great West Lodge in Niagara Falls. We stayed at AKL back in July but I'm saving a few dollars this trip and staying at POP ($54/night AP rate) for the first time. We'll be returning for another week in December to try out the new pool at CBR (Bounceback Offer). I'm trying to get the most mileage out of our AP's....lol.

Cool! We bought AP's when we went in May of this year knowing we were going to go around this time and again in april/may 2009. Our flights were 64$ each way without tax, I think 160 something return each with tax ... so after my credit I only charged 300$ for 4 return flights out of Buffalo.A guy who comes to my husbands work flys Spirit, he gets flights for 10 bucks sometimes!!! I am sooo excited I am dressing up I think as the wicked witch from the wizard of Oz , not 100% sure yet tho I change my mind often LOL.

I just got back from Disney. We did the party on Sept 5th and it was the best part of the trip. I made shirts for everyone to wear. Way to hot for costumes. Alot of people did wear a costume. If you are going soon bring bug spray. They normally don't have a problem with mosquitoes but because of all the rain they do this year. I found toontown to be the worst spot.
We did the second parade got to Mainstreet around 10:20 and it was empty. Perfect for the kids to get a front row seat.
If there are any rides you want to go on the night of the party is a perfect night because there are no line ups. We did a few rides that night but most focused on trick or treating and the parade. There is also free face painting in toontown and Frontierland. If you aren't planning on buying the photo CD make sure you get a new photopass that night as it has 40% off all party pictures.

Hi Jen,:goodvibes
We did the party on Sep 16 and it was the opposite for us, sorry to say. When we first arrived, not too crowded, but then it grew busier & busier as the night wore on. The ride lines got longer, the 2nd parade was more crowded. Eeeek.
I wish I would have read your photo pass tip, we would have gotten it then if I had read your great advice.
Does anyone have more tips/memories/feedback on the party or F&W?
We booked bounce back for this same time next year. TIA.

We just got back, too, but we just did F&W, not the halloween party.
I enjoyed the F&W, although most portions were smaller than I expected so ended up spending more than expected. But take a guess as to what my boys chose to eat: McDonald's french fries! :sad2:

We did the party on the 2nd of Oct. Not too busy. Got lots of Candy would defiantly go back at this time of year again and go to the party again. Went to Epcot on a Saturday to do world showcase and during F&W probably wont do that again. At least not with the kids. Lots of drunk people, and when your not drinking its just not as much fun.
Did anyone else see the ghost on the liberty belle??

No!!!! :confused3 The night of our party (Sep 16) the boat was not "in use" & the CM said he thought it was due to cutbacks.
That's a big reason why we bought party tix, b/c in the passporter the author talked about how great the Liberty Belle experience was for their family.
So though we booked bounce back we won't do the party again. We'll be there for f&w and will try that instead. :flower3:

We went to the party on September 19th. It was a last minute decision to go and we are glad we did. My little one was Cinderella and Mom and I did not dress up. We saw the villains and got a couple photos with them. I took my daughter to meet the Evil Queen and she was great, she said "I see you dare to present a princess to me. Does she know how to curtsy to a Queen?" My daughter curtsied to her. She then ask my daughter to tell Snow White that she should behave as well as her. It was a great moment.
We also were able to get some autographs from the Princes which thrilled my daughter(wife too!).
The parade is great and starts with the a surprise, have your camera ready because it goes by very quickley. Lots of candy to be had as well.
It was not cheap(what is at Disney) and if we had not spoke to another family who had been earlier in the week and said how much they enjoyed it we might have missed it.
There is a special fireworks show as well.
