Booked the car with USrentacar months ago and managed to get a great deal on a 4X4. (307.00 for a Dodge Darango, with Gold)

Tickets arrived from Virgin and I have only gone and booked the car for one day less than we need. Contacted car company and they want another £100.00 for an extra day's rental. I've asked them to check the price, but I suspect they will come back and say it's correct, as the original booking was for a special offer.

Now going to have to cancel the car and start looking for bargins all over again. Fortunately I took out the cancellation policy when I booked, so I could cancel up to the day before we pick up the rental.

Anyone know a good place to start please, DH is really upset?

Why not still use the car - ask when you arrive how much for 1 extra day. Or return and use Mears or a town car.

I have used airline network before for car hire.

In the past Airline Network have come out cheapest for me too. I prefer to use Dollar and have also use them directly as well as through AN.
Good luck:thumbsup2

use the car and just get one extra day from another company either before u go or when u are out there, or ask when u collect the car, i am sure it wont cost 100 quid

Look carefully at the usrentacar voucher, often theywill round up to whole weeks, (i.e we booked for five days, but the voucher gives us a week).

If you need to cancel, either use USrentacar again or we use www.holidayautos.co.uk

Paul, I'm not blaing usrentacar, I'm just surprised that they wanted 100.00 for 1 extra day. I've now cancelled the car and have started again.

Next time I will be more careful with my dates. It's the first time I've DIY'd, and probably the last.

:headache: i done the same sort of thing the other day, we are on a morning flight going to mco and a late evening flight coming home- i put pick up and drop off times as 4pm whereas infact the car will be dropped off at 7pm.. To alter it to 7pm cost me £15 and as it is another 3 hrs extra its classed as another day and cost another £30
