Can you participate in the DDP if you are NOT staying on Disney Property?

You have to be staying on property to use the DDP. Generally speaking, it's part of a package (room, ticket, DDP).

Not only must you stay on property, you must stay at a Disney-owned resort. Shades of Green and the Swan/Dolphin are not eligible.
