View Full Version : Dining Rotations-Have you requested? Was it granted?
I know requests aren't guaranteed, but for the 7 day Eastern the PLA rotation seems to work out best with tropical night and formal night. Has anyone requested a dining rotation and was your request granted? Just curious. Thanks. Nasi

Yes, I called and requested Plap rotation for our cruise this past Feb. I spoke to the DCL rep and he had no idea what I was talking about. I explained all the dining rotations and he was quite impressed. Said he learned something new and when someone now asked him about PLAPLAP OR ALPALP, he will know what they are talking about!!!!
We were a party of 14 and I requested us to all be seated with the same server. We actually would up with our requested dining rotation and were at a table for 14. It was wonderful.

We requested PLAPLAP for our Magic 4/6 Cruise and got it. We were told at the time of our request that they would try to honor it, but no guarantees. However, we did get it and our own table for my family of six.
CUMICKEY -
PLA is the Parrot Cay, Lumiere's, Animator's Palate rotation. We requested it for Parrot Cay on first night - Sat. casual, Lumiere's on Sun. night - the most formal. Having this rotation also gets you back to Parrot Cay on Tues. for the TROPICALifragilisticexpealidocious dinner (sp?).

Thanks for your replies. I guess it can't hurt to ask for PLA. If we get it great! If not that's OK too. mmouse37, we are a party of 13 and our ressies are linked but I didn't request the same server. I think I'll do that too. How far in advance did you request your rotation? Nasi

Nasi...I called DCL and requested the same server and dining rotation about three weeks prior to sailing.
I want to do it again this August when we sail on 8/3 Western Itinerary. We are again going to be very large group (about 21) so I doubt we will all be at the same table, but as long as we can all have the same rotation and server it will be nice.
I prefer Plap rotation for Eastern, but don't know what rotation would be best for the Western Itinerary because I am not sure when the formal nights, Tropical (Mexicali.....) nights are.

There are soo many decisions to make. I haven't sailed Disney yet (am going on 7 day Feb. 8/03). I thought the most formal night was on Thursday... does PLAPLAP make for the best rotations to go with the themed nights? If you were to book one meal at Palo's, which night would be the best to skip the rotation... I don't want to miss anything... need to go for two weeks!
Thanks.

I tried, but have not had the luck you all have. The DCL agent said there just really wasn't anyplace to request the rotation, even understanding that I was happy to have it requested but knew it wasn't a guarantee. She said they have places where the computer will accept the seating, the number of people etc. but not this. Said they could mark in on the reservation but the people that set the dining rotation wouldn't ever see that. I called twice and got the same response. What am I doing wrong?

The DCL rep I talked to said he was going to fax the request over to the dining department. Maybe that's the trick. Mention that if you call again.
