Cool, would mean I could have just a week and be less stressed I think.
Does it make you feel disappointed at all ever?

we are this time!
we fly to S.F for 4 nights, then orlando for 10 nights.we haven't got enough time,to fit everything in.in fact we have never been to universal,at all.maybe next time.i try to twin it,with another destination,to keep hubby happy, last time,it was hawaii, next time,i will look at NY.this does eat into, the time at orlando though, making it impossible,to do everything.
i love seaworld, but we are not going this trip.for me,it gives us,a reason to return.it certainly doesn't take any enjoyment away, just doing WDW.

Cool, thats great to hear!! :-)
We're going to be twinning it with Vegas (well maybe sandwiching between vegas and New York). And I would like to have some relaxing time.

no, we never feel disappointed by spending all of our time at WDW...
there is just so very much to do at WDW, and we enjoy ourselves so much at WDW, we're more than happy to spend all of our time there..
only every few years do we venture out to other parks....

The first time we went we just did WDW, not sure we were even aware of IOA etc! On subsequent visits we did Disney, IOA, Universal, Seaworld been over to Busch Gardens a couple of times. Last year, first time going in Aug, because we were worried about the heat, and splashed out on AKL, we decided to have another year of 'just Disney'. We had to buy ultimate ticket to qualify for free DDP. We really enjoyed it-at least two days in each park meant no pressure to rush around. Kids 12 & 14 were fine with it too.
I'm sure you'll have a great time just doing Disney:goodvibes

We did last time and will next time for the sake of our sanity LOL. We have been to the "others" a while ago and we are waiting until the new ride additions have been done before we go back. There just was not enough to keep us going back for repeat days.

Wow, I was expecting a really negative response to this one! Thanks so much for all your positives.
Even just this thread I feel a lot of pressure of being able to fit stuff in has been lifted.
It may just be that we only go Vegas and then do Orlando in May or even 2010 as a long trip, but I was more than happy not venturing out of Disneyland Paris, so WDW will feel massive compared to that!

We have always visited all of the parks at Orlando as we consider each and every one of them valuable in their own right. I would find it hard to say we wouldn't visit this park or that park.
However, the Universal parks are our favourite now in any case. If we went back for a second holiday in a year, we would stay at just Universal onsite. If we were Disney fans the same but for a first time or only visit in a year we would definitely visit all of the parks.

In my opinion, it is crazy to travel that far and just stay at Disney, there is so much to do and to just do Disney is a complete waste.
What about the beaches, Kennedy, IOA, Universal, Seaworld, Discovery Cove to name just a few.
Not critisising, just saying that as much as I enjoy Disney, getting out and visiing everywhere else makes my visit that much more special for me.

We've never just done Disney, but we've always had 2-3 weeks there so had plenty of time to fit everything in.
I love universal/IOA, but if it's making you stressed thinking about trying to cram them all in then drop whatever you need to. After all, it's your holiday and it should be about relaxing and having fun, if just doing WDW makes that happen then go for it.

No - to go all that way and just do WDW makes no sense to us.
Spend just as much time at Universal than we do at the Disney parks and have also been fortunate to travel around most parts of Florida over the years.
There is so much more to do than WDW/Orlando.

Last year (DD's first WDW trip) we just did the Disney parks as we felt she was too young to get much out of US/IOA. We also spent 5 nights at Clearwater mid holiday.
Prior to this we always did US/IOA but have never done SW. We are going again next year and will do SW and a Disney cruise this time but not US/IOA.
We are DVC members so know that we will be going every 2 years so don't feel that we have to do everything every holiday.
Just relax, enjoy yourselves, and only do the parks you want to.

We just did WDW last year for our first trip, however we are going to the other parks this year as I now know what I don't missing at Disney. I think all the parks would of been a bit much for DD last year as it was our first trip and we wanted to do as much disney as possible as that was the reason we went.

There's no way I'd consider just doing a Disney only trip to Orlando, in my opinion Seaworld & Universal offer a totally different experience to Disney, and it'd be a waste to travel that far and not visit them.

We quite often go just for a week or so, usually stay onsite as DVC members and tend not to do all the parks every time - we've got it down to a fine art TBH...
Cool, would mean I could have just a week and be less stressed I think.

Never feel disappointed as it means there's always a reason to go back... :thumbsup2

Hi
We tend to only do WDW parks as it gives us more time for sunbathing and shopping. We also do not go to parks for whole days, just for 4/5 hours at a time (benefit of staying on site)
I have friends who are literally on the go all of the time and rush around everywhere, but we like to relax and sunbathe as much as possible as well.

These days we only do 1 or 2 Disney parks in total and usually do them hopping in one day.
The rest of the time go to US IOA SW Busch etc etc and see a lot of what Orlando and Florida has to offer beyond Disney. i.e local restaurants, sightseeing, the beach.
Its a very long way to go never to see anything other than Disney but then I suppose its no different from all the people that say go to the Carribbean and never leave the hotel grounds.

:)
Thanks for all the continued advice!
As we are combining it with a trip we have already planned, I know its a shame to only see WDW but as we've already paid to get over to the staes and extra week for us is only gonna be like £400 each!
So although it would be a shame to not do it all, I figure doing some of it is better than none!
It may well be we're back in 2010 anyway, but I think we'll wait for Harry Potter to all be ready and then go. :)

I think it really depends on the kind of holiday people want. I've never done just WDW but that's not to say I never would and I can certainly see the attraction of doing so, there is plenty to do that would more than fill 10 days :) I don't think it's fair to criticise others' holiday choices as we all have different priorities and preferences. Our next trip will likely be just a week in Orlando and the rest of the time in other places so we will probably do WDW with one day at US/IOA. Don't really feel compelled to visit SW again until we have kids and we'll stay elsewhere to visit BG and KSC (although for a first-time visitor I think adding those two to the mix could be a bit much anyway, for a visit of 2 weeks or less)

I've been 5 times & just done WDW with a day visit to Seaworld each time. This year we are doing US/IOA with a 1 night stay at RPR but the rest of the time we will be at WDW.

Last time just myself and DH went to we went to all the Disney parks and IOA and US, SW & KSC
However, next year we'll have our DD's who will be 6 & 5 so we intend to just do WDW with the possibility of SW
We want to take it at their pace and not rush about. We'll no doubt spend some time at the water parks and the hotel pool so this takes time.
Also I intend for the trip to be the first of many so plenty of time to visit all the other attractions as the girls get older!

We're staying at the Gold Coast which is just off-strip as I got a great price but i'm keeping my eyes peeled for any deals on the strip hotels as it gets closer to our trip. Our cancellation penalty isn't much so if I can get a great last minute price at somewhere like the MGM grand i'll probably change our booking :)

I'm having the same problem, only going for 7 days and want to fit them all in apart from seaworld, the shows are the same from 2004 whenI alst went, so not too bothered about that one, but love the water rides at IoA and Universal has most to do for mum because she doesn't like rides!!!

First trip we did Disney, Discovery Cove, Sea World and Busch Gardens.
Last time we did Disney, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Universal and a few days at the beach.
Next trip we are planning on just doing Disney. We've decided to leave Universal until the Hogwarts village opens and at the moment we aren't planning on going to SW/BG. I don't feel we'll be missing out by only doing Disney ...... leaves the rest to look forward to again on another trip. :)

Almost!!!!! Last twice have been just Disney with just one day at Seaworld.
Don't have too much inclination to do the other parks but will have to see what DS wants to do as he gets older, and maybe we'll have a Florida beach holiday................ :confused3 maybe!!!
Love Disney :tinker:
