HI! I just want to make sure I am on the right track here. I am planning a trip to WDW in July. I was wondering what the "proper" tip was for a Mears Shuttle Driver. I am planning on holding onto my backpack and camera bag. Between my frind and I there will be 3-4 bags. I was thinking $5 would be enough. Am I right?
Thanks,
Melissa

I have never heard of anyone tipping a Mears driver. I have used them several times and have not seen or tipped them myself. Does anyone else out there know anything about this?

There is a sign posted up by the driver which says gratuities graciously accepted, or something like that. I think $5 for 4 bags is more than generous. I gave $1 for my one bag a couple of weeks ago.

Back in the dark days when we used to use Mears, we tipped around $1 per bag, depending on the size of the bags.

I had a bad experience with Mears from our last trip coming from the airport to the hotel. I don't think I will be using them again. We stood curbside for an hour and a half while Mears shuttles past us by while the guy with a clipboard scratched his head and eventually disappeared. They really seemed confused about our reservations, and finally a driver appeared and asked us where we were going (I guess he had some down time:rolleyes: ) and took us to our destination. It took us 2 1/2 to reach the hotel. ...Mears---never again.

I most recently used them earlier this month. One thing: on the return trip they suggested picking me up from All Star Music 3 hours before my flight (it was at 1130 a.m. on a Monday). I thought that was excessive, but it wasn't at all. I was glad I hadn't second-guessed them as the Orlando Airport (Southwest Airlines, anyway) was jammed to the gills.
