We were planning on taking my grandmother with us this year. The problem is....she has major problems with her kidneys and needs to go to dialisis three times a week. Her nurse said there is a dialisis place near disney ..can anyone give me more info on this?

My son has had dialysis before while at WDW- it's in Celebration and extremely difficult to find, so be sure you get detailed directions. Her current facility will set up the times/place for her.---Kathy

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Look in Post #3 for the dialysis section (listed alphabetically) and there will be several useful links there.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

You need to ask the social worker at your Grandmother's current dialysis center to co-ordinate the plans for you.

She (or he) will be able to arrange for the proper paperwork and details to be worked out and to make sure that the center has room for her on the days/times she needs to go.

As for transportation- you will need rent a car or use taxis.

We did dialysis with my Dad (but it was about 12 years ago) and it went very smoothly.
