If somebody posts a picture of an attraction or character you have to post a photo of the same attraction or character. If you don't have a picture then you need to wait until you do. It's a lot like UNO in that respect. There are Eye Spy threads out there if you wish to match every photo posted. This game is a little more specific to keep it challenging and fun.

I thought that I was playing the game in about the same manner as others but I guess not. I must have stretched the boundary too much. I'll try to do better.

We're just trying to maintain a certain level of difficulty otherwise the game isn't as challenging. We've been recommending the "Eye Spy" game to people who want to be able to post more photos. The rules are a lot looser since you don't really need to match the actual subject of the photo like the UNO game. With Eye Spy the subject of the photo doesn't really matter. If you see leaves or the sky in a photo you can match it. That way everybody who has pictures can play along without having to wait for a photo they can match.

Well, it may be "the Rules" but it sure has slowed down this game. I like a fast pace game where many posters can enter with easy to match photo's. The challenge is always to TRY and get a photo that is as close as possible... But... Above all... Lets' have FUN!

My opinion is probably not worth the two cents, but as long as we can have fun...keep posting.

Well, sometimes slow is good. It's frustrating when I come on to check the thread and I see, for example...that photo of the screamin' sign and I know I have a match for it. But someone else has already "matched" it with someone completely unrelated.

If a photo sits for 24 hours and people are unable to match it...THEN it's okay to do something that is a bit of a stretch. I mean, give everyone time to come check it out. Maybe some people can't check the thread until the evenings or something.

But I'm sorry, matching an attraction sign with just any attraction sign....what is the point to that?

Yeah, I should just put a discription with them. The Knight is in Fantasyland, just as you go thru the castle, there is a shop on the right and this is out front.
It's the detail in Disneyland that I find so amazing. I suppose it's why disneyland is a THEME park and not an Amusement park.
You do have to take the time to notice things, it's so easy to pass them by.

I take lots of photos so that I can remember what I've seen or examine it in closer detail at a later date. So, I just had a good look at the Knight and had not noticed before... There is a face on the Helmet.

I have seen the knight. There's a little shop there that sells cool family name history stuff. DH and I spent some time in there one day, it was fun, it's been a little while though.

I think I read some where that when mailing post cards from DL that they wouldn't be post marked DL. I would have thought it would have been from Anaheim though! I dunno where it goes then. My guess would be that they don't do it for sheer volume that would come through there. Could you imagine? I imagine the volume would be like letters to Santa at Christmas everyday!

If I remember right, it's actually in Critter Country. There's a shop that is just past the exit of where you get your Splash FP's. It was on the outside of that building. It has hats and other small stuff in it. It was a pretty small place. I was waiting for DH to get done looking, so I took more pics!

Yes, I've been to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
The biggest surprise ever was DisneySea Park....totally unbelievable!

I agree. It's more fun when the game moves fast. I really didn't think it was that obscure as this photo is inside Goofy's house in toontown... in the same room with the picture I matched.
So any picture of Goofy's house will do.
Goofy is such a sportsman... that there is a lot to see inside his house.
There is even a space in the attic where he stores his Christmas Tree all year long...

If you get stuck matching, look at what else is in the picture, NostalgicDad New pic has at least 6 other matchs, bicycle, water, ice, bricks, fruit, soda's. And I found a match to pavement! Look for more than just the subject when you are stuck.

tink2dw i'm sorry hun. but that isn't a match. mommylove is right. in order for your "pavement" picture to be a match, you would have to play I SPY game. this game has SO many problems that it DRIVES ME CRAZY.

i thought the directions to this game was simple.


if something is SHOWCASED in the picture, please MATCH that.
for example, DENTON & MARIEZP.. their crow's nest match just fine EVEN if they're not in the same place.

How many times have I walked by that, and I've never taken a pic! :p I'm definitely going to try and do a better job of picture taking this next trip. It can be tough to make the rest of the family slow down long enough though, heh.

No kidding! I just gotta take more pictures on our next trip! I'm even thinking it would be nice to plan an entire day concentrating on that. Of course, then I would probably have to take an entire day off to make up for it. You can really miss a lot when you are wrapped up in taking pictures. Anyone else ever notice that? :confused3

I think it's a great match :thumbsup2 ...but then again I thought the pavement was a good enough match too. :rotfl2:

What is most IMPORTANT about this thread is not keeping to any set of "rules" but the FUN we all have in participating and posting Disney pictures...Does everyone agree???

I had an idea that would stop the "screaching halt" this game comes too when an unusual picture is posted.

We could change the rules by introducing a "Wild Card" say something like a picture of Mickey Mouse. So that if no one has posted a match within say 3 hours, you could post a picture of Mickey as The Match and then post a new photo. This would mean we can continue to enjoy a faster moving game.

Should we start a new Thread with the rules completely spelt out or continue to press along the way we are going? Whats your opinion? :confused3

Either way works for me. My only suggestion if you start a new thread is to come up with a new name for the game. :)

Edit: After 2nd thought, it might be nice to have a fresh thread. It IS fun to go back and look at the whole thing from the start so it might be nice to have a "clean" one. ;)

It's not going to be easy to make everybody happy so whatever is decided, PLEASE, everybody keep in mind that we are all here trying to have fun. It you miss an opportunity to play, don't be mad, just be patient and know that you will have another chance at a later time. In the meantime, enjoy all the wonderful photos of our favorite park!

Does that make sense? It usually takes a few hours for a thread to drop onto page 2, and if someone has an accurate match, it will keep at the top of the forum.
