Hello all,

I am new to the DIS boards and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me on what to do for my boyfriends 22nd birthday. We will be in disney from sept 12-20 and his brithday is on the 15th. I have never planned my own trip to disney world so I really don't know what is out there to make it a special trip for him. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

The only idea I have so far is an illuminations birthday cruise.

There are so many fun things to do on a birthday. We just celebrated my BF's 34th in May.

1. Be sure to visit the Guest Services at any park and get him a special birthday button. He'll get special attention all day!

2. Book a character meal (if you're into that sort of thing). The characters are always fun with the "birthday boy." We like going to Crystal Palace because the Pooh characters are his favorite and they decorate your table with streamers and confetti (and bring the birthday boy a cupcake!). Be SURE to tell them at the podium when you check in that it's his birthday. This goes for ANY restaurant.

3. Book a fancy schmancy dinner (Yachtsman Steakhouse is a good one...or California Grille) and let them know he's celebrating. He'll get a special dessert and a card signed by "the gang" (this will happen at most restaurants, but fancy schmancy is always fun for a celebration).

4. When you're at guest services (or at any hotel or store in WDW), tell the cast member that it's his birthday. They should be able to get Goofy on the phone to give him a special birthday wish.

5. It might be fun to go to the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island. You'll be there during the last few weeks it's open and they always have fun with birthday boys!

The Illuminations Cruise is a good idea, but if you don't already have one booked, you should get moving. Those things are booked solid the minute they become available (90 days out, I believe).

By the way--WELCOME!!! :-) And, as I said, my BF and I are lucky enough to go to WDW quite often, so if you have any questions, feel free to send me a private message.

You can also order a birthday cake to either be delievered to your room or a dinner. Here is the link all about it:

thanks so much for the great ideas!!! Do you know if certain hotels will decorate the room before checking in?
