The Cast

Jackie - Chief planner of this trip and chief spender of the $$$$$

Brian - Supplier of the $$$$$, Driver and chief Bud light drinker

Molly - Age 8 - not so keen on the fast rides and loves Pokemon

Lewis - age 6 - cheeky Monkey and hates shopping

John (my dad) - tags on at the end and generally does as he is told

Toni (my mum) - loves Disney but found July a bit too hot

8th July

5.30am – wide awake and raring to go. Dh is out of bed and sitting with the laptop and Molly arrived to see what time it was. She did go back back to bed for an hour but in the end we were all up dressed and out of the house at 9am. The plandn was to head to Downtown Disney which is tradition on the first day so off we went.

10 minutes later screams were heard as we passed under the WDW arch and we were in Disney!!!!! We arrived and parked at DTD and the first stop was the Lego shop. DS was sooooo excited just to be there and spent ages looking at all the models. DS and DD decided on some custom Lego men which they paid for and we moved on. We had a stroll around and looked in The Art of Disney and a couple of other shops .

Molly who is a massive Pokemon fan and had found out that the shop in the Japan Pavillion in Epcot had a lot of Pokemon goodies and was desperate to go so we agreed to an early lunch then heading over to Epcot!!

We decided to eat at Earl of Sandwich which I could eat everyday!! I had a tuna melt and it was as good as I remember. Once we finished we headed to the car and decided to park at Boardwalk and take the boat to Epcot and go through the International Gateway.

Once we arrived in Epcot we decided to head to the Japan Pavillion first so Molly could get it out of her system. When we got there she was a bit disappointed the was no Pikachu (yellow cuddly Pokemon) but soon consoled herself with another cuddly and pencil case.

We left the shop and caught the boat across to Future World and checked the times for the rides – all the biggies were maxed out so decided to do Spaceship Earth which the kids love. We really enjoyed new enhancements they have made to this ride and the kids laughed a lot at the various endings.

By the time we came out of Spaceship Earth the heavens had opened and we made a dash for Ineventions. DS took part in a game which practiced getting out of a house in a fire and had great fun crawling along floors and out of windows.

Next was Journey into Imagination which had no wait – it never has a queue so is a good ride if you want a cool seat for 10 minutes!!!!

By this time we decided we should head out for something to eat – by this time he rain was back on so decided to stop at Cracker Barrel which was not far from Walmart which I needed to go to. We enjoy Cracker Barrel and has a bit of a change from the usual burgers and we were all very hungry. With the rain still not letting up we headed to Walmart for Beer and Wine some pool toys and other bits. DS bought a Super Mario DVD but we didn’t spend much time as the kids had lead in the shoes and just wanted to go home.

When we arrived home the kids went straight to bed without any prompting and we sat with a drink and watched the storm roll by – we were all in our beds early and ready for our first day in Magic Kingdom. :yay: :yay: :yay:

A lovely first day. The Mitsukoshi shop is my favourite one in the World. We have never been to Cracker Barrel, what sort of food do they do?

You will find a copy of the menu on their site www.crackerbarrel.com . The food is very simple stuff - the kids love it . DH loves the meatloaf and old fashioned orange sodas
