I know that 90% of the DIS seems to wear Crocs to the parks. So I couldn't resist when I read this article from Newsweek online. It's pretty humorous...even if you love to wear Crocs. Enjoy :)

Thanks for posting this! The article is HYSTERICAL!!!:rotfl:

BTW, I, of course, am amongst the 10% of DISers that don't wear crocs, but I do believe they must be super comfy.

:rotfl: I too am in the 10%. I'm not big on fashion, but I would never be caught dead in Crocs. Not to mention they're not safe. I've tried them on and I don't think they're comfortable at all. That gave me a good laugh though. Thanks! :rotfl:

I thought it was funny, and I have a pair. I've got the Mary Jane style brown and pink ones with the Mickey heads in them. Don't worry though, the farthest from the house I wear them is to take the dog out to pee. They are great for wandering around in the yard or running the trash out. I had originally intended to wear them to Disney, but there's no way they're comfortable enough for that. My DD2 loves her hot pink version of the same ones I have. She can put them on and take them off all by herself. She wears them to the store, etc. but they're TERRIBLE for playing in. I think they're cute on her, but the adult sizes are just plain ugly. They'll be great for wearing in the room to avoid the hotel carpets though!

I have to confess; I do wear them. :lmao: I'll even wear them to work but then change into "regular shoes" here. I haven't read the article yet but I will when I finish this.

I was so dead set against these things when they frist came out. I thought (and I still do) that they are so U-G-L-Y!! But...they are so comfy. I have bad feet and sometimes even sneakers hurt. So I bought a pair of Crocs to wear in the house. Well I brought them with me this past June to wear in the room and at the pool. I wore them the first day downstairs to the pool and thought that they were pretty comfortable. Well I tried them when we went into the MK and let me tell you; the rest is history; I wore them the entire week in WDW and had no problems what so ever with my poor ole feet. Ok there were some days when my feet would just be tired. But I had no pain in the balls of the feet or the heels like I do when I wear my walking sneakers. But to honestly say I wear them all the time; no. I'd be too embarrased! LOL...

***I just read that article**** It's funny; and that clip on You Tube of the guy screaming at his Croc...Oh well, made me smile.

And that right there is why I am wearing the flip flop crocs with the cute design on the straps. They blend in.

I love these flip flops (style is capri, I know you all are wondering), but I wouldn't be caught dead in the "traditional" crocs. Or most other designs for that matter. Those high heel ones are a joke. :lmao:

I was in the 10% until one of my trips to WDW was almost more than my feet could stand and I broke down and bought some. DD16 was always wanting me to get some, but I refused until then because I saw the Mickey Crocs and was ok with wearing them (or not being able to walk the next day:confused3 ). Now, I'm in the 90% and love them!!!!

I to at 1st thought they were kinda ugly, but I bought myself a pair (mickey ones) and DH a pair of the original crocs, and while DH think they are ugly, I dont think my mickey ones are all that bad looking. Besides, when you go out, either around town or in Disney, do people actually ever pay attention to whats on your feet? I know I dont. My attention is focused whats right in front of me weither it be a ride, show or something to take a pic of. And when Im just walking around at the parks, I dont pay attention to what people are wearing. Its their business, not mine.

Oh yeah, I plan on wearing mine everyday when we go to Disney next week. They are very comfy and they are even more comfy now that I have broken them in. Oh yeah anyone ever tried wearing them with socks. I usually slip them on real quick here at home to take my dog out to use the bathroom and I'll have my socks on. OMG, what a difference! It feels like your walking on pillows or something. SO COMFY!!

I can honestly say I don't know if I own any tennis shoes that fit my feet any more. I pick from my 4 pairs of Crocs and head out the door. That said none of mine are extreme colors, and I am not sure I could get some lime green or hot pink ones.

I now have 7 pairs and live in them all the time. I would wear them to work if I could. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them  and will wear them as long as they keep making them. My mom is even a Croc convert.

I don't know why people keep saying they are dangerous, though :confused3

Thanks for sharing! It was a great article. I love the Croc bashing. :lmao:

I love my ugly crocs and I am wearing them to WDW. My feet will "thank me" at the end of the day for it.:thumbsup2

Ugh! I love my Crocs. I don't consider mine "dorky". I have the Mary Janes and the Ballerina ones.
Don't judge me!:hippie:

The article was cute...although I still say give me my ugly shoes over nasty corns and bunions that many women get from wearing high heels every day..my Crocs may be ugly, but I have nice feet!;)

We played the same game in WDW last week - we sat and counted people wearing crocs - extra points for crocs with jibbitz!! I can't believe how popular they are. But those jibbitz add up - they are $3.95 each at Disney. We bought my 25 year old son a Mickey Mouse one as a joke because he kept talking about jibbitz all week. I think the mary jane style ones are kind of cute.

Me, DW and DD3 all wear Crocs. We love them and they are comfortable. I know they look ugly but i really don't care what everyone else thinks as long as my feet are comfortable all day. If i were young and trying to hook up with girls, i'd definetly not wear them.

One pair even saved me from a killer ECV that ended up mowing me down. If that person drives like crap on an ECV, imagine them on the highway.:scared1: Crocs are awesome and them stockpiling only means more of a discount for us. WOOHOO!

My whole family has these things. Even the two year old :). the boys all have Mickey Mouse ones and my wife picked up a nice pair of sandal style. Which is the direction I will be heading later this month. The Mall of America has quite the selection to pick from and the sandals while more expensive look oh so much better :)

That was funny! And I totally agree with Luv4Disney. I have tried on crocs a few times, wondering if I was just being silly. Nope, I found them to be totally uncomfortable and super dorky! Sorry! To wear something that heinous, it better massage my feet while I walk.

I remember seeing them on a former student and thought they were HIDEOUS! Ok, now, I own 3 pairs, DD1 owns 3 pairs (different styles), DD2 is on pair #2 as she lost one of pair #1 in Epcot on our first day in Dec. Even DH has a pair of Mickey crocs. These are the only shoes he wears at Disney due to the fact her gets horrible blisters on day 1 when he wears sneakers no matter how broken on they are. He wears them on the deck to grill. He actually wore them the first week back from Disney on Dec due to his horrible blisters.

DD1 and I will get another pair before our Oct trip, maybe DD2 as well. DD1 of course wants Hannah Montana or HSM crocs. DD2 currently has Cars crocs. I have a grey pair of Mickey ones, a black plain pair and a white pair I wore to massage school.

I can't live without them!

They do massage your feet. At least they do to me. Are you sure you tried on Crocs and not Clogs - aka the cheapie Crocs.

Love this article. I just watched a news story about how bad flip-flops are on your feet!

I am now in the 90% group. I thought they were so ugly and then Dillards had some Mary Jane ones on sale, so I thought I would try them. They are the pink, brown, yellow, and green. Go with almost anything. I wore them the whole week at Disney and now I wear them to the grocery store, etc. Anywhere I don't care what I look like.

Thank You. A few of the kids at my day care center wear these. They're also always the ones who skin their knees. Coincidence?

I think crocs are fugly.

I have never even tried a pair on. They look very wide and I have very narrow feet. I just assumed that they would not fit me - plus the ugliness factor.

BUT, now that I am in my mid 30s, I will put comfort over style. Does anyone with skinny feet wear them and like them?

I have skinny feet and I wear them and I LOVE them. I have two pairs, but usually wear my light blue beach crocs - they are worn in and just wonderful! I have black ones, too, but they are still 'new' feeling. The new feeling is kind of rough inside with the little knobby things on the bottom. Some people love that, because it does sort of massage your feet, but they bug me. But after a while they wear down and are just great.

I wear them every time we go to a theme park, or anywhere that I will be doing a lot of walking. Never have any foot or leg pain. I like the 'loose' feeling and I dont have the strap on the back of my heel, I move up on to the front of the crocks.

I tried a pair of the flip flops on, I think they are called Athens. I didnt like them as well, but some people LOVE them. So I think each person is different and the only way to know for sure if you'd like them or not is to try on a pair. Walk for them in a few minutes in the store.

They are ugly, no one will contest that fact but they are very comfy!

Very funny article. :) I think they are hideous too -- but unless I'm dressed up that's what I wear. I bought my crocs about two years ago and I pretty much live in them. Before that I had horrible leg, hip and foot pain unless I wore my special $460 sneakers with custom arches. Now the only time I wear the sneakers is if I know I will be doing excessive walking for several hours. I LOVE my crocs!

That was freakin' hilarious. I forwarded it to my entire mailbox.

I'm a 10%er myself. My Teva's are just as comfortable as any croc. And if push comes to shove, my Reef flip-flops have a bottle cap remover built in.

That beats any stupid croc any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I'm going to move this over to the Theme Parks Community Board, as that is where threads like this are usually found.

I USED to be a slave to fashion until I moved to Vermont where form absolutely must follow function or you freeze your you-know-what off. I also think they're ugly, but if you love them and they're comfy for you, who cares what anyone else thinks? I've been considering them for awhile too - but haven't made the leap yet. My students would actually think it was cool that their French teacher wears them, about 1/2 of them wear them too! I say, wear 'em if you love 'em and never mind what others think! :yay:

Great Article, made me laugh and I have well between the 5 people in my family 20 pairs of Crocs.

Daughter 6 Beach Brown

Daughter 2 Beach Hot Pink

I wouldn't consider myself a dork, far from it. I played soccer for 20 years traveling teams, college and semi pro and my wife was a ballet dancer for 15 years and our feet are just shot. Cramming our feet into soccer cleats and point ballet shoes for all that time I need something more comfortable to wear. I now work at a college that has fashion for a degree and the academic director said that they will never be fashionable, they never will be in style, you will always get made fun of for wearing them, but you won't care because your feet are so comfortable. I agree with that.

I used to hate crocs (thought they were kinda ugly) until I tried on a pair before our trip, they're so comfortable I can't take them off my feet.
