View Full Version : 2009 Rates?
Maybe someone has already asked this, but I couldn't find it in a search. Where can I find rates for May 2009 at WDW resorts? I have tried their site and Expedia. But it keeps saying the rates past December 31st of 2008 haven't come out yet. That just seems a bit strange to me. I could swear we've made reservations at least a year out many times before. Any answers?

They should be released on Sunday! :cheer2: Keep a weather eye open!
EDIT: I guess I should say that it is a high probability that they will release on Sunday. Just so you know LOL

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I hope they have them on their website on Sunday. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Even if the rates aren't out yet for 2009, you can still book a "room Only" reservation. Of course this is subject to any increase that may happen once the final rates are released for 2009. At that time, you can then call back and change the reservation to a MYW package if you so desire.
This works very well especially if you want a specific resort, room type at a busy time of year.

I did just that. The CM was very helpful and understood that we were just making sure we got the room type we wanted. If you know your dates and resort, I would go ahead and book room only. After everything is announced just call with your Res # and add everything on.

Room only rates for 2009 ARE available today (August 1st, 2008). However, they are not available on-line yet, only by calling in. :thumbsup2

They are?! So has anyone posted some sample 2009 rates from their phone call with Disney? Maybe I'll do a quick search. I'm dying to know how much the resorts are going up in price, etc.

When did this happen?? :confused3 Rooms are available to book for 2009 certainly, but only as a placeholder until the 2009 rates are released. (In other words, you pay the price of 1 night at holiday rate to hold the room until the actual rates are released.) Or am I totally wrong and have missed the boat? :lmao:

2009 room rates are out today, NOT the 2008 placeholder reservation you are referring to. Although you will have problems switching over to '09 rates if you have a placeholder ressi, but that's a mess for a whole other thread. ;)
New rates are early. They were suppose to be released along with Magic Your Way Packages on Sunday. Don't believe me, call Disney and check for yourself. :)

Contrary to popular belief, the DIS is not the 'official' source for WDW news. :thumbsup2

I never said I didn't believe you, sheesh!! I've been checking the WDW site and everything for a few days, not just the DIS - which, believe me, I realize is not the "official source" by any means. (And I missed the part about Aug. 1, cause um, I have a 13 month old who is being testy today, and I'm tired and actually thought it was Aug. 2 today. :lmao: ) And I'm not one to keep calling to see if they are available, so how was I supposed to know? :confused3 Sorry if you took what I was saying the wrong way, it was not meant to be inflammatory, just wondering when it happened. Not that it really matters for us anyway, we're waiting on the packages.

Ooooh wow, thanks for some samples! Hopefully others will post more sample rates as they call Disney. Seems like this news deserves a separate thread! I know lots of people are waiting to know this.

It's just that this place can be beyond frustrating when you post something you know to be fact and everyone questions you on it. Which is exactly my reasoning for not posting what I know on here.
I apologize for interpreting your post that you were one of those types of posters. :)

All the OP has to do is change one character and re-name the thread from "2009 Rates?" to "2009 Rates !" :thumbsup2

OK just started one and hopefully we get some rates I like. I am hoping to figure out prior to the announcement the season dates. Can you guess I am a wee bit impatient?????:thumbsup2

No prob, I can easily see how you would interpret it that way if you're used to running into those types of posters! :) I should have clarified that I was not questioning your info, but rather just making sure I was understanding you correctly, which I didn't at first since I missed the date LOL. I've never booked room only, but I'm helping someone plan who is, so I need to keep up with this stuff now! Thanks for the heads up!!

Ok, I just called and spoke to Velda and she said the 2009 rates are not posted yet. So I thought ok maybe she does not know or have the right info so I called back again and spoke to Angela and she said they are not released and to try back in a week or so. We are a grand gathering for April 2009 and only want room only, no packages and cannot get any info. Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Help!!!!!!!!!!!
Call back. There are over 1,500 WDW phone reps and a lot don't have a clue what's going on when rates/discounts and such are first released.
Call back until you get a rep who DOES know. Good luck! :)

I called and got a quote at Pop Century standard view from 1/16-1/22. The first 3 nights were $92 and the second 3 nights $82. With tax it came to about $583 or $587. It is a guaranteed rate for 2009 not a placeholder rate. I was also told they aren't sure yet it Magical Express is free for 2009. I'm not home and don't have my disney credit card so it was placed on a complementary hold until 8/8/08.
I'm waiting for packages to be released and was disappointed to hear that we need to purchase tickets to get the meal plan since I have 5 days left on my nonexpiring pass from last time. It will probably be cheaper to go with the AAA room only rate then a package but the new counter service meal plan sounds good for me.
