Ok Universal Exprets please help me with this question.

I'm considering purchasing a Premier Annual Pass. I noticed one of the benefits is a $50 per night suite upgrade at check-in if available. We have a reservation at the Hard Rock October 21st - 24th for a garden view room.

Have any of you done this successfully? Was it worth it? Is it a good deal?

Depending on what answers I hear I may go with the Premier Annual Pass or just get the Preferred annual pass.

TIA

I think a lot would depend on when you go. If you usually go during busy times, the suite upgrades would be few and far between. I would make sure that the other benefits make it worth the extra cost, just in case you don't get your suite.

I would say the chances of your suite upgrade any time during HHN would be pretty slim. Most of the nights you are going are weeknights which may tilt the odds in your favor, but I wouldn't count on it. Additionally, if I'm not mistaken, HRH has the least amount of suites of all the on-site hotels. It really is too hard to say if you get your suite or not.

Ok...Thanks to both of you for your advice.

One other question...I purchased a 7 day $79 dollar pass. Can that ticket cost be applied to an upgrade to the Premier Annual Pass? I assume taking it to Guest Services for the upgrade would be the best way to do it if possible.

Yes, you will just pay the difference.

This is the first time I have heard of this $50 suite upgrade with the AP. Is it offered automatically if available or do we have to ask??

That only applies to the Premier Annual Pass, not to the Preferred Annual Pass.
