I may have missed the fine print...but here's a simple question. Can one use the spa just to work-out (cardio equipment, free weights, etc) without a charge? I'm assuming that there's a gym on board, but hope that I don't have to pay extra to use it.

There is no charge for use of the fitness equipment.

I'll just clarify this one a bit, yes the fitness equipment is free. but you missed out on the cool parts, the workout room is in the front of the spa with a direct overlook view of the bridge and out the bow of the ship. a good number of tradmills, weight machines, and freeweights.

I took advantage of the facilities and equipment a few times while on our May '01 Magic cruise. It is generally not crowded, but there are only so many treadmills, etc. You may have to wait a bit if you are there during prime time (AM hours). (There is always an opportunity to run or walk up on deck - which is wonderful.) They have a variety of machines to give you a total work out - if you want to spend that much time exercising. It is tough to commit to exercising with so many other opportunities to see and do on board the Magic.

Enjoy your cruise!
