I just finally spoke to customer service about me ressie not showing the same price as printout says. Avis told me that my price in their computer ( I guess it's one that we don't see) shows a complete cost of $199.46 for my rental, I can deduct my wizard # coupon for $25.00, so my complete cost will be $174.46. I booked online using AWD# K163324, and rate code USA . The rate that comes up is the same price for economy up to full size. I've read that this code is not valid or is only for military. I never mentioned using any codes, only that there was a difference in my printout and my online ressie. I asked Avis if I needed to bring any proof for my ressie. They told me I needed to bring my printout and my wizard coupon.

Mark& Sandra...how did you use your coupon? I wasn't able to get mine to cooperate. I typed in the coupon # where it was indicated to do so on the online reservation form but I didn't see any difference in the rental quote with or without the coupon. I have the printer coupon from signing up for "My Avis" or something like that, $5.00 off per day up to 5 days. :(

Hello denisenh- I've been calling Avis customer service because I was getting a different price showing on my ressie when I went to view it. Today when I spoke to them they told me my confirmed rate was even lower then my printout. (199.46 compared to 207.62) I still couldn't view my new rate, it still showed the much higher rate. She said not on her computer, and I was confirmed at the lower rate. I asked about the wizard coupon and she told me to bring it with me and it will be deducted at the time of reservation.

Mark&Sandra, Thank you for your reply. I will just give our rental location a call and find out if we can still use it if we bypass the rental counter.
nhrenee.. we got the coupon after signing up for a wizard number on line. Its free! ;)

Is the plan for unlimited miles? Because I'd love a deal like that but we are coming from Louisana.

Hello resQmermaid-
Yes the deal is for unlimited miles. Did you try using the rate code (USA) at Avis's online site for your times and location?

Mark & Sandra-

When are you using your rental? I made ressies for 5/11 - 5/18 using your codes but I am a little wary of the USA codes (for the military). If they ask me for ID I will be speechless. Anyone else use this code and get questioned on it? Also, is there some kind of fast lane for Avis rentals?

Hello gailg-
We are renting 5/23-5/28. When I called customer service and asked if I need "ANY" proof for my ressie, they said only my printout and wizard coupon. I also booked with Dollar with (pick up 1 hour later). It was 30.00 more, still a good rate though, and it is a back up if Avis does not honor my printout rate. Other's have posted that they had no problem at rental counter. If I do, I'll go over to Dollar (they're both on-site at airport). As for being speechless, if you go grocery shopping and you pick out something that is on sale and then at check out they tell you it's not, are you speechless? You don't take that item and you go somewhere that it's cheaper. If Avis's rate beat others by sometimes hundreds of dollars, try it out. I think it's wise to have a back up just in case.

i went online to check my rate today and it has gone from $30 to $40.99--the customer service person said "well, you modified your reservation today"--right! i would willingly pay more money for the honor of renting with avis! what do i do now? i have the printed confirmation for $30--will they honor that????

Hello ilovemky
How long did you rent for, 1 day? Did you modify your ressie? Bring your ressie printout with you and askthem to honor your rate. You might need a manager to help you though.
Good Luck.
