I just received my package of dark iron on transfers I ordered from HP's website. The only problem, is they have a funny smell to them. Do they normally have that smell? Has anyone else ordered them from HP and had a funny smell? It's almost like a smoky smell. (The kind of smell your clothes would have after beeing in very smokey public places.)
What should I do if it's not normal? Should I contact Hp? Or just do the transfers like normal and then try and wash the smell out of the shirts after they are done? (Would that even work?)

Lightly bumping....I am not sure what to do and I don't want them smelling up my house, if it's not normal. ;)

Mine came in the mail a few days ago and I had not looked closely at them. I just checked and they do have a smell to them, it isn't too strong, though.

I just went and checked the ones that I ordered a few weeks ago and yes they do have a smoky smell to them. I am assuming it is the chemicals in the transfers. :confused3

I am in Paulding County and my kids don't go back until the 18th. Otherwise they would have been starting Monday too.

yep, I noticed a distinct smell the minute I opened the Hp package! Fortunately, I'm still kicking today and I opened them this past April. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I didn't have any issues with them being defective or anything either. Some have been through the wash at least 5 times by now (maybe more).

Just going to add that I made 18 shirts today with them and yes they do have a smokey smell. The shirts smell fine when done. I have used them in the past and they always have this smell.
