I need your laundry tips...We will spend 8 days in the World in September in the blazing heat. Our youngest will be 2 so we plan on returning to our resort each afternoon before dinner for a little rest. I'm certain that our daytime clothes will be stinky and sweaty and will need to be changed. HOWEVER, 4 family members, 8 days, 2 outfits per day = way more than I care to pack. That would be 16 outfits for each of us!

I need a solution somewhere between the very expensive laundry service and me washing clothes in the bathtub? Any tips?????? Thanks.

If you don't want to spend alot of $$ but want to wash in your sink they have these tide packets-3 to a package made specifically for sink washing only-not in a washer. (Walmart sells them) We usually bring laundry detergent & softner-when the kids go to the pool-I go wash!!! If we plan a 7 day trip-we bring about 3/4 outfits each & then wash in between. Makes for smaller packing!!!:goodvibes

Nearly every major hotel will have "do it yourself" laundry facilities. I do laundry mid-week (for an 8-day trip) which allows me to pack half of the clothes I would normally have to pack.

I'm with you - when you go during a hot and sweaty time of year, it's so nice to be able to change into clean clothes. Some people are able to make their outfits last a couple of days -- that's fine if the weather is cool and I'm not sweating, but I find that it's too icky when it's hot and humid out.

So glad you asked this questions, as I've been wondering the same thing. We have a nearly 2yr old and will be there for 6 days. Looking forward to the feedback you receive. Anyone know how much "do it yourself" laundry is per load?

If you're staying onsite, it's $2.00/load at the value level, anyways. We stayed at AS Movies last year and with three little ones in HOT September I needed to do laundrey mid week..well, it took hours and the dryers took at least $6.00 to dry! I spent $35 to do laundrey one afternoon. It was horrible...we're going in December again and staying at POP and I keep wondering if would be cheaper for us to pack more and pay more at checkin at the airport than for me to do wash again!!!:laundy:

I think $2 a load for washing & $2 for drying-remember though if you fill the dryers too much-it will take longer & more $$$$! If you don't bring your our detergent I think it's approximately $1 a box for that. (I could be wrong w/ price of detergent)

I roll my quarters & specifically save them for our "laundry" :goodvibes

For those who do laundry at your resort, do you stay in the laundry facility while the clothes are washing and drying or do you start the wash/dry cycles then return?

I start the wash/dry cycle and then hang out by the pool :yay:

Last time at disney someone stole my sweatshirts out of the dryer when I was in the ladies room in the same building. When I go this year I will have my eyes glued to the washer and dryer the whole time.

pretty easy & convenient. The laudry facilities are close to the pool at all the resorts we've been to (and close to the pool bar ;) ) I throw in a load, hang out w/a drink, move load, hang out w/a drink, fold clothes, hang out w/a drink. Well, you get the idea!!!:lmao: :lmao:

That stinks!!!:headache: I can't believe that people are like that. I usually stay there b/c I use liquid softner during the wash cycle and I can never time those washers right. I did like the laundry area in DL-now POR it was right by the pool.
