When the shares were consolidated they went up in value, only because 1 share is now the same as 100 previously.
The up side is you only need 5 shares to join the shareholders club :)

When I bought my shares I bought them through the Halifax Bank.

I am all set to buy Disney shares (in time for my next visit at end Sept) but, never having bought shares before, I am a little confused over which type of transaction is required in order to provide the evidence required by Disney (to enable the share purchaser to join the Disney Share Club).

The cheapest share dealing route seems to be the Nominee Account, but this does not involve any paper transactions (e.g. the purchaser receives no share certificate). Is a screenprint or e-mail printout sufficient evidence for Disney here? Or does it require the shares to be purchased through a Certificated Account (more expensive) or a Crest-Sponsored Account (annual fee to LSE)?

Thanks for your advice!

A Nominee Account is fine, you can then send Euro Disney a print out of your purchase.

Thanks Jonathan, much appreciated! :thumbsup2

I have signed up for an account, so should have them within a week.

Best wishes,
Andrew.

One more related question, sorry.

I was browsing the Disney USA corporate site, and they specifically say that there exists NO shareholder benefit programme. I presume therefore that only EuroDisney SCA shares (not shares in Disney common stock) qualify the shareholder for any discounts, and that these discounts only apply within DLRP?

Just wondered if there was any similar scheme for obtaining discounts at the Disney USA sites, for possible visits in future years?

DLRP shares only enable you to have benefits at DLRP. As Disney USA are an entirely different stock.

The only extra benifit you get out side the park is the 10% discount at the Disney Stores in Europe.

I am not too sure if it applies to the UK Disney Stores as I keep leaving my card at home when I am visiting one so have not tried this yet.

Does anyone know if as a Shareholders club member you get the 10% discount at UK Disney Stores?
