Hello Everyone: You heard from my family and I when we had dinner with Kevin and John at CRT. We had a great time at that dinner, and on our vacation. We've been back for about 10 days, and now I'm off on a trip to work. This time I definitely will not be in Disney - I leave tomorrow for Nicaragua. I just had a couple meetings yesterday and people were asking me "did you get your hepatitis shots? Are you taking your malaria pills?" Whaaaa? :scared1: This information would have been a little helpful earlier. Today I'm running around getting shots and picking up pepto bismol. I don't have time for the malaria pills to be effective - so I bought bug spray with 100% DEET. Wish me luck. I'm hoping the podcast is posted before I leave tomorrow so I can listen to it on my flight.

Don't you just love companies that do that to you. I've been working/ traveling to Europe since January, and last week they started sending me emails about differnt expense rules - well DUH you could have told me this last January !!!!!
Anyway, enjoy it as best you can.
I really enjoyed your review of CRT.

Hurry back! :goodvibes
BTW...just read an article in the paper yesterday about mosquitoes and it said the people most likely to be bit are overweight males with type "O" blood -- does that information help you or hurt you? :teeth: Also, the colors they are attracted to the most are black, followed by red...so wear your white DIS Unplugged t-shirt the whole time and you'll be fine!

I'm lucky I lost all that weight from running, but I don't know about my blood type. Thansk for the good wishes.

My daughter leaves for Nicaragua on Thursday. She had to run around town to get the shots. She took the malaria pills and got a very bad headache from them.
I'll have to remember that about the colors. :)

She is going with the World Leadership School. The paperwork says La Isla de Ometepe. It is an island in the middle of Lake Nicaragua. She is going for two weeks. It should be an eye opening experience.

Hola from Nicaragua! I made it down here safely, and have been having an amazing trip. I had a very nice room in Managua for $3 on Wednesday, and then drove 3 hours to the rural countryside the next day. My room here is definitely below Disney´s value resorts. The electricity went out yesterday and there´s no water. Sure makes you appreciate what you have. The people have been absolutely great to me here though, the countryside is gorgeous, and I may even get to see a volcano.
Can´t wait to hear the next podcast.

Glad to hear you are there. My daughter is supposed to see a bat cave and volcano while they are there.
Keep us updated. Stay safe.

Greetings Everyone, I'm back in Managua now. I won't be going to Lake Nicaragua, but I've heard that Ometepe island is gorgeous. I'm going to do some sightseeing and buy some presents today before I come back tomorrow. It has been a very eye opening trip, and I'm ready to come back home. But the people here have been absolutely wonderful.

Glad to hear you have been enjoying your trip. My daughter has done some hiking and kayaking. Today they are helping install sinks in a local school.
It has been an eyeopening experience for my daughter.

Is it anything like Dagobah? Just wondering because of your avatar and signature... :yoda: That'd be cool. Just stay away from scary Dark trees...

It is a little like Dagobah here - pretty wet.
OK, I gotta get to bed because my flight leaves Managua really early tomorrow morning. I hiked around a volcano in a cloud forest today, and I saw wild Howler monkeys right next to the trail. I took photos and videos - so maybe I can share when I get back home. I'm looking forward to getting home.

Greetings Everyone: I'm back in the US now, and trying to catch up on home and work stuff. Unfortunately a little GI trouble followed me back from Nicaragua.
Here are some pictures of the monkeys I was able to see on our hike around the Mombacho Volcano.

Thanks for sharing. Not what I thought they would sound like. It's amazing how loud they were, and also how hard they were to see. You would think you were totally surrounded by a troop of huge gorillas, but you couldn't see them. You really had to struggle to find out where they were, and then you realized they were right on top of you.
