Just sorting out the last of my questions before we jet off on Monday :cool1: :cool1:   and wondering where the best place for purchasing good sports wear and trainers is for the kids?

Hi Ali,
I would definitely say Premium Outlets.
There are Adidas, Nike and Puma outlet stores there as well as the likes of Sketchers trainers too.
There are some good shoe stores within the Florida Mall, 'Journey' is pretty good and 'Foot Locker' at Pointe Orlando also sells a good range too.

There's a huge Sports Dominator store on I Drive near to Wet n Wild which has all the American sports gear in.

At Prime there is a great store that sells dicounted Under Armour clothing (don't know if they are selling the new trainers yet). If you don't know of UA it is great sports clothing which is designed to work with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance. They have 3 types- one for when it is hot, one for when it is cold and one all weather.
However, apart from all that they are really fashionable as a lot of football teams use them for training and even under their shirts at a match.
Buying in the States is a real bargain for UA clothing. I guess it depends on how old the kids are, but it really is worth a look.
However, for buying hockey tops and baseball jerseys etc I get all that from a couple of great sports shops in the Florida Mall as Sports Dominator isn't a big enough fan of the Red Sox for my liking.
HTH.
Thanks for that will defo visit Sports Dominator.
Lisa - thanks for the tip about Under Armour. My son, aged 11, plays a lot of footie and trains outdoors all winter. He always wears his under armour but this is now getting too tight for him. I only passed comment the other week to OH that we will need to look into replacing it this year so thats a BRILL tip ! Any idea of prices?
Please excuse my ignorance but where is Prime - can't you tell we are novices (well I haven't been since 1995.) :sad2:
Thanks again

That is so crazy. Only last week I came across my receipt from the stuff I bought last year. I got womens XL (so higher priced than kids) tshirts ranging from $15-$25 and $35 for some long sleeved tees not discounted. I got joggers for $30 and shorts were $20. My hoodie was $35 and kids hoodies were $20 (for my little cousin).
The best bit is my receipt tells how much of a discount I got on each thing. I got betwwen 40% and 54% off (I'm guessing off RRP as the stuff that was not discounted I saw for the same price in another non-outlet mall).
Prime is the old Belz Factory Outlet at the north of I-Drive. HTH and have a great holiday!

Don't really rate the dominator store, I've been a couple of times to get Bucanneers stuff but been disappointed. The nike store is the best place for cheap sports gear, there's loads of choice, the adidas store is not quite as good as nike but does have a decent choice of kids stuff.
There was a Footlocker store at the top end of the i-drive (if you dare go there, ha ha!). :thumbsup2

I don't rate Sports Dominator as a 'general sports store' which is why I never recommended it.
Every time I have been in I have come out empty-handed.
However, if you are a big Basketball, Baseball or Ice Hockey fan it may be a different story as that's the kind of sportswear they really specialize in.
The factory stores such as Adidas and Nike at Premium Outlets are good all round shops in my opinion - though hit and miss in a way as all discount stores are.
To be honest the sports stores we have in the UK are better and there are a couple online that are excellent too.
I think trainer's are a different story and Foot Locker at Pointe Orlando is well worth a look if you are looking for the likes of Nike and K-Swiss.

I know what you mean Johnny. I am looking at this as an American sports fan-I buy a lot of NFL/NBA stuff as well as MLB gear.
Nike,Reebok I can get anytime and the UK sports shops are far better than those in the US as you said.I think Footlocker is worth a look as well.

Definitely agree Mark - I wasn't knocking Sports Dominator, it is a good store if you are into the American Sports.
I have in the past bought basketball outfits for Joshua to wear on holiday because they do look good on youngsters...but that was a Scooby Doo outfit from Universal!
I saw Ali's question really aimed at a general sports store, for trainer's etc which in a way SD isn't.
I only tend to watch US sports on TV when I am in Florida to be honest.

Sorry Johnny, didn't mean to sound like you'd recommended it! :thumbsup2

For NFL stuff there's a Reebok outlet that does sell merchandise for most NFL teams, though they do tend to be last seasons shirts, for up to date shirts, Footlocker is the best, though naturally, the priciest! The Reebok outlet is good for general NFL t-shirts and training wear, which are a little harder to come by.
I've always been a little disappointed there's not a 'definitive' sports store in Orlando, I would have thought that with the vast numbers visiting from all over the place, it would have been fairly popular. :confused3

No that's fine I didn't mean it like that. ;)
I agree also there isn't a truly top-class Sports Store in Orlando - in fact many in the UK are superior.
