All New Picture of the Day Thread - July 28, 2008

Good morning folks. Tara (she's 11 1/2 now) and I have taken some time off from Disney. Tara was over Disney for a bit, I guess I overloaded her in 2006/2007 spending so many of our weekends in the parks!

I have missed taking photos, but maybe once we start going back I can look at things with fresh eyes! Fall and the holidays really are my favorite times at the parks, so we will be heading back over. Definitely for a MNSSHP sometime in October.

Hey Carol! ...I am just giving Dave a hard time...he took a ton of pictures, and I am SO JEALOUS!

He got to spend several hours alone in the Parks taking pictures. Lucky guy!!!

I, on the other hand, had two kids screaming, "Mom! Quit taking pictures! We want to RIDE something!" LOL.... So, my picture count is probably about half of Dave's! :thumbsup2

We just rolled in yesterday, so once I get to post processing my pictures, I'll start posting them!

In the meantime, I'm enjoying everyone's pictures...

Especially Figment's...where did this guy come from? His pictures are fabulous!!!

The bigger of the inner circles are the Astrology signs. Like Virgo, Leo, Aries.
As for the other one, however I have no idea. I'm off to do some research to find out.

The buiding in the picture is actually not the one directly behind Canada (the events building); it is actually the Soaring building (as another psoter stated). If you look at the shape you can tell the difference.

Yes it is the building the contains the ride Soarin'. I didn't beleive it at first but if you use something like Google maps, you can see the shape of the building.

This question is a thread on the photography board somewhere...

Here's what I tend to bring with me into the Parks:

My Lowepro backpack which holds my K100D Pentax, three lenses (50mm; 50-200mm; 18-55mm), assorted memory cards, batteries, and remote control.

This trip, I also took my tripod, which has it's own carrying case (which my husband lost on Dinosaur)!!! So, no AK night shots for me! :sad1:

I also take in a small digital camcorder for those moments that need to be filmed!!!

It's a lot, but it's oh so worth it!!! :thumbsup2

I was in the the Canada pavilion. Go up the stairs and turn to your left there is spot there right by the water fountains. I was there about 45 minutes before the show both last Thursday and Friday night.

Finally got my first SD card emptied and onto the computer! Now, to start the long and tedious post processing! LOL...

Here is the very first picture I took when I set foot on that hallowed Disney ground...it was about 2 p.m. last Saturday....

A breathtaking site to those of us that live far away and who finally get to see our beloved Main Street station in person after a long time away...I hope it posts here as clear as it is on my side...Enjoy the first of many to come!

I also love the back of the castle. It's probably my favorite thing to take pictures of at WDW.

You make this beautiful sight even more so with the photo. It's breathtaking.

The Pirate Mickey and Minnie are what Disney refers to as Big figures. They are large, about 2 feet high. Arribas Brothers on MK Main St sells these and I have seen them in the store at DHS that is near the Animation Bldg. They go for about $150 each, sold separately.

I love taking endless pictures of the buildings in Italy. I wanted to take so many more this past trip, but I was besieged by small people calling, "Mom! Let's go!"

Alright, Ed--here is the story....Tony is 11, and he won't pose anymore, so I'm left with Josh if I want ANY kids in my pictures these days...(Pretty soon it's going to be ME posing w/the characters!)

I am trying to post my POTD in order of when and how I took them, so you will probably see several Princesses in a row for the next few days, and the HILARIOUS part is that his face has the same expression in every picture! Ha! Ha!

Sometimes...you just gotta take a picture...
