the words tree of life is made with sure cuts alot - just a free font welded together with a leaf stuck to the end and then with the push of the button it shadows.

Group 6A Maelstrom, toppers are inked although it doesn't show well in the photo. I used SCAL to cut out the title. Paper piecing -- the blue piece is pop dotted (not the flag, the other thing) Not all 6 have the same colors, but the flag and other piece matches on each boat.

Grp 7A -- there is a clear ant on the topper too which isn't showing well, the titlte part is pop dotted

Topper -- I used SCAL to cut out the title, glimmer spray, ink and a jewel

Grp 9 -- SCAL title again, but this time I figured out how to a shadow (very easy). It is a blackout shadow. I can see I am going to need a lot more xyron on hand. The paper is patterned paper by reminisce -- their surfing theme.

Oh and on the ship, those things are called "shields". :lmao: They used them to protect the rowers and then took them into battle with the warriors.

Well that makes more sense than spooky eyeballs -- that's what DD thought they were:lmao: .

I did look them up -- the photos I saw had all different colors for them. I started to make each shield its own color, but it didn't lay nice. I have an extra ship for you, did you want the topper too?

Well, Eeyore is always losing his tail. So I prefer the whimsy of it on the topper. I don't think I'm in that group, so my vote doesn't count. I do like it though. The Stickle on the cloud is a good touch.

Is Mulch, Sweat and Shears the really loud band in the truck?? They park down by Power Rangers? I hate them with a passion!!!!! OMG, I have never seen anyone more obnoxious. And they aren't even a good rock band!

Yes, that is the group...but you have to understand that as soon as they started their obnious-ness.. so do did my DH and DS12! OMG! for every sarcastic comment my two were firing back.. the poor lead guy didn't have a chance! :) This time they acutally set up down by where the NY skyline is...

ARgghhh --- now that I look at this on-line I realize what an idiot I was! I used gold as the base on the helmet. It would have saved me hours of tedious work if I had used silver as the base.

I've got 2 groups done!!!!!! Here they are:

This is for Group 1b - Characters. The TIGGER letters are pop-dotted so they look like they are jumping off the paper. It looks so much better in person.

And this is Group 2 - Princesses. There are lots of Stickles on these. Also, I didn't have enough of any one color flower so some will get the turqoise, some will get yellow, and one person will get the topper with the yellow on top/purple on bottom with purple flowers. Other than that, they are all the same.

No, no cart.. printed it out off the web and doing it the old fashion way..

but there is one on the cart if you have the expression... it's on tags, bags, boxes and more..and I think there are a few on other charts... w/ the baby bug even when I do the real dial size it's ity bity @ 5 1/2.. :( So, since Dh didn't get me the expression for my b-day... I told him that is my only request for Christmas...I've also told DD too.. she is the one that will make her father do it... she won't give in til it's under the tree!!!

DIT and Nancy - super cute stuff!!

DD use to call corn muffins.. Stuffed puffins... so when I put it on the menu we have stuffed puffins w/ some of our meals...

I love that! One of my DsDs used to call omelets "egg walnuts," so that is still what we call them.

No, the hippo was delayed.. he landed in my yard for some reason.. I pointed him in the right direction w/ a note to the address he was suppose to be returned too!!!!

Here's my set for Group 7b - Studios. I'm signed up to do Animation so I decided to do the Animation Academy where they teach you to do the drawings. It's one of my family's favorite things to do at Hollywood Studios. The sketches I used on the Topper and the squares are a few of the ones that we've done while visiting. This set looks so much better in person than in this picture.

Actually, they are my DS's and DH's actual work. I love doing the sketches but I have no talent at all. My drawings are the ones we all laugh at, like my side view of Pooh where he looks like he got bit on the head by a mosquito or my side version of Stitch that looks like a teapot. But, you know what, my sketches are more memorable than theirs since those are the ones that we still talk about and laugh together about!!!

I've got out the rain boots. I have brought 2 shovels and a hoe to the beack door in case water stands to start in the yard. I have my tarps in the garage and a couple inside. I have my emergency bag bagged and in the back stairwell.

Tomorrow will be get gas and money day.

DBF is suppose to go to the Richmond race Saturday but I think NCSHP may have him go to Wilmington and work if it gets bad.

Wow... you even got a bag packed. Oh oh.... no bag. With disabled son I do have his stuff ready to go, but that is only if the power goes out and stays out for too long. With Ophelia (she hit Wilmingtion head on) we did fine out here. I am about 25 miles from the ocean. I am hoping it will be the same. My DH will be in his big truck heading right into it on Friday afternoon. Hopefully he will get in before it gets to bad. Keep safe and dry. Hope your DBF gets to stay out of Wilmington.

This is my Expedition Everest set for Group 8a - Animal Kingdom. The words on the topper are pop-dotted so that you have a shadow of the same words underneath. On the Yeti pulling up the track, the yeti and the track are cut out and pop-dotted on a complete picture so that you have that shadow effect again. It's hard to see this in the picture, but it looks really good.

I'm not happy with the photomat and will be adding something (not sure what yet) to it. It has 3 mat layers (white, black, dark blue). It's hard to see the bottom layer in the picture. It just looks really plain.

Here's the final version of the TTA..... I changed up the paper a little from the prototype. The shiny paper made the picture come out a little wierd.

On the topper, the Mickey head flag is pop-dotted.
On the Mickey soldier, his hat is flocked. It really helped it stand out from his ears. He looks so much better in person.

thanks guys. i'm not sure i'm lovin' my minnie group. i did put the minnie letters in a baggie so that the group could have it, if they wanted to use it somewhere else. no sense of me hanging on to 6 minnie cutouts. and i also have a minnie cuttlebug in the baggie, because i was going to use that, but did not, so i threw that in there too.
i'm still working on china.
do you guys feel like you make the same things for all your swaps or do you try to go out of the box? like i want to make a file folder for china, but i just did that with the sports swap. is that ok? or not?

and awm do i owe you one of these groups?

Sometimes I think I make the same thing each time, others I go out of the box for- many times I am in different groups and no one would really notice I make the same thing. It always just depends. I find that I make what would look best with the supplies I have/bought for the swap and if it is the same from group to group and such oh well.

I have a hard time making different things for my swaps. I do find that I get on a "kick". Like my file folder book kick or my matchbook in an envelope kick or more recently, my photo mat kick. I tend to make the things I think would use the most when I finally get around to using these items.
Personally I like the file folders & matchbooks. I like hidden journaling. I like the photo mats because they can be either/or or both if you use a smaller photo. Whether or not I use these things has yet to be seen. :rotfl2:

ps--I do not love my topper for 11a. It's boring. So, I found a cute Christmas thing at Michael's the other day, so everyone will be getting one of those as an 'I'm sorry'. LOL. Just so you know why it's in there!

i bought a jolees scroll to go with it, but it does not fit on the front, so i'll just put them in with the stuff and you can put it wherever you want on the page. it's not sticky anywhere though? so you'll have to use some glue dots on the back of it. but it's red and gold like the folder.

I think the China file folder is really nice, love the colors! And I get one of those, too! Dont worry about getting in a rut because you never know when you will get someone new in the group, like me, who really has doesnt have much yet, and will love everything and Im already thinking how to use it! Yea!

I'm not in this group, but the Pooh stuff is cute too!

I think it looks elegant. I don't think things need to be overembellished. I love the differences- what I look for is quality materials and items that are made well (no glue boogies and straight cuts.

PO3, the Pooh and Minnie elements are cute! I also like the China folder. It's very pretty and elegant. I agree with AWM and go with what your gut and what you would want to receive back. That's what's so great about these swaps is that we all make/see things differently and since we do, our books don't have the same thing over and over again.
