Today is the day that hockeymom is winging her way to Florida after spending the entire weekend in various arenas in Mississauga at the OWHA Provincial championships. I wanted to congratulate her and her youngest DD as their team took the Gold medal in the Atom C division (we didn't fare quite as well in Atom AA, unfortunately :( ).
Now from the "It's a Small World Department" - as Baboo discovered to her dismay, the Four Points Sheraton near Pearson Airport was booked solid with teams from this tournament. It turns out that my daughter's team and hockeymom's daughter's team were on the same floor in the same hotel. We did talk to a number of the Peterborough parents but I never was able to locate her. We could have had a DIS meet right there in the hallway of the hotel. :D

I was going to post and ask how things went this weekend for all of you. Glad to hear that hockey mom's DD did so well! Sorry to hear about your daughter though Mike.
You're right about a small world though. When we checked into our room at the Ramada, my DD knew one of the girls that was in the hall just down from our room.

Thanks Mike. It was a great weekend and we just got back from a great trip. Winning gold was awesome and my other DD made it to the Bronze medal round but unfortunately came 4th.
I watched one of your games Mike. I was standing right behind your DD in net. Sorry things didn't go better for the team, but that was pretty strong competition out there.
Thanks to everyone else for the congratulations.

I'm not sure which game you were at, but I usually illicit a lot of looks during DD's games. When we were down at WDW for the real millenium celebration on Dec 31, 2000, I broke down and bought one of those Skyliners at Epcot. You've likely seen them, you spin them around like a noisemaker and it displays a message as it spins. They're US$20. Anyway, after I bought this I discovered it's programmable, so I've programmed it to display "Go Devilettes" and spin it at appropriate times during their games. I've had a number of people ask me where I got it. I really should start up a black market trade in them, as I've never seen them for sale anywhere locally. :)
Glad you had a great trip - we're looking forward to the reports.

Hey we have one of those and I never thought of using it for that, good idea.
I think I was at the 3rd game. I got there just as the other team scored the second goal, so I understand why you might not have been cheering at the time. I did look around the areana, but parents were really spread out.

TimandDansmom, thank-you. It was awesome, the coach was crying(male), and we were beaming all weekend.
