They request no jeans or shorts in the dining rooms for dinner. You can wear dress pants- I wore capri pants one night and a casual skirt and top an other. There is 1 formal and 1 semi formal night but it is up to you as to how formal you want to dress. You can wear the same dress on both formal nights- no one will care or probably even notice. You also are requested to dress fro Lumieres if on your dining rotation you are in this dining room on a nigh that is not formal.

Personally I would take 2 dressy outfits or at least something you can mix and match- I am always afraid I will drip something on my clothes and not have a backup!

Your DH should be fine with one suit. He can bring an extra shirt and tie.

We did not do breakfast or lunch in the dining rooms so I can't help with that part of your question.

I just bought 3 'reversible' dresses on sale at Meijers yesterday (store in the northern midwest). This will give me 6 different looks while on the 7 day cruise. These dresses are bulky and won't take up a lot of room either. My husband was happy too because we try to keep our luggage to a minimum!

I can't wait to hear everyone's reviews of the Western Cruise! I am SOOOO excited!

Sorry! I meant to say these dresses are NOT bulky!

I had seen this kind of dress in the JC Penney catalog before, so I am sure they are around other places.

Target had them too. I'm taking two pair of dress slacks, two sundresses (one is tropical) and two formal/semi-formal outfits. I plan to use the dress pants twice, with different summer sweaters.

Breakfast and Lunch are always casual -- shorts are fine and some will even be wearing bathing suits with cover ups at lunchtime.

You can't beat a long black skirt and several differnet top combinations.

Your DH will probably need just 1 dress suit for the formal/semiformal nights, but you'll need to bring other pants for the other nights-khacki's or dress pants with polo or button down shirts. I always try to bring 2 tops for 1 pair of dress pants-no one will notice you've worn the pants twice. And I try to keep the colors of my various outfits the same so I can wear the same pair of shoes most nights. For breakfast/lunch you can wear shorts, swimsuits with coverups or whatever to sitdown or buffet meals. The only exception I would make-I wouldn't wear a swimsuit into Lumiere's-I did wear a nice short outfit in there though. Our 1st cruise I swore I wouldn't do laundry on board-but had to anyway- and I way overpacked. The 2nd cruise I packed less and did a load of laundry while DH and the kids took a nap. That worked out much better. Doing laundry on DCL is better than doing it at home!!!
