Hi, I've been talking with DM and DG and we are trying to decide which method is best for getting from the CDG airport to NPB hotel.
Last time we got the VEA shuttle bus and had a really bad experience on it so on our way back to the airport we got a taxi which was much better but it was more expensive and if we were to do taxi's both ways its quite a big chunk of the spending money really.
So i've heard about getting the train from the airport but i dont know much about it and was hoping for some help.
I know it takes far less time to get there which is great.
But is the train station inside the airport itself and is is easy to find from terminal 2B?
We arrive at 18.50pm but last time our flight was slightly delayed both ways but do the trains run often?
Finally the cost- is it much more or less than a taxi and can you just pay when you get on rather than having to pre-book it?
Sorry for all the questions- i'm in hyper planning mode now (6 weeks today  )

Ashleigh, bavaria wrote this post (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1511273&page=0&highlight=TGV+vs+VEA) about VEA vs TGV. There may be some details that would help. :goodvibes

Ashleigh have you considered rstransports as well as the TGV? I know after your last experience you're not keen to take the VEA again, and rstransports will collect you from your exit at CDG and take you straight to your hotel. Their prices start at around 70 euro for 3 passengers, one way. So not much more than the VEA, and certainly a lot less than a taxi would cost.
There is a link to rstransport on the Very Useful Information sticky here.

oops yeah i meant to say that instead of taxi. Thats what we got back to the airport last time and it was a lot better and after looking around about the TGV, its gonna work out around the same price anways but with slightly less hassel with the luggage.
So it looks like we will use rstransports. Do they or other companies wait outside the airport? Or do you have to pre book, its just because our flights were delayed both ways last time and i wouldnt want them standing around waiting for ages.

You don't need to worry about that Ashleigh.
When you book with rstransports, they ask for your flight details. So by checking themselves, they will easily know whether your flight is delayed. Thats standard practice I believe with transfer companies.
