I just went into my subscription list to see if I could find an old thread and saw the number of threads I was subscribed to...132 :scared1:  No wonder I never get through my other emails since I always go to my Disboards folder first..
How many are you subscribed to?

Since I joined in 2004- 4299!!
But I'd say, at any given time, about 15- 20 active threads that I get email notices from.

297 :)
If I don't subscribe, then I lose track of what I was finding interesting and miss it for days on end. I like seeing the messages pop up in my inbox.

Less than 50.
I make an effort to keep the list down to one page by unsubscribing once a topic has run its course.

Over 1300, but I periodically clean them up, when I have time.
The thing is, when I'm cleaning them up, I discover some pretty interesting past conversations that I'm loath to give up...this morning I started reading the posts of a now- deceased member, Mumbling Jumba (husband of Evil Genius). Now I don't want to get rid of any of my old posts, lest those links should prove nostalgic in the future.

169 and still counting. I have become addicted to knowing everything I can about Disney. At first my husband thought it was a novelty but now he is not sure. I have learned so much on these boards:cool1:

908 now...
How to subscribe? I am not the best person to answer this. I believe in your User CP you can select an option that says if you reply to a thread you will get an email with all the responses from that point out. You can choose to get an individual email from each thread or a daily or weekly summary. I get individual reply notices, which I prefer. Surely someone else will be able to answer your subscription question more thoroughly. Good luck!

I'm at 1039 and I cleaned some up a few weeks back. I should do it again and get rid of some of those old ones!

ETA: When you post on a thread it subscribes you. I just go to Quick Links and then select Subscribed Threads and I can keep up with them that way. That is what I do when I come to the DIS, check out that list and then maybe peruse the forums I like for new stuff. I don't get any emails or anything with updates.

I only have 95 but I am a bit OCD I tend to clean anything I can and weekly take out the non active ones I'll never go back to. mostly the threads that aren't on the DIS Unplugged forum that are a one look deal!!!!!

if you go to User CP there is an edit option which you can pick to subscribe when ever you post in a thread.
I know when I joined in march I had to choose this option it wasn't defaulted to this option!!!
1 click user cp
2 Click edit options
3 under Messaging & Notification go to the Default Thread Subscription Mode
4 and change it to anything in that pull down bar except do not subscribe!!!

This is probably a question for Webmaster Alex, but I was wondering if the number of thread's you subscribe to has any affect on the speed of the boards.

As soon as I hit submit I will have exactly 100. I also clean mine up every so often. I like to keep ones that have info I like to know.

I subscribe to every thread I ever post on, and some that I don't post on but am interested in. I like to be able to refer back to any of them whenever I want to. It's kind of my DIS history :). I have e-mail notifications turned on, but I simply turn it off for any given thread if the thread is getting tons of posts.
What I don't understand is when people subscribe to none, and then complain when they can't find a thread they posted on or had some interest in. Well, subscribe :confused3.
I keep cleaning up and there are a couple that I am peeved about not having subscribed to. Want the info, but to darn lazy to search.
13 now, and one of them is locked. :lmao:

In addition to the instructions about how to automatically subscribe to any thread you post on, you can also easily subscribe to a thread you don't post on by simply clicking on "Thread Tools" and selecting subscribe on the drop-down menu.
