Hi Campers!

I am a good friend of Jen's and occasionally lurk here. I just thought her friends might like to know that she had an Appendectomy yesterday (Thursday). She came through the surgery just fine and is resting at home.

I imagine it will be a few more days until she's back on The DIS posting.

Thanks for posting. Actually-Jen was on the board the night she had her surgery thanks to her DH bringing her the laptop & air card. But it was very nice of you to let us know, too.

I see you're a long time poster on the disboard. You should hang around this forum more often...we are a "loony bun" crowd!;)

A lot of fine qualities in a woman! I just got called irresponsible on the community board for suggesting someone format their hard drive because they had a virus. Go figure! :rotfl2:

You have to be really careful on the Community Board. You're in constant danger of being flamed, told you know nothing, etc.

Y'all seem to be much more laid back over here.create ringtonescreate ringtones:cool1:

Someday when I have some time, I'll tell you stories about Jen from when she was younger. . .

I have topamax every morning and evening for the migraines and perceset for the pain for the missing appendix, so I am set for now!

I go back on Thursday to see how the incisions are healing. Getting up and down is getting easier every day. I still have to sleep in the lazy-boy, but hopefully that will end soon. I tried to sleep on the couch, but woke up in a blaze of pain and ended up rolling myself in a heap on the floor to get some relief. I learned something valuable at 4am this morning: rolling and falling off the couch is much less painful than whatever position I woke up in on the couch and Perceset is wonderful still.

If I learn any more lessons early tomorrow morning, I will be sure to share!;)

It WILL get better. About the only thing that hurts on me now is where they stuck me for my IV. I'm a VERY hard stick and it took them 3 trys to get it. Then right before I was discharged, they had to draw blood on the other side and it took 4 sticks (and actually calling the head nurse in) before they got that.

Oh, I am SO glad I am not the only one in this department! I have veins that are deep and I BEGGED that woman not to put the IV in my hand, but NOOOO, she HAD to. Well, the damned thing blew up and made this 2 inch bubble in my hand. I begged her again, please take the IV and put it in the side of my wrist, but NOOOO, we had to go in the other hand, to which I became a bit testy. So, in the end, I had the damned thing in the side of my wrist, where it would stay. I know your pain, Carol, I know you pain....

YEAH! Your back! How are you doing?? I sent Chris and CJ fishing today. I don't know if that was a good idea, because the guy driving the boat is also from Alabama and of the same idiocy, so what did I do here? We have lots of sandbars and such in the rivers here locally. I don't know if Phillip has learned where they all are yet. Anyway, it is peaceful. My poor mom has been the jungle gym lately, much to my dismay. She keep volunteering. Are you doing ok?
