View Full Version : Just Back From the Dolphin - Our Best Vacation EVER!!!!

Hi! We just returned home a few hours ago... the Dolphin was absolutely wonderful!!:D The resort was beautiful, our room was perfect, and the Grotto pool was outstanding!! I hate to gush but...this was the best vacation we ever had! If anyone has any questions I'll gladly try to answer them...:D

Hi CaliD - the weather was great, low 80s during the day with not too much humidity, high 60s at night. The crowds were manageable, only unbearable in MK in the afternoon. We went to MGM yesterday and thought there were less people there than on Wednesday! :confused: We always got seats on the bus and the boat and never waited more than 10-15 minutes for any attraction! We have been to WDW before in April and it's a great time to go!

Sounds like it was about perfect! We were there for New Years, and the MK was a nightmare almost every day! Too many strollers! (can't even begin to say how many times the back of my foot got caught on the front of strollers)

Tell us more about the Dolphin--view, the pool, etc... We'll be at the Dolphin in a couple of weeks on a teacher discount.

What room type did you have at the Dolphin? How was it? Did you get an upgrade? Have you ever stayed there before? Where else have you stayed and how did it compare? Hey, you asked for questions!!! Thanks!

Hi! We had a resort view with balcony reserved and we were assigned room 5019. We had a view of the top of the EPCOT ball, the lake, YC, Boardwalk and the fireworks! We have stayed on site two other times - a Contempo tower room with a MK view and a YC waterview room. The Dolphin resort was definately the best! Every member of the Dolphin staff was friendly and professional, and the resort was gorgeous. The Grotto pool was warm and huge, and we always found three lounge chairs in the shade! We liked the fact that the pool was deep enough that you did not have to crouch to be covered with water - unlike the pool at the Contempo. We used the pool most afternoons and we did not see any notices about closings for conventions. Disney-Kim : definately try to get to the parks when they open - we walked on to every ride until about 11:00am and then used fastpass or went to the less popular attractions.

Poohlovr: We LOVED the Grotto pool! The water was plenty warm enough and the size, landscaping and cleanliness was so impressive. The pool was large enough for my DH and teenage DS to play an aggressive game with a large beach ball without disturbing anyone. Hope you have a great trip too - I'm sure you will:D !!!

So glad to see you back on the Dis after your visit to WDW & Dolphin! We all wondered about you, lounging by the grotto pool, soaking up the sunshine, etc.! Wonderful to read you enjoyed every minute, and dub this the "BEST" vacation ever! Ours seem to get better and better too...and we always stay at the Dolphin! I'll bet you are planning your next escape to this magnificent property...yes? Take care, and again--great to see your HAPPY Self back here with us!:) :D
