If we have free dining and are at a TS meal, but want appetizers, or Alcoholic drinks, how does this get handled on the check? We've never done the dining plan - to be honest, if it wasn't free, we wouldn't be trying it now - I just am afraid of being slowed down or every meal ending with a whole "education" of the plan from a waiter. Does anyone else have apprehensions about this? The best part of Disney vacations is the ease of everything! I don't want to be stressed about what I can eat and how to pay for the extras.

For the record I am not as crazy as I sound. Jane:rotfl:

They just give you a normal check for anything that isn't covered, it's easy.

We were there in June and you got a check with the items that were not covered, like app, beer, wine or a side order and if there are 6 or more at your table they will add in a 18% tip. If you are going to pay cash for this let them know before they bring you the check, we paid cash so there were several things to sign. If you charge it back to your room this may be a little easier (think this is what er are going to do this Sept. for free DDP).:cool1: :hippie:

If I am not mistaking, they automatically add in the 18% gratuity for items not covered by the DDP even if you are a party of 5 or less...at least they did to our family of 4...just watch your ticket to see if the gratuity is already added in or not on those items so you do not pay gratuity twice...that could get expensive very quickly if you buy OOP items at each TS meal.

Your right you may be paying a tip on a tip if you don't look at the bill before you leave a tip. Last year at R & C I ordered a beer after the meal and before we watched Illuninations from the patio there. The bill came and had the tip included but I wasn't thinking and paid the tip on the whole thing so bacically I added a tip to the tip. So keep an eye on the bill.
