I've read here and elsewhere about creative ideas for gathering character autographs without buying autograph books. Does anyone do their own passports for collecting the stamps at World Showcase countries? Would the CM's stamp onto home-made "passports" or must one purchase the Disney one to get this done? I understand the Disney passport is not very expensive comparitively, but times 4 kids and with the U.S. Dollar exchange rate for us this does add up.
Thank you again for any replies.

My DH and kids have designed an entire book that we use to have the CM's stamp....
They include pictures from the country, maps, flag and stickers, were country is on the map on the world and lots of demographic and economic statistics....It's great cause about 60% of the time the CM's spend extra time talking to my kids about there country...We use it as an educational tool....

Thank you Zurgswife. I was thinking of having the kids prepare one as an educational tool themselves in advance of our trip. Then they'd have to try to find some of the information or examples while we are at the Epcot country pavillions. I'm glad to hear the CM's will stamp their homemade ones too.
Thanks for your ideas of what to include also.

I scrapbook and would love to have this done for me. Will they stamp passports for adults?

That is a really great idea!! We are going from Sept. 25 -Oct.2 and I have been trying to come up with something for my 2 kids to do since they will be missing school. This place is full of wonderful ideas!!

You can see a sample of the Epcot books Zurgswife mentioned on http://BadShoe.com
Pick Epcot Project of the menue in the middle of the page. That leads to three sample pages.

Thanks for sharing those examples. I don't think ours will look THAT good! But now we definitely have an idea of what to aim for!

Hi we did the passport thing 2 yrs ago. I have 4 kids & at $10.- a piece I thought it was a little steep so I bought 2 & made the kids share & it was great because sometimes they got tired of asking for the stamp & then the other kid would just step in & do it. It was great they managed to get all the stamps by the end of the nite but that was only because while we saved a spot 4 the fireworks the 2 older kids & dad took the passports & literally ran all over the park to make sure they had all their stamps. I thought that next time they came back they could just finish it then but they wanted to finish that nite & boy did they get their excersise. :) A wonderful idea & I was glad my kids did it but it did work out fine for them to share them :)

We made our own as well... If I could figure out how to post it I would.
My son was 5 at the time, and couldn't read truly well.
We made flags of all the coutries and printed them on blank index cards, used a clip art site, with the country name and __________ underneath the flag.
We then had some clipart on the front like the United Nations Logo and and Unity symbols..
Then we had the front and back cover (more index cards) laminated, and spiral bound at Staples.
The lamination and binding was $2.
We got so many comments from CM's about it.. You made this? How cool? That is great!
