:surfweb: If you have any pictures of rooms, lobbys, bathrooms, outsides, insides, patios, pools pool bars, you name it of the Royal Pacific I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see them!!! We are planning to stay there this April or March and wat to soak up all the planning I can and see what I have to look forward to! I have never stayed there, or at any onsite hotels for that matter. You can post Portifino and Hard Rock Hotel pic too if you wanna... I would love to see your pictures of your US/IOA Hotel experiences!! - Thanks so so much!! :thumbsup2

Nope, no new rule, but there are lots of threads already that have pictures. You'll probably find that once someone has posted a bunch of their hotel pictures, they probably don't want to do it again. However, if you take some time, you should be able to find everything that you are looking for.

For example, just a few posts down, Kelly has posted this thread and a link to all his pictures of the RPH. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1897392

No rule Grendalynn, but many of us have already taken the time to post and respect the need to keep the DIS lean by avoiding duplicate posts, especially of pics that require much more bandwith.

Why not check the trip reports board. Lots of people have posted Royal Pacific trip reports w/pics.

Geez - I think the OP had a great idea. What a way to bash her down.

The Disney forums has dedicated Resort Pictures, Park Pictures, Funny Pictures threads and more. Are you not allowed to here??? :confused3 I personally think it is annoying to search and locate a few pictures here and there all over the board and love the dedicated posts with nothing but pictures. It might be a way to keep this board a little more active since it is a very slow moving board as it is.

 Thanks so much Suzanne!!! I felt very shunned (sp?) and figured I would just stick to the WDW Threads as they *seem* much more friendly!! I have been redirected more than once on the US/IOA boards to search and research for already posted info regarding questions and info I was looking for.... I thought that this was the whole reason behind the DisBoards... I have no problem reposting info or pictures or advice that I have already posted before..... I have decided to keep my posts where I feel welcome and wanted.... :rolleyes1

I thought it was a great idea, too. DH & I are tossing around the idea of "selling" our week for our timeshare and staying onsite at the RPR (new onsite hotel for us), but I don't have time to search through literally hundreds of threads. The search function does not work on these boards, and I'm not really even sure what keywords to put in there.

The Disney boards here have a whole thread dedicated to just resort photos.

I know I've personally posted the same photos of my food porn multiple times when someone wants to know what the risotto from Mythos looks like or the beers at Finnegans or the hurricanes from O'Briens. Once you've got the photo up on your photobucket page, it ain't that big of a deal to hit "copy" and "paste" once more.

If the DIS is truly concerned about space and staying "lean," having a dedicated thread to restaurants and resort photos might be a good idea. Sure, sometimes the food porn thread is on the first page or two, but often it's not.

I'm frankly really surprised at the response OP received from the "homies" here. Y'all are real quick to fry anyone who dares to come here after a trip and say one bad thing about Universal. More often than not, I see things like, "Well, you should have come here first and asked questions before your trip." Here you've got someone interested in trying out the dark side, who's really excited about it and has asked for help and photos. First she was ignored, then told to just browse the hundreds of posts here. Not even a welcome.

:sad2:

OP, I was wondering the exact same thing around the time you posted your question. After clicking here for about 20 minutes (and seeing maybe six photos in the RPR hotel sticky with like 600 posts), I found a few just by Googling images of whatever resort you're looking for.

Hope you have a great time. If we do decide to stay there in September, I'll take a bunch of photos of the hotel and send you a link -- or hopefully post them on a dedicated resort photo thread.

Thanks! :surfweb: I appreciate the support and kind words. I had no ill-will or bad intentions to make waves - mostly to ask if anyone out there had some pictures that they could easily be posted for me regarding my new interests.... With 3 kids at home I dont have time to search for past posts. Besides - there are always newbies (like me) or others that might be interested in *the dark side* as well. Once I was blown off, onced over,and/or slapped on the wrist so to speak, I gave up and went back to the WDW based threads... Especially the Family board and got some of the info I was looking for... I was disappointed and hoping to get a warm welcome as I have given many on the *other* side.... Too bad I feel burned from these boards; I am sure there are many friendly posters out there for US/IOA, but I havent met many of them yet. :sad2: Except for Suzanne and PlutoLuvr... :flower3:

Maybe if you ask a mod we can get a sticky for nothing BUT resort pics.....it is so much smaller over here on the Universal/Sea World side......we don't "carry as much clout" so to speak - so there are plenty of posts WITH pictures in a smaller area so it is easier to research. Besides - we have alot of posters who report their stay, show their pictures and never come back.......so please be patient with the dozen and a half of regulars (versus the hundreds of Disney Experts on the Disney side) who are here to try to help.

Sorry you took my posts the wrong way. It is unlikely that people were going to post their pics on this thread after they had already done so in another thread. Your thread would have just gone ignored by those who had already posted their pics. We already have stickies on each of the hotels at the top of this board and the other universal board.

We get a lot of requests that are the same as yours. Since there are probably only about 25 regular posters on this board, it is impossible for us to repost all of our pics each time. It would be a lot quicker for you to do the searching.

There are some really good links posted in the stickies with lots of great pictures of the hotels. One of the best comes from this site.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/universal/index.htm

If there is a specific picture of something that you need, we will usually post it for you but to repost our hundreds of hotel pictures is a lot to ask.

I agree - the mods should consider a picture only thread sticky for these great resorts. It just seems so much easier for those that don't post often here.

SnackyStacky, THANK YOU for coming back to post your pics and help.

I think tlinus and damo were being generous when they said how many of the same posters on the UO board consisently help answer the same questions over and over and over, so I think they deserve a break.

On the Disney side, there are many, many people who can help. On the UO side, you barely need 2 hands to count those same people.

Quite frankly, some of the posts made here could easily be considered hostile to those 10-12 people who are always helping. Sort of alienates the limited amount of people who do try to help, and when these 10-12 posters grow weary of answering the same questions, it's can be a slap in the face to tell them they aren't being nice.

So stand up and be proud, SnackyStacky. You have paid it forward. And I hope other new posters to the Universal side of the house who come here and ask questions don't forget to come back after their trips and help answer questions and post their pics. Sadly, it rarely happens.

I don't have pics to share. I take pics, but they all have my family in them and no one wants to see my ugly mutts but me!

Carry on .....
